The Embassy Suites by Hilton Waikiki Beach Walk receives accolades for its vibrant atmosphere, including live music and nightly entertainment, though the decor may benefit from an update. While opinions on value are divided, with some questioning the cost relative to room quality, the complimentary breakfast and evening receptions are popular perks. Its prime location near the beach and local attractions, along with commendable cleanliness and service, are frequently praised. However, the pool can feel overcrowded, and while rooms are spacious and tidy, some guests suggest they need modernizing.

I've been to Hawaii more than 10 times, but this was my first time staying here.

I booked a pool view room through Rakuten Travel, but on the day, they upgraded me to an ocean view room in the high-rise Fulla Tower without me saying anything. It was the second room from the back on the ocean side, and I could see the fireworks from the Hilton. Since there were two adults and a toddler, I requested a two queen room in advance, and they also fulfilled that request. Thank you very much.

I didn't have high expectations for the food after reading a lot of reviews, but it was enough for breakfast. The omelet was full of ingredients and cheese, and it was just right for two people to share. I saw some people taking it back to their room to eat. The breakfast venue was pretty full, so it was nice to be able to do that.

The pool was right next to the jacuzzi, so you could go back and forth, and the pool water wasn't cold, so adults could enjoy it too. Other hotels were cold, so I had to be determined every time. This hotel was not shaded in the evening, so it was busy until late.

The only thing that could be improved is that the water pressure in the shower was weak, and it took a while to adjust the temperature.
Also, the elevator requires you to swipe your card key every time, which is a bit of a hassle since the contact isn't perfect. This was especially annoying since the previous night we stayed there on a bracelet system.

The location is great, as you can find Beach Walk on the first floor, where you can find a delicious acai bowl bar and an ABCSTORE right in front of you. You can also get on the Pink Line from in front of the Hokulani in just a minute's walk.
We were considering a condominium as we have children, but this hotel was so satisfying that we would like to stay here again next time.

This was my family's first trip to Oahu and I was a little apprehensive about where to stay. After reviewing many properties around the Waikiki area, I booked 2 rooms at the Embassy - a 2 bedroom 2 bath suite for my family and an additional king suite for my parents. Both rooms were in the Hula Tower with amazing views that we'll remember forever. Let me first say that this hotel is NOT cheap but let me also add it was the BEST decision I made and I have no regrets about how much we spent staying here during our 8 day trip. The property is beautiful and clean and the service at this Embassy is phenomenal. The rooms are modern, spacious, clean and comfortable and we loved returning to them after a long day out. We also loved that the hotel included breakfast with a good spread including made to order omelettes. Try the Spiced Zucchini bread :) One of my daughters and I became addicted to it after trying it the first day. It's so good !! Another thing to note is that if any of you are like me who goes through review after review looking for a quality hotel in prime location to serve as our base while on vacation then this, is where you need to stay. My family and I walked everywhere because the hotel is centrally located to literally everything - the beach, restaurants, shopping areas etc. yet somehow it is still wonderfully quiet when you retreat to your room. You can't ask for a better location. There are many hotels and condo's around Waikiki that you can choose from but I doubt any of them can hold a candle to this property in terms of service, quality and spaciousness of rooms, location and breakfast and for these reasons, it will be the only one that we stay at when my family returns to Oahu. Thank you Embassy Suites Waikiki for making our stay so wonderful.

A couple of things to note :

Fee's - There are mandatory resort AND valet parking fee's per day (I think the resort fee was $40 per day + tax per room and the parking was and additional $45 + tax per day per car). There is no self park. In those fee's however, breakfast is included which was great and having the ease of someone parking your car after a long day and delivering it again when you need it was much appreciated (and I'm one that doesn't normally use valet parking ). The fee's also include daily housekeeping which most hotels don't always do anymore after COVID. I personally really loved and appreciated coming back to a clean, made up room after returning from a long day in the heat. And for those of you who like happy hour - they offer that as well. So are the mandatory fee's high? Yes they are. But they are the worth it? In my opinion, Definitely !!

