In a destination that’s famous for being popular, the Shoreline is comfortable in its own skin. The hotel — 135 rooms over 14 floors — has a scale absent from most Waikiki Resorts, and the 1970s design creates a contemporary feel. Accommodations are bright and well‑appointed.

The Shoreline was a very pleasant surprise. We decided to try it as the price cannot be beat and heard good things on FB travel page and we were glad we did. The proximity to main area of Waikiki and the beach was perfect. Restaurants and shops all nearby. The canal was also very close a perfect spot to get our morning runs in. We were just so glad to be in the middle of everything.
The rooms were very small with not much storage for clothes but we made it work and it was by no means a dealbreaker. If you don’t like body wash bring a bar of soap, otherwise you’ll be fine. Small roof top pool was perfect to cool off quickly before getting ready for supper. Will more than likely return if I come back to Honolulu.

From jcheck in to check out, guest service employees were outstanding.
Rooms very clean, comfortable. Value is great due to the fact that hotels could be very expensive due to location.
Hotel is located central of Waikiki making it easy for walking to and from eateries, shopping, beach. Let’s talk about the bed, can I say “cloud 9”!
Rooms are very efficient AC is only turned on using a Room Key in a wall device that triggers it to stay on.

My husband and I live on island but needed a place to stay due to maintenance. We chose Waikiki because it's convenient for my husband who works for a local mobile accessibility company where he would need to deliver to clients at other hotels in the area. The entire staff was super friendly and very helpful. The front desk would greet us every time we passed through the lobby upon leaving or entering. The valet attendants were very attentive, friendly, and helpful every time my husband would need the van for work. We didn't want to eat out every night, so we would pick up prepared food from a nearby market and the front desk generously gave us paper plates to eat on from their own employee supply. We usually had the "do not disturb" sign on our door for most of our stay, and room service cleaning was also very respectful of our space. They would occasionally slide a courtesy card to make sure we were okay, which is really thoughtful. The hotel is in a great location, right on a side street to the main street. There's also an ABC store right across the street for water and other snacks/food.

It is important to know that some Hawaiian hotels charge very high property management fees. This even though you show up with a fully paid room reservation. If you go to Hawaii, be prepared for these pitfalls and to spend a lot. You paid for the room but not the hotel to get there..
This hotel asks 50 euros per night (plus cough obviously...we are still in the USA) for the services that the structure offers, excluding parking, another 40 euros + taxes per day. Fortunately there is a small public car park near the reception at 27 dollars a day. A few bucks saved.
At the reception a decidedly unkind lady becomes impatient, shouting that I only paid for the room (200 dollars a day) to which I should have added the parking at 45 dollars a day and now I'm asking for the same amount for the services offered by the structure??! ? To my knowledge only an indoor pool and a breakfast bar for an extra fee.
I didn't expect Aloha or flowers on the bed as often in other much more beautiful and less expensive countries.
The rooms of the structure have very bright colors, a basic 3-star room, very small in size, we are a few steps from Waikiki beach.
We had to ask him to change the linen.
Basic cleaning, even the red carpet masks a lot.
Light really too low.
Power outlets only on the table near the mirror, not next to the bed.
At the entrance after the question of the extra taxes, never a greeting at the exit or at the entrance.

Starting with the bad: I booked this hotel because of previous reviews that mentioned little perks that sounded so nice. NONE of those perks existed! There was NO Dole Whip sample or any for purchase. There were NO leis in the room. There were NO fresh fruit waters. Water is available, but it is plain water, in a kiosk that you have to scan a code to get. There were NO cute floaties in the pool, which isn't a big deal but would have been nice for photo ops. No microwave in the room, but one small one in the lobby for all of the guests to share. If you need a comfortable, clean, bare-bones, nothing-fancy hotel that is still cute, this one will work for you.

The good: The location can not be beat, you’re right in the heart of Waikiki within walking distance of so many restaurants, bars, activities, casual and upscale shopping, and the beach. Even with the bustling location it was quiet enough at night to get sleep. The hotel is very colorful and has a nice vibe. The price is right, and you get free admission to 2 museums, Bishops, and another I can't remember. There is a $5 credit for the attached restaurant, but we didn't make it in. I am a very low-maintenance traveler, so this hotel was great for my needs which was just a place to shower and sleep. If you like luxury and amenities, I would seek accommodation elsewhere.

