This resort is in a great location within walking distance to so much shopping, restaurants, marina, and Waikiki Beach. You can easily access the public bus or hop on hop off trolley right outside of the resort. That way you can save on a rental car and parking. The resort has two pools, shops, and eateries. The hotel staff were friendly. My only issue is there were times we waited up to 10min for an elevator that wasn't full. Certain times of the day there is a lot of traffic on the elevators. We were on the 4th floor so we could use steps at time. Plus we still had a nice view from our balcony. Housekeeping did not clean our rooms due to covid although we were there one week. They should really make midweek housekeeping optional instead of not offering it at all. They did bring requested items such as trash bags, toiletries, towels as requested in a timely manner. Dave's ice cream shop in the resort was great! Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this resort and would definitely choose it again.

The self catering condo suite here had absolutely everything we needed. The fully stocked kitchen included a smoothie maker, pizza cutter, multiple pans, and chopping boards.
Balcony had view out over honolulu and was a great sun trap.
The staff working here were so friendly and thoughtful and generous. We landed 8am and went to register our arrival at hotel even though it was 9.30am ish. We didn't expect early check in as check in is 4pm. We were very tired, so we were absolutely chuffed to be given early check in straight away for free! We went straight up to room and slept.
We had to check out 2 days earlier than planned due to our government advice to come home. The gentleman I spoke to allowed me to make calls at reception and informed us we would not be charged for the 2 days we couldn't stay. They are brilliant.
Upon checkout, the manager and staff were really kind, allowed us to call Alamo on Kona to cancel our car hire.
We would 100% come back here when we next come back to Hawaii. Apartment is great, location is great, staff are great.

I am so glad that Hawaii is opening up but be sure that you READ every bit of information about Hawaii safe travel or you will not be allowed to get into Hawaii or check into this property.

Overall, our stay was not bad. Pros: Being able to cook meals was a huge savings, especially after we had to spend an additional $3K for the last min round trip back to LAX and extra covid tests. Location was EXCELLENT. The employees were all super nice and friendly! The lagoon and beach was spectacular. Cons: Getting towels was not easy or customer friendly. Too complicated. I had to wash 2 loads of towels during my 7 night stay. 317's coffee maker wasn't working. The parking by Red Lobster was about 8-10 min walk. The elevator was always busy.

Pro Tip #1: Buy groceries at Walmart. It's 70% of the cost. I would even buy souvenirs there. The one that is the closest to this hotel.
Pro Tip #2: Buy excursions in advanced. 2-3 months for Luau's and 1 month for other ones. We had no idea that it would be so hard to get bookings on the most popular excursions and activities.
Pro Tip #3: Use the bather's elevator. Seemed less crowded and folks kept calling it the "secret" elevator. It is less busy!

This place isn't luxury. I wouldn't stay here if I was on my honeymoon. For families on a budget, this place is definitely great and has all the amenities for a great family vacation.

This is the only time share, in Hawaii post COVID, we’ve stayed at that doesn’t offer a house keeping service during the stay. This was very unacceptable. Offering us a self cleaning kit is offensive considering you expect to have your suite cleaned during a 14 day stay.

The room consistently had a mold or mildew odour which I’d guess is from the carpets. This certainly affected our stay and is a health issue.

The bed sheets had permanent stains on them, despite being “cleaned,” and some of the appliances and dishes were not clean when we arrived. The shower curtain was dirty upon arrival as well.

The sofa had brownish stains and looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned since it was purchased.

We cooked most of our meals in the suite. When I asked for pot holders, I was actually told that Shell does not provide those and that I could use the tea towels. I was stunned with that response.

We are DVC members, but have stayed at a few non DVC resorts in Hawaii and Vegas last year, where house cleaning was provided. I know I’m not the only guest to complain about housekeeping not being provided.

As I said, when we complained, management offered me a self cleaning kit which was unacceptable.

I know for us, we’d never stay at this resort, or any Shell resort, in the future as we were told this is their policy.