Room Selection - We had 2 rooms in the Hula Tower and we absolutely LOVED it !! The Embassy has many different room categories but if you can swing an ocean view or partial ocean view room - I highly recommend it. Being able to see the waves every day and the sunsets every evening was amazing. Please note though that even if you pay extra for a partial ocean or ocean view, this hotel is NOT ocean front. The Embassy is wedged between other buildings so you are not going to get an ocean front view so don't expect it. But what you do get is terms of ocean view is truly lovely and my family really appreciated and loved the room we had. I also HIGHLY recommend the 2 bedroom 2 bath suites for larger families. I loved that my 4 kids, husband and I could all stay together rather than everyone splitting up into 2 rooms.

Final note - Thank you so much Gianna for your wonderful hospitality when we checked in and for bending backwards to make our stay so enjoyable. The Embassy Waikiki is truly lucky to have you. Thank you also to Cary (in the dining area at breakfast) who made us feel so welcome each and every day. He provided a wealth of local knowledge and it was a pleasure talking to him every morning. Thank you also to Erick who assisted us when Gianna was unavailable. But it wasn't jus these 3 individuals. Every team member at this Embassy be it guest services, housekeeping, dining or valet goes above and beyond in term of customer service and it's something that should be acknowledged.

The Embassy Suites by Hilton Waikiki Beach Walk is a terrific place to stay. It is perfectly located within walking distance to the beach and nice shops and restaurants. It seemed to be in a safer part of Waikiki than the usual Waikiki. Also, the beach behind the Outrigger hotel was a lot quieter than the usual beaches in Waikiki. I enjoyed walking along the paved pathway along the beach from the Outrigger hotel all the way to the Hilton Hawaiian village lagoon. There is a Honolulu Cookie Co just behind the hotel. If you go, there are plenty of samples of their great cookies and if you buy something, they give you two free individual individually wrapped cookies to sample. The staff at the Embassy Suites was terrific. They greeted me very warmly upon arrival and the bell person offered to help take my large suitcase to my room. The front desk was very nice as well. They printed my boarding pass for me and changed a five dollar bill into 5 one dollar bills, which I used for tips. The best part of the stay was the breakfast buffet. The buffet itself is not fancy - cafeteria style - but they also have an omelette station where you can ask the omelette chef to make your eggs anyway you want them, not just omelette style. The room was very clean, which is most important to me. It’s not real modern, but it was nice. I loved the fact that they had a washlet seat on the toilet just like the Toto washlets you find in Japan. I paid extra for a lovely room in the hula tower with a view of the ocean. I was on the 21st floor, the top floor, and had a very large lanai (balcony) with two chairs and a small table. It was just lovely.

Embassy Suites Waikiki offers a welcoming and comfortable stay for visitors. The staff members are known for their exceptional hospitality, with particular praise for Alaine, who provides a notably warm and engaging experience. Guests can expect clean and well-maintained rooms, along with a prime location that facilitates easy exploration of the city on foot. The balconies in the rooms often provide stunning views of Waikiki Beach, enhancing the overall experience. Additionally, the hotel includes a breakfast buffet, which is a convenient perk for guests.

This is a nice ES a block from the ocean. Its proximity to the ocean made this idea! The views from the pool are great of the ocean and even some of the “non ocean view” rooms have great views of the cove and ocean. GREAT breakfast options in the morning, fresh fruit and pineapple. The staff are exceptionally kind and attentive. We have a party of 5 for a wedding and had lots of family staying and they went above and beyond with providing shampoos and toiletries daily. Rooms are really spacious and clean, smells great. You have a lovely balcony to watch the sunset/sunrise. Evening drinks are fun and the pina colada is tasty. Diamond members go directly to the bar and skip the general population lines for drinks. Nibbles at night are simple- chips, clearly, gold fish and dip. The AC is in each room (the suite and the bedroom) and turn off if the door is left open so you have lots of control over temp which I love. Had family stay at the Royal Hawaiian and we all agreed that this ES gives just as lovely of an experience with MORE value given the breakfast, location to nearby shops, cafes, ocean, restaurants. Directly across from the Outrigger where lots of activities are offered. Overall a great place to stay that felt like home for 5 days. Hot tub and pool are kept clean and perfect temps. Lots of kids are let in the hot tub which is a bummer but overall lovely roof top pool atmosphere. The bar tenders are all nice and relaxed. The evening manager’s special had an amazing guitarist/singer who we LOVED listening to while enjoying a drink and treats and watching the ocean. We booked about 9 months in advance because of rates…so book ahead! Stayed on 19th floor, quiet rooms, cannot hear anything outside or above rooms. Within walking distance to everything close by.