Artsy and colorful with a vibe that is playful
and captures the Aloha spirit with unique surprises like, flavored / bubbly or still water machine, complimentary local sweet treats in the room, and aqua-zumba in the rooftop pool. to name a few.

I also appreciated the upcycled, local products featured in the lobby. Beds were firm and comfortable and the bathroom toiletries are refillable.

The location is super convenient to designer boutiques and shopping malls on Waikiki, as well as, the beach and canal trail. Perhaps best of all is the friendly and helpful staff, including efficient valet parking. Highly recommend.

Aloha, Just stayed for number of days and am very impress on the value this hotel offers. This had to be one of the best value 3+ stars hotel closest to the beach offering superior services (this is from all department from the front desk to house cleaning). Rooms are clean and they will make up your room by placing sign asking for cleaning; It’s not a traditional hotel as decors are funky, but you are not staying in the hotel all the time as plenty to do while in Waikiki. Also if you book directly with the hotel they will waive the resort fees (not sure how for how long and many hotels in Waikiki offers this, at least $30 saving per night). Ask for a high floor room as if you are lucky your room faces the beach you can relax on balcony watching sunrise or sunset. If one is to find something to complaint, its lack for beach chair and umbrella for use or rental. But for the resort fee saving you can easily go to Walmart and buy a beach chair and umbrella for $100 (around $50 per chair and $50 for umbrella). A must is have breakfast at Heavenly at it’ highly rated and lineup to get in every morning. This will be my go to hotel from now on. Again to all management and their hotel team thank you as your overall hospitalities makes my trip enjoyable. Mahalo

This is not a 3 or 4 star hotel! I was supposed to spend 6 nights at the Shoreline. I ended up staying 4 nights and that was 4 nights too many! Upon arrival I realized that the pictures on the travel websites and Shoreline's own website are very misleading. On the websites everything looked so bright and clean. In real life it was dark and dingy. I'll admit that the idea for the decor was well thought out and maybe looked nice when the hotel first opened, but that must have been many years ago. Upon booking, it stated on the booking.com website that the room was "newly refreshed". The room I got was far from refreshed. It had a king bed and the room itself was quite small. I arrived late (around 9 p.m.) after a long trip so I didn't complain that night. Once I woke up in the morning, I did some further investigation and was even more unhappy with my accommodations. When I opened up the curtains to let some light into the dark room (despite having all the lights on), I saw that my view was horrendous. My view was of a dilapidated, unsightly apartment building across the alley. I called the front desk to express my concerns and ask for a different room. The front desk clerk (Josh, I think) was very nice and was able to move me to a different room on the 13th floor (this is the 1st time I've been in a hotel that didn't eliminate the 13th floor). It was a wheelchair accessible room and was definitely larger than the previous room. The view was slightly better, but nothing to write home about. Again, there was nothing "refreshed" about this room either. Old, dingy and tired is how I would describe it. Also, every evening there was some sort of concert going on nearby (I'm not sure where) and it was very loud and completely audible from both my rooms (it's like I had front row seats). By my 3rd day, I called the front desk to ask what I needed to do to check out early. Since I had booked through a 3rd party, I had to contact them to start the process. I also had to give 24 hours notice, so the earliest I could check out was after my 4th night. I received a refund of the nightly fee (based on booking.com's prices) and prorated "resort fee" (this was hardly a resort). Anyway, all's well that ends well. I was able to complete the last 2.5 days and 2 nights of my trip at the Sheraton Waikiki. It was a thousand percent upgrade! Sometimes paying a little extra is definitely worth it.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay here greatly! The hotel room itself is pretty basic, but it's decorated in a fun, charming way that brightens your mood! The rooftop pool is an awesome location to swim if you're looking for something a little more private than the beach. One of the best parts about staying here is that a major tour bus pickup spot is right across the street. The location is incredibly walkable -- the variety of shops and restaurants within a ten minute walking radius is remarkable, not to mention proximity to Waikiki Beach! You'd think that being so close to everything would mean the location is loud, but it's tucked away just enough so that you don't hear the bustle. We would stay here again!
