Hotel clean and staff very helpful while MAC 24/7 has delicious food. The pool has temporarily been relocated to the ground floor while level 9 pool is being refurbished
Our check in was quick and easy after a 21 hour delay, Dexter who checked us in was lovely and first impressions was very good.
The hotel is tired in places and most of the draws within the room were broken and falling apart, booked a room for 4 people but had to keep asking for towels as kept leaving 3.
The pool area was well kept and my son loved the complementary crazy golf and games available around the pool.
Breakfast AVOID at all costs, we paid for breakfast and it was shocking during our stay they changed from the MAC restaurant to the buffet, the options were very limited.
I have a 5 year old son and as with most children they can be picky eaters, the one day for breakfast on the hot options they only had scrambled egg which tasted powdering and not very nice, bacon, waffles that had gone all hard and rice, not child friendly at all. Cereal was corn flakes, bran flakes or muesli, there was some frozen berry and strawberries that had seen better days and all bruised and squashy. So I asked for some sausages has they had been available the day before initially was told yes and then the food and beverage manager came over and declined to give my son any sausages, I explained my son isn’t the best eater and there is nothing else he would eat eventually after a lengthy conversation they agreed to do some sausages.
After a frustrating breakfast experience I returned to my room and a general manager called my room, I tried to explain the situation and the manager Henry Perez started to shout at me saying there is not a standard of breakfast at Hilton hotels, he wouldn’t allow me to speak and I put the phone done as his tone was aggressive and intimidating.
Whilst I was informed there isn’t a level of standard at Hilton, from my experience there is generally a good level of service which wasn’t experienced here. I did raise my concerns about it’s with another manager Joselyn and she did apologise but unfortunately Henry her boss never did for his totally unacceptable tone and behaviour.
I have works in customer relations for over 20 years and are very conscious there is a way to speak to people and this was not it, I could have understood if I was nasty but I wasn’t.
The main staff and great and I would suggest Henry takes a leaf out of their book!

I booked a city view, but was upgraded to a deluxe ocean view. I received mineral water at check-in, and there was a water server at the front desk, so I was able to refill my water every day and didn't have to buy water.
The size of the room is fine for a twin room. This time we stayed with two adults and one high school student, and there were two beds. Since it was a double bed, two people could sleep in one bed.
I didn't see any Japanese people in the hotel.
There were a lot of movies on TV, and not many news programs.
In addition, as a gold privilege, you get $18 x 2 per day instead of breakfast. However, since you have to use it each day, there were days when I didn't use it. You can use it at the restaurant MAC 24/7, the pool bar, the convenience store, etc.
You will be charged the room charge or the receipt when you check out.
The location is along Kuhio Avenue, and you can walk to the beach and the main shopping area. The trolley stop is right in front of the hotel which was very useful.

+ No room cleaning even with request. If you want to trash removed from the room, they want you to put the trash outside the room and someone will remove the trash.
+ If you want shower towels, you need to request them and is only available when you are in the room (again no cleaning)
+ Floor appeared to be sticky on bare feet, may be someone before spilled some coke and was not well cleaned.
+ Accessing elevators requires room keys, be very careful to get out without it even within the building
+ Swimming pool looks like personal sized pool we have at our home.
+ 24/7 Mac (@ hotel restaurant) is not worth it. Oil is greased so heavily on any food and food is not edible or pleasure to eat.
+ May be hotel is facing theivery apparently as per them, towels are RFIDed and tracked when used for pools or beaches.
+ No self parking available, at 50/night valet is available.
Overall other the staff, hotel badly needs rebuild and make it suitable to be a Hilton properly - easily worst Hilton building I had visited.
The customer service is just rude and it felt like I was a nuisance to them.
Food was subpar and completely disjointed from the price. Infrastructure is not only old, but it looks like it lacks maintenance.
The airport shuttle that they're partnered with will leave you stranded in the airport, not reply any emails or phone calls.
Room amenities are lacking, basic stuff like bedroom slippers, toothpaste, proper soap, razor. Even a budget hotel like premiere inn would offer these.
There's not a single microwave in the entire hotel, which is actually funny.
The bar closes very early, which makes the pool experience kinda pointless in a holiday, and the bar fridge is miniscule.
In Waikiki, where prices are rising rapidly, it is difficult to stay at an oceanfront hotel casually.
I am a Hilton Diamond member, so I think of Hiltons wherever I go, but I recommend this place in Waikiki.
It's on Kuhio Avenue, and the trolley bus stop is right in front of me.
It's in a good location, a 7-8 minute walk from the center of Kalakaua Avenue.
The rooms are divided into ocean side and mountain side, but the ocean side has a great view during the day, and the mountain side has a beautiful night view.
They don't speak Japanese, but the staff are all nice.
There is a take-out coffee house that serves Starbucks, but it is only open in the morning, so I hope they will improve that.
The pool is small, but at night the fireplace is lit and it turns into a nice space.
It's undeniable that it's old, but the facilities have been renovated moderately, which is nice, but the closet is inside the bathroom, which is a bit of a problem.

A hotel which is below Hilton standards. It was quite dirty in public areas (please see attached pictures). Also, radical cost cutting measures are in practice, as housekeeping is cleaning the rooms only on every 4th DAY ONLY! Maybe that is the reason that the property is so gross. If you book with breakfast included, they give coupons for the first 2 people in the reservation only, and they inform you about this at the welcome message only! That breakfast is also very limited, includes about 6-8 items from the main menu and they are the cheaper ones (see pictures). They force you to choose between orange juice and coffee without extra charge. I like to enjoy coffee right when I wake up and when bringing the coffee to the restaurant which I prepared in their own rooms with the machine and pods they provide the restaurant manager (guy with black hair) says: “ no outside food or drink is allowed”. What? Are you kidding me? I have never been such hotel in the entire world before. The glass “decoration” in the lift lobby is falling apart (please see pictures), and it’s not just aesthetically unpleasing but also a safety hazard as there are several screws missing. Imagine if that falls off, maybe even on a child. This is unacceptable!
As I received a room on a low floor and at the end of the corridor the ice machine was quite close, and it was very noisy and disturbing at once.
Ishmael in the restaurant was very unfriendly, I can say rude as well.
I booked the room on booking.com. Right after the free cancellation passed, they discounted the same room by approx. $1000. This also shows how they treat guests!
Late checkout is not an option even for an extra fee, so you have to check out at 12 noon…
They charge $25 resort fee per night for basically nothing, they say that’s why wifi is included.
Other Hilton properties in mainland US perform much better in every aspect! Please avoid this hotel as in this price category you can find other even 5 star properties!