My wife and I returned to the Embassy Suites Waikiki Beach Walk for the 11th time since 2011. This year was partially an early celebration of my 80th birthday, but we don’t need an excuse to come because this is our favorite hotel anywhere. We keep coming back primarily because of the service and the staff, but we like the location and believe that it is the best value for hotels in Waikiki Beach with the complimentary breakfast and evening reception. At check-in we were greeted warmly as usual by Jay who said Justyn Wee had alerted him that we would be arriving. Jay then upgraded us to a Premium Corner Oceanview Suite which was awesome. After settling in to our room, Justyn sent some “Suite Treats” of fruit trays and sparkling wine which we enjoyed over the next few days. Now for the service and staff: Each morning at breakfast we were greeted warmly and welcomed back by the staff who remembered us from our previous stays. We also met a few new faces this year to whom we quickly warmed. A quick shout out to all the hardworking breakfast staff including Aldrin Cary, Jay, Alma, Elona (also at the evening reception), Lorenzo (offered dinner recommendations) and Jordan. Thanks, also, to all the others who we do not know personally for their hard work. The evening reception was also great as usual with Keola, the best and most entertaining bartender anywhere, and his co-bartender Maile who is awesome also! They are a great team! Dennis and Lewis at the Pakini Bar were great also. Thanks also to Roy and Otto at the pool. Thanks also to Dean from the Bell Staff who stopped by to visit with us one evening at the reception after he got off work. He wasn't working when we checked in or checked out but it was great to visit with him. Lastly, a special thanks to our housekeeper, Crisfel, who greeted us with a smile each day and made sure that we had everything we needed for the room. She was awesome! Once again, we had a great stay and hope to do it again next year.

There are many things to like about the Embassy Suites Waikiki Beach - with a few areas for potential improvement.

What I liked:
This is one of a few hotel options in Waikiki that has "standard rooms/suites" that can comfortably accommodate larger families, as is the case with most Embassy suites. The Embassy Suites is nicely located near what I consider to be the main Waikiki beach area - with all the main sights within walking distance. Nearby dining options are plentiful and there is always something going on in the shopping area next to the hotel. The complimentary breakfast is amazing - and they know how to cater to a large breakfast crowd that may all show up at the same time. Also, nice evening reception for all guests, with a bit of a "skip the line" system for Diamond guests. The assigned room was large enough to accommodate our group comfortably, and the room was prepared as requested. At first, I thought I was "downgraded" to a low floor, but quickly realized the advantage of being on the same floor as the pool and the breakfast area - so from that perspective, nice room assignment, even though I did not get commanding views from this lower floor room (and balcony)

What to watch for/could be improved
Even though I am convinced that room housekeeping is kept to a high standard, there are some limitations when it comes to moisture and carpets. My allergies went into high gear while in the room - and frankly the decor and amenities could use a bit of an update or remodel... so yes, the main rooms are, in my opinion, a bit dated, but this is not uncommon in Waikiki. Front desk service was also quite uneven... sometimes meeting some very friendly employees... and sometimes... not so much

All in, this is a good hotel which offers families a decent place to stay at what is usually a reasonable price, by Waikiki standards. There are likely a few more modern or remodeled options - but not necessarily that many that would have all the amenities offered by the Embassy Suites

This is my second time staying here after five years.

I was relieved to see that the calm atmosphere along the beach walk hasn't changed much since five years ago.

