Excellent location, friendly staff. Helpful reception and housekeeping, staff very friendly throughout the hotel. Comfy rooms and bed/ pillows. Quiet location, nice bar and pool. On a bus route, within walking distance for restaurants and shopping.
My partner and I chose this hotel mainly because of the price. At $130 USD a night in downtown Waikiki, the value can’t be beat. We didn’t care if we weren’t right on the beach - it’s only a 5 minute walk away. All of Waikiki is pretty much at your doorstep. At the same time, this leads to a little noise… it’s right on a very busy street with a lot of traffic noise during the day. At night there’s the occasional loud car but it wasn’t enough to disturb my sleep. Check in was a breeze and the staff are very personable and friendly. A standout was Linelle, one of the housekeeping staff, who made us feel right at home. The bed and pillows were super soft and comfortable and the shower had good pressure. The Keurig coffee in the morning was welcome. We had everything we needed for a great stay and I wouldn’t hesitate to return. …
Enjoyed our stay! Good location, we could see fireworks from our balcony. It had everything we needed. Simple, no frills, just perfect for our budget! Loved the friendly service and hospitality! Shout out to Matt, best bartender ever :) Thank you! We will be back :)
Upon checking in, I noticed the Beautiful Christmas decorations and Christmas tree. This hotel is quite small, But the atmosphere was great! The staff was Awesome, Especially Linelle who greeted me as I was coming out the elevator to go to my room. She offered if I needed help with anything I could let her know. I met her for a good 2 minutes and her vibe made me feel comfortable and I knew I was going to enjoy my stay at The Equus. As small as this hotel is it definitely has ALOT of potential and from what I see, its the Staff that makes this hotel what it is. Thank you Linelle, Because of that 2 minutes you gave up from your job, Because I know Housekeeping must not be a easy job, My trip is going in the books I won't forget. Merry Christmas Equus Hotel and staff.
I travel alone and stayed at the equus hotel. Before booking my room I always read up on the reviews. I the honor of meeting the house keeper Linelle whom was wearing her name tag. she is exactly what I read about on the reviews and lives up to her personality. My room was nice and it had a nice scent to it. If Ever you at the equus hotel I hope you run into Lenelle. She is very good at what she does. Her personality stands out! Thank you for everything Linelle.
Aloha, I came to Oahu for a class reunion and stayed 1 night. The location was perfect and in walking distance to where our reunion was being held at. I would like to express a big Aloha to Miss Linelle, who asked if I needed anything before checking out. She was filled with so much Aloha.Thank you Miss Linelle. I will refer all my Ohana and friends to The Equus Hotel.Keep that Aloha spirit up Linelle, It makes a person's day. Mahalo, Da Braddah that was staying in 706. Happy Holidays.
Great central location. Just off the beach in Waikiki. Clean hotel. The only issue we had was parking because of the size of our vehicle. Lincoln was an absolute gem! He was so helpful and thoughtful!
When I booked I got a great price! My stay was absolutely wonderful. The staff was great, Especially the Housekeeper Linelle. Always so pleasant and easy to conversate with. She was very knowledgeable about the rooms, property and activities the island had to offer. My room was just the right size, bed was comfortable and the ac was nice and cool. I will definitely refer Family and Friends and be back in the future. Thank you Linelle for providing Excellent customer service and up keeping my room while I stayed on the 7th floor.
Picture this: the palm fronds part at the entrance, revealing a picturesque bar and a Christmas tree in the process of being decorated. I was greeted on arrival by Lincoln— a charismatic young man who immediately provided me with a straight-to-the-point orientation of the hotel and a comprehensive breakdown of the schedule. Within a three minute span, Lincoln told me everything I needed to know about the wifi, the local trail rides, the breakfast bar, and the best drink to have at the hotel lounge. I appreciate a concierge who is unfazed by my cringeworthy dad jokes; Lincoln proved to be made of tough stuff. As I waited for my room (having arrived early), Sandy expertly mixed me a rum punch at the lounge. A warm breeze wafted through the bar; when I glanced behind me, the Christmas tree had been finished. Sandy’s cheerful banter (and tolerance for more dad jokes) immediately put this girl at ease after a long solo flight. The Equus, as it turns out, is full of character and cheer. I was looking for a local vibe and an escape from corporate sterility, and I found my antidote. I honestly felt compelled to put my phone away for a few minutes to listen to the chatter of returning guests. Evidently more than one person had felt the call of the Equus from the mainland, and flew over during the holiday for the atmosphere alone. This spoke volumes to me, a mere passerby. Now then— another rum punch! …
My friend and I was walking around and looking for aa place to sit down and relax. We were looking for something cute and not to crowded. We met Sandy and I cannot say how pleased we were to meet her and to encounter someone with such gueine and unique KANAKA, to meet her and to be educated about the Hotel and the island and it's culture, we were blessed and you guys are blessed to have a Hawaiian that doesn't pass any judgment. I will be sending all my coffee drinkers here to the Paniolo to embrass the company of Sandy. We were honestly blessed and happy to have just came across this gem of a place and meet staff that shows the meaning of ALOHA.
