Both the living area and bedroom are spacious and each room has a large screen TV, as well as a surprise TV in the bathroom. The kitchen has a fridge (with ice maker), microwave and a variety of plates, cups and utensils. This was perfect for morning breakfasts at the small table and chairs provided. The bed was quite comfortable, the AC worked well and there were multiple lighting options in each room. The bathroom was large, with dual sinks, a great shower, separate tub and two closets. The only slight downside is a balcony that is too small to sit out on, but again the view made up for it.
The front desk staff were very helpful with every request and any time I called housekeeping they responded quickly. The valet parking, while expensive, had prompt service and friendly attendants. The rooftop pool is small, so I wasn’t there a lot, but I spent a couple of late afternoons there sitting in the shade to have a drink and it was a pleasant spot.
I thought the location was perfect for a first-time visitor, as the main street of Waikiki is right outside with plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Yes, that comes with some late-night noise, but I didn’t find it difficult to sleep. It is also a couple blocks from a small beach or about a 10-minute walk to the main Waikiki beach area. I have stayed in many HGV properties and I have to say this location would be right at the top of my list. I hope to be back.
The resort is just minutes from the famous beaches and right across the street from the open-air and under cover Royal Hawaiian Center Mall area with anything and everything that one could possibly want to shop for, great restaurants, alternate routes to the beach and more just a short walk/roll away. The staff of the Hokulani was super friendly and accommodating and worked hard to make us feel welcome. The suite had everything we needed plus stunning views. Everything was clean and well appointed, and the rooftop swimming/hot-tub area and bar area offered a panoramic view of the area.
We even had a little excitement one evening from our sixth floor balcony overlooking the Royal Hawaiian Center when a fire evidently broke out in one of the small restaurants on the street facing us and the fire department swooped in with an impressive display of professionalism and expertise with multiple units responding and within a very short time had everything under control. The restaurant was even able to reopen a short time afterward; a further testament to the terrific first responders in keeping what could have easily been a tragedy or even a threat to every thing around it contained and with minimal damage.
When we needed the resort to hold onto our luggage for us because of a very late airline ticket home, they accommodated us with secure storage and assistance once we were ready to go. All in all, the Hokulani put the word "Grand" in Hilton Grand Vacations. I recommend the venue to anyone.

It is conveniently located, close to shopping, dining, beaches, as well as trolley and bus stops.
The rooms are very clean and you will have plenty of space.
There is no oven, but there is a stove. All four sets of cutlery are also provided.
There is no washing machine in the room, but there is a washing machine on the same floor that can be accessed with the room key.
Everything is perfect, but there is one problem.
That is the late night noise, which is something only a centrally located hotel is not responsible for.
The staff (manager Tomoko) solved this problem and turned our stay into something wonderful. Thank you so much for all your help.
She sincerely responded to our concerns that we could not sleep due to the street live music going on from 12am to 3am downstairs on the 4th floor, and moved us to a different room.
I would also like to thank staff member Cassel, who always has a warm smile on her face early in the morning.
He always answered our requests in fluent Japanese and everything was completed smoothly. Thank you very much.
We will definitely visit again next year and would like to thank you all for your hospitality.
The location is perfect: close to the beach and also all the shopping you will need. We also recommend that if you are arriving at odd hours, there is a 24 hour Denny's just down the street!
Just a word of warning, if you are driving, be prepared to pay $45 for valet parking, as it is impossible to find street parking nearby.

The staff were all lovely and smiley, and they spoke fluent Japanese, so even those who don't speak Japanese can feel at ease. (We did)
We had a few issues, but they were well taken care of.
The room was just the right size, and there was a mini kitchen, so we went to the nearby supermarket to buy groceries, and made full use of it. The heat seemed a little low at first, but it got stronger over time.
The shower had good water pressure, which was just how I like it 🚿
The bed was comfortable, and I was able to take a good rest.
The pool was on the top floor, and I was very satisfied with getting a good tan. (My boyfriend)
I'd definitely like to stay here again next time.
Thank you for your help‼️

The resort has a plunge pool with a bar, lounge chairs, and cabanas (each with its TV!) which are on a first come first served basis. The pool which is on the top floor has spectacular views of the Waikiki beach, The famous pink building of the Royal Hawaiian resort and the main street on Waikiki. However, this is a small plunge pool. Swimming is not possible.
The resort is centrally located, and peaceful to relax and unwind. It is very close to the heart of Waikiki, with its attractions, restaurants, dining, shops, and grocery stores. We enjoyed the local food; delicacies, we loved the Shave Ice, the Acai bowls and fresh seafood. Everything is within walkable distance; we loved our picturesque strolls and the gorgeous beach sunsets. Rental cars are needed if one is to explore beyond Waikiki. We enjoyed the local farmer’s market. The Saturday KCC farmers market for the local food, fresh tropical fruit, delicious papayas, pineapples, guavas, bananas, and fresh coconut water is always a wonderful experience. We used Uber to get to the KCC.
We love interacting with locals who are very friendly and full of Aloha, which always makes a visit to Hawaii special.
One of the best parts of our stay was the exceptional service from the entire staff, from the front desk to porters, maintenance, pool staff, housekeeping to management. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and genuinely interested in ensuring our stay was memorable. Since the resort is small the staff know the guests very well and that includes the management too, who interact with guests at social events and at other times.
Special mentions to the following friendly staff at Hokulani:
The GM Mitch is always looking to interact with guests, Front desk manager Tomoko, the exceptional front desk staff Marin, Nicole, Brian, Cassell and Yoko, Yoshiko from concierge. Housekeeping was wonderful, I wish I remembered the name of our housekeeper, who we were told was an employee for ten plus years, the pool, maintenance staff and bellhops.
Overall, our 5-week stay at Hokulani was wonderful, and we cannot wait to return. Mahalo to the entire team for making our stay truly unforgettable!