The room was a corner room on the 16th floor of the Aloha Tower, and although the living room was encroached on by the emergency stairs and was small, it was spacious enough for two people.

The view other than the sea is also beautiful.

(Looking at the floor map, it seems that there are also rooms that are "encroached on by the elevator")

The changes from five years ago are as follows.

- The business center is gone. Instead, a printer is installed in front of the elevator on the first floor.

- A washlet has been installed in the first floor toilet (but it didn't work well...)

- Free drinks at the evening reception are limited to two drinks per person

- The salad bar at breakfast has disappeared

- A bracelet given at check-in is required for breakfast and the evening reception

- The TV is now only for online broadcasts (I wanted to watch KIKU TV)

I think the staff's service is still satisfactory.

There were times when I wondered if there were not enough staff, but I don't think it was to the point where I felt dissatisfied.

(At least from my perspective)

I would like to use this service again the next time I come to Hawaii.

Our family’s first time in Waikiki.
Location:
Not exactly beach front but yet, you can still have a glimpse of the ocean if you happen to get a room with an “ocean view”. We had an “ocean view” which is good enough. Location suites me as I’m a surfer. Surf board rentals at Big Wave Dave’s so it’s very handy as I get to keep my rental
board. They provide locker for storage. Pretty central to everything and walking distance to a lot of restaurants and shops.
Rooms: Big room, extra bed (sofa bed) was provided for our children. Room is cleaned every other day. Our designated floor housekeeper (she’s a filipina) is very good at detailing and always keep our room clean. Bring your important toiletries like toothbrushes as they are not provided in the amenities. Noise is blocked from the outside so it’s very good. Nothing exciting about the decor. Unlike those luxury hotels and accomodation that we have stayed in Asia.
FOOD: Happy hour is provided, complimentary drinks at the bar. Free snacks provided. Breakfast is a meh for us. Nothing exciting.
VALUE FOR MONEY: Prepare to spend a lot of money when you’re in Waikiki as it’s not cheap here. With the amount we pay for the accomodation, overall verdict is not really worth it. I guess, you only pay much because it’s near the beach and that’s about it. Inflation is really felt everywhere. Expect payingextra “resort fee” in your bill.
Overall experience in Waikiki, is still good enough. We’re from Australia, Gold Coast and we have the best beaches. And it’s free. But yet, it’s still a memorable aloha experience.

This hotel has a great location. The beach was very close, literally across the street. It was very busy, booked at capacity most of the time we were there. We had a two-bedroom, two-bath suite that was spacious and comfortable, with partial ocean views and a small balcony. The room was clean, housekeeping was extremely busy but so friendly. They left different treats in our room on several days. The bell desk gentlemen were so kind. The man that brought our luggage dropped it off and then sat down with us and asked what questions we had, what our plans were, and gave us great info on what was in the area and things we should be sure and see. Several times when we used Uber, the bell desk guys would check with us to make sure the addresses were correct and that the charges matched the average rate. Breakfast was great but crowded. Although the hotel was so busy, the staff never seemed rushed. Everyone was friendly and relaxed, taking time to answer questions and initiate conversation. The only complaint we have was that the mattress in the king room of our suite was not great. Other than that, we would stay here again. We spent the most on food while in Waikiki, so the free breakfast with omelets and eggs made to order was great, and the proximity to the beach (when the hotel across the street that was beachfront had rooms listed for over $900 per night) make this hotel a top choice.

What is the difference between Ocean View and Deluxe Ocean View?

Prob a higher floor but you would have to ask the hotel for sure. I love this hotel; the laid-back vibe as well as for proximity to walk the beach boardwalk when the sun goes down in the evening

I would say the pool view is less expensive because it tends to be louder due to the live music and crowds of guests at the pool. We stayed in February 2023 and October 2023, February we stayed in Hula tower with partial ocean view super high floor it was quiet and amazing. We had a really odd "city view" which was of a lower portion of a roof of the hotel and were moved to a "pool view" room as an upgrade in October and it was so loud and unpleasant. I would avoid pool view at all costs.
