I had a lovely stay at this property. They take care of guests and make sure you have everything you need for an enjoyable trip. They were accommodating, clean, and friendly. They provided what you need for the beach and I was very satisfied with my stay. The hotel is walking distance from the beach and several shops.

Hotel's Favorite
Hotel was unique, clean, safe, comfortable and in a great location. Our main objective was being by the water. The ocean was just across the street from the hotel, with nothing but the street between. That beach in particular is protected by breakwater, so that water was shallow and calm -- great for families with small children. However, surfing beaches were also available, a 5 minute walk in either direction. Also nice, as part of the resort fee, you can get a free surf board, boogie board, or beach chair loan for the day (other items as well). Sleeping rooms were great. Bathroom is small. Atmosphere was unique and fun.

Response from The Twin Fin, Owner at The Twin Fin Waikiki
Responded Feb 22, 2023
Aloha stephanie s! Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay and the convenience of our location. Waikiki is a very vivid place and while everything within walking distance, we are still on the quiet end directly across from the beach. We are looking forward to welcoming you back in the future. Mahalo and a hui hou - until we meet again.

Amenities as promised were not provided. Had to go to front desk twice to request replenishment of in room coffee pods and towels. Called once to front desk and gave up as no one answered. Second time the lady had attitude and told me the cleaning service was on schedule - whatever that means… room old, painted over many times - vent in bathroom falling off the wall. Great view from the balcony but about all I can say was great. Avoid!

Booked eight nights last minute through West Jet Vacations at a great price with good value. The location could not be better and you get to wake up to the best view even with a partial ocean view. So many great restaurants and shopping near by. If you are a runner, it is right by Queen Kapiolani park which is an amazing flat ~ 3km loop that is perfect for training. The gym was small but had enough free weights to keep a routine. The hotel also offers unlimited beach towels and will safely store your bags on your last day at no charge if you have a red-eye flight. Just a heads up that there is a $60-ish per night resort fee that is due up front upon arrival to the hotel, which i believe is common these days but still caught some guests off guard. The rooms were a bit outdated and dusty, but the bed and bathroom were decently clean, free of any staining on the bed upon inspection, and housekeeping and front desk staff were kind. There is a safe in the room that is a tad old and dirty but it worked. As others have said, the rooms definitely had “landlord special” upgrading and there were marks and stuff on the walls and furniture but you won’t be in your room enough to care. It had motel vibes, but a quick wipe with a lysol all over the room had me feeling better. I would stay again for the value and experience I had - your vacation is what you make it!

First the positive. Location was right across the street from the southern end of the beach and downtown Waikiki. The staff was courteous and helpful. The view from my balcony was very nice. Would have been even better on a higher than fifth floor level. Now my disappointments. Stained popcorn ceiling. Stained bathtub. Cheap, cheap furnishings sloppily painted over. A safe that was so dirty I washed the buttons myself. Some of the numbers didn't even work. Bed was so squeaky that I was relieved I was there alone. The decor is early 60's surfer dude beach house. All of this I could deal with if commensurate with the cost. $54/night to valet park your car and no self parking available. For a few dollars more a night I could have stayed at a much nicer facility with an equally good location.

Close to the beaches, shopping and activities! Everything is with walking distance. The views are superb, with DiamondHead on on side and Waikiki beach on the other. Many shops in all budget ranges close by. Around the corner from Honolulu Zoo and the Aquarium. Will be staying there again!

My wife and I spent our 9th anniversary at the Twin Fin in Honolulu. The room seemed a little dated, but was nice and clean. We were there for 5 nights, and so other than extra towels and coffee pods, we didn't require any maid service. The staff was always friendly and anxious to help. We had previously read that they will supply a microwave at check-in, upon request, and the housekeeping brought it up almost immediately. We walked to a food truck a couple of times, and this let us heat-up the food we brought to enjoy from our lanai. There was a refrigerator in the room, so we saved money by purchasing breakfast crescents and heating them up in the room, and enjoying from our beautiful view from the lanai. We had an Ocean View room, which let us see all down the beach from our lanai. We thought the Ocean front room might get too much sun to sit on the lanai at sundown. Being at the far end of the beach, kept us from a lot of the noise, but also made us walk further to get to our Rock-a-Hula Luau, but avoiding the noise and congestion was what we wanted.

They had roaches in our room. No water the last day so no showers or bathroom. Balcony makes a howling noise if it’s windy n you can’t sleep. The room door doesn’t touch the ground so you can hear n see light from inside your room to the hallway. Oh and Athey had roaches in our room. And all they did was give me three days off resort fees out of a 6 night trip.

The Twin Fin has the best view of the Pacific ocean! We got an ocean front room and were not disappointed. I will say that we thought it was in need of some refurbishments but it was okay for us. You get points every day (3) which you can use towards lounge chairs, umbrellas, beach items. You have to go to beach envy which is down the street. The guys there were really nice and helpful. There is Tiki's Bar and Grill and a wonderful cafe (Cafe Glace) to get pastries, sandwiches, and gelato. We definitely want to thank Amber for working out a problem we had with booking. She is the best! The elevator system takes some getting used to. Different elevators go to different floors. You punch your floor in, run your key card and it will tell you which elevator to go to.
