When I arrived under my timeshare with RCI, I was appalled on how disgusting this place was. The room was old and outdated, the shower had mold in it. There was roaches in our room. The premises needed much attention with cleaning and maintenance repairs. There is a club underneath that is open until 0400 then the workers start cleaning and power washing the area underneath for stores at 0600 and of course the wallls are so thin you hear everything so you don’t have much quiet time at all. They have a kitchenette here but with roaches running through the unit I would never take the risk of getting sick and utilizing it. Not a recommended place at all!! The location is great but considering we pay the same fee to stay somewhere else I would definitely pick somewhere else!

Never staying again at this hotel and I would not recommend anyone else to stay here either. We saw at least 5 cockroaches during this stay within just 2 days (and that was just for the few hours we were in the room). I wonder how many there actually were...I talked to the front desk about this and they were super rude and did not do anything to help. The lady (she said she was the reservations manager) was very rude and said she saw a cockroach at her home while taking a shower in the morning so we should be okay with seeing the cockroaches at the hotel as well. She also said other hotels in the area will have cockroaches but I stayed at Hyatt Centric Waikiki just down the road for a couple days before staying at this one and did not see any cockroaches. The lady said the most she can do is put traps under the bed, we said yes but no one came to put the traps in our room. I currently have been itching all over my body and have small red bumps probably because of the cockroaches. I talked to Agoda (booking website I used) about this and they said they talked to the property but the property denied that we ever came to the front desk to talk to them about this…I have sent pictures and videos as proof to Agoda and the hotel staff (Tiffany) is still blatantly lying and denying cockroaches. Very disrespectful staff who does not want to take responsibility and does not care about customers.

Over all we would never go back to this hotel......it is not a resort. The surrounding area is in a old neighbourhood it is about 3 to 4 blocks away from the beach. It is just off the main street which is very busy and noisy.

The staff was very nice and helpful. However this resort/condo is so old and outdated. No balcony or pool to relax outside. While in the room we felt like we were in a dark dungen. The night club below this resort goes until 4 am in the morning which is crazy. And at 530 am we would hear the garbage trucks banging the garbage cans. Also we would never recommend RCI to anyone. This was our first experience booking with them and it costs us so much more money for this old resort, and it was our only option for booking. There were no other hotels to book with RCI in Oahu for those dates we were looking at or any other date and I even checked 2 years in advance and the only resort to show up was Kuhio Banyan. And in comparing other hotels in the area, outside of RCI, we could have stayed at a very nice hotel with a balcony and a pool for the same amount of money or even less. Too expensive for what you get. When we signed up with Unlimited vacations we made it very clear that we like to vacation in Hawaii, more that using all inclusive resorts in other areas, and the representatives convinced us that we would have no issues vacationing in Hawaii with all the weeks we would get with RCI. However they failed to inform us of all the extra fees and costs with transferring weeks and admin fees, etc.

do more research before booking. This is not what the pictures show the resort to be.. Compared to Las Vegas places available from RCI this place was definitely substandard. I would not advise anyone to book this place. Bugs made showed up the last day.

This is my second time staying at the Kuhio Banyan Club. The unit was outdated but clean. The AC and room was quiet enough considering the location of the resort (above very busy part of Waikiki). My main concern whenever I visit Hawaii is roaches. I saw NONE at the resort/unit. This resort is right across the International Marketplace. It is very centrally located! It's an easy walk to the beach, shopping, dining, bar hopping. However, parking is VERY difficult if you rent a car. There is a mandatory fee for beach equipment rental whether you use it or not. The unit felt secure with the downstairs blocked off from Playbar (below) and it requires a key to enter the premises. Staff was very friendly including their security and housekeeping.

Hotel needs to be renovated, the house cleaner was a sweet lady and did a good job cleaning up. We had ask for room service two days prior. The front office staff said it was miscommunication. We think the resort was short staffed. Overall front desk staff was friendly but should have policy’s in place to insure customers are able to add tax exemption.

This is not a resort. The building is old and rooms are dated. There is no balcony and the building backs up to a ghetto looking apartment building. If you are looking fir a cheap room in Waikiki, then this is an option.

Not worth it unless you want to walk to Waikiki beach for the whole trip. No parking and no agreement for parking discounts anywhere- no extras really not a place to stay if you want to go anywhere aside the waikiki beach or a few block radius- the resort fee is a scam- this place is NOT a resort-

Once in life trip. Took family and new wife for honeymoon. I could not believe how poor this location is. It is very outdated and in poor condition. The neighborhood is very unsafe after dark. This should NOT be listed!!