I have been Worldmark by Wyndham owner for 26 years as well, I am also a Club Wyndham owner. Needless to say I have spent a lot of money over the years. I was not very happy with this resort/hotel location. Having to check out daily towels, set up a date for bathing towels or cleaning, having to personally pick up items because there is no staff, it was not what CW or Wyndham Destinations has provided at every other location I have been to. Parking was extremely inconvenient if you wanted to save $20 night or pay $45 night for valet. For the amount of money I pay in maintenance dues, close to $9000 year, should I really have to pay for parking? The extra expenses and inconveniences just took away from the Hawaii experience. It will not be a location I return to. Even in my update the guy that I spoke with even questioned why I would stay there. The update was short but he was not very friendly. I purchased twice this year to increase my credits and it seems once he knew I wasn't purchasing, I didn't mean anything. I felt more warmth and courtesy from the two ladies at the front desk that checked us in for the update. They were very helpful. I would not recommend this location to anyone. We stayed at the Shell Vacations in Kauai at Beachboy and it was a completely different experience. So, I know not all Shells have to be this way. Below are the ratings. Things are clumped together. So, for Service, the staff at check in were friendly. The inability to accommodate is due to the restrictions they have to work with. So the service being rated low is because of what cannot be provided not on how they treated me.

We loved our stay at The Waikiki Marina Resort at the beautiful IIikai hotel! This timeshare resort is located within a beautiful older, well maintained property in a great location. We had a wonderful view from our huge lanai.
Mahalo for the wonderful service too!

Overall we enjoyed our stay. However, there are a couple of things that need to be improved. As mentioned before the elevator was problematic. We were on the 9th floor, so stairs really were not an option. First off, they have a sign up that states there should not be more than 4 in the elevator. If that were the case, we would never get an elevator. Nobody followed that rule. Going down was almost impossible during peak times. By the time the elevator made it way down form the 24th floor to the 9th, there was no room. The other issue involved towels. We were a family of 4. They only wanted to exchange towels every 4 days. They did not give us enough towels for 4 days. I've never had a hotel that rationed towels like this. The restaurant was not fully open yet and the wait was much too long (90 minutes for breakfast). The coffee shop did have outstanding waffles and the wait time was much quicker. It was pricey (14 for a waffle), but so is everything else in Honolulu. Just some advice. If you would like to do any activities on the island plan well in advance. Most of the popular placed are not fully opened up and reservations should be made well in advance.

The bathrooms are dated. The grout is moldy. They only want to replace towels once in a week, which didn't work for us. The laundry is $2.50 if there were a washer and dryer in the unit I would have just washed the towels. They did allow me to exchange them, but threatened that the next time they would have to charge me. Other than that the stay was nice, the bed was comfortable and the sofa bed was nice for my kids. The beach is very Rocky near the hotel so you may need to go somewhere else. We found the best beaches on the North Shore and Turtle Bay. Overall the stay was nice.

Great place to stay with a cove right next to the property. 3 Turtles call it home, we saw them every day. Beautiful snorkeling with colorful fish and a spotted Eagle ray on the surf break of the cove. Perfect romantic Sunsets on the beach next to the marina. Try Basalts for Black Pancakes and be sure to go the little flea market on the other side of Kuhio Ave to get the "special morning price".

I stayed there from 10/29-11/1, should have been a week. Three days was all we could muster. When we checked in on 10/29/22 the sheets were dirty and when I called the check in I was told he could send sheets up. I explained I just checked in and I wasn’t about to change the sheets. He then offered to change rooms. This time the bathroom was filthy along with dead bugs in the fixtures. Called down there a second time and was informed this was the last room. A gentleman came up and cleaned the bathroom. This room had a soaking tub which if you are 4’11” it makes it an adventure to get in and out of. Now moving on to the air conditioner unit which was loud and always set on 65 despite what the reading said. So you could either freeze or turn it off and it be stifling in the room. The refrigerator had been emptied, but not cleaned, had an odor. No one bothered to put baking soda or something down the disposal either, that too smelled. This building is just old and clearly the rooms for the time share guests who book through RCI are not kept up with. They should be ashamed of themselves for still using this place, but are not.
Had our fill of filth and stayed at a clean and modern hotel. Avoid the Shell Vacations Club Waikiki Marina Resort at Illikai like the plague or Covid

My family of 3 (parents + teenager) were comfortable in our Waikiki Marina Resort room (double bed + pull out sofa bed), plus we appreciated the kitchen because we frequently had leftover food. It was probably a 5minute walk to the nearest beach, but the bus stop (including the hop on hop off) was just in front of the hotel

There are laundry facilities and I would suggest bringing your own detergent, as there wasn’t any in the room. The laundry machines are coin operated.
