Detailed Reviews
I read some bad reviews on this place but my wife and I thought it was great. We had just been on a cruise around Hawaii and the room was about 8 times larger than our cabin.
Staff are all very friendly.
The building is beautiful with a lot of olde world charm with ornate ceilings and plenty of granite.
Free wifi was fast ( unlike what a bad reviewer said) . Laundry washing machines and driers are free to use ( just need washing powder ). Gym was pretty good . Has games room with pool table . Heated pool.
You have to pay for parking if you have a car unless you walk miles away looking for a free park.
Bus stop is quite close by .
The big Ala Moana shopping centre is 20 to 30 mins walk away.
Free one bag of microwave popcorn in room. No kettle or tea bags . Some coffee for the dripper machine . Water pressure and shower were fine.
Bit of a over powering smell of carpet deodoriser .
Would have been good to have a kitchen hot plate . No daily room service but that’s good for the environment. No tea towel ( just paper towels ) so it is hard to dry the dishes .

Recent heated poor upgrade. Free laundry facilities. Ice machine and filtered water provided.Reasonable studio size for two adults only with kitchenette..no cooktop. It has microwave ,small fridge and cutlery. They provide detergent for wash up but bring your own washing glove .Recommend to bring your own shampoo/conditions and body wash gel if you have a sensitive skin and dry skin. Their supplies is no brand and tough for the skin. Room decor is old but clean. The property is in the local residential zone so the surrounding is old ,insufficient street lights and quiet in the evening. It is at far end of Waikiki and so good 15 minutes walk from the main strip. Good resort but the location is not the best.

We had the ‘studio’ which in reality was a hotel room with plates and flatware, has a mini fridge and small microwave, no cooktop.
Room was clean and quiet. Hotel interior looks very nice. Pool is small but wet, and there’s two 2-person dry saunas.
There is a comfortable media lounge, which includes a nice massage chair.
Staff was very good.
The walk to the beach is about 10-15 minutes, and felt safe.
TIP: when you have an evening flight home and check out at 10 AM your day is not shot. They’ll secure your bags, let you check out some towels, head to the beach and relax…when you get back they’ll let you use a curtesy private shower area.

Pros: it’s clean. WiFi is fair. The valet parking guys were very helpful and pleasant.
Cons: rooms are small. No housekeeping and if you ask for something like clean towels the service is poor (they did give us new towels but didn’t take away the old). Poor cold water pressure. Noisy plumbing. Kitchen has just two of each item. Refrigerator is small and doesn’t work well. Tiny balcony you share with a noisy a/c unit. Crane your neck to see a sliver of ocean. Pool and surrounding areas run down and unattractive. Valet parking at $32/day is required if you have a car. They’re going to try to sell you a timeshare and given this hotel, I doubt they’ll be very successful.
In summation, there a tons of better places in the periphery of Waikiki. Go some else unless you get a fantastic deal on price.

First of all we booked this accommodation under the impression that it had a kitchen, as it was mentioned on expedia at the time of booking (and this studio was not a timeshare) we arrived, and there was no stove! but still mentioned on expedia that there is cookware???
we later asked one of staff member and they said the kitchen plan didn't get approved!! this was very disappointing...
the concierge staff gave us a gift '$100 off Luau' and free lunch, but failed to mention that we had to sit in on presentation for over 90 minutes!!! so be ware of this, they will offer you other things too, so there will always be a catch! we've learnt our lesson.
they also said to us that the parking at Luau is free, but when we arrived the parking warden said it was $5, now it is not about the money, it is about giving us false information, we had no trust really in what the staff say, so will be careful from now on and read reviews more thoroughly

This was a first time visit to Waikiki beach. I only looked at the map of surrounding businesses/restaurants etc. I rented a car to get around town, but wasted my money on the rental. Anything you could imagine is within walking distance. My son and I visited for his 12th birthday. Wyndham's staff were very friendly, from the valet, desk clerks, to the groundskeeper. I mentioned to a groundskeeper how beautiful the garden was, and he beamed with delight. The place was clean and very tidy. The offer free laundry washing/drying, which made it easier to travel home with clean clothes, pool area and grilling areas. The rooms were clean. View of the canal was really nice. I loved this place and would book another trip if ever in Waikiki again.

My wife and I enjoyed everything about our stay. This was by far the best Wyndham property I’ve stayed in! Our studio room was very nice, comfortable and clean. EVERY staff member was outgoing, friendly and helpful. We liked being one block off of the Main Street, and only a four block walk to the heart of Waikiki beach. We found the city bus to be a good transportation option in town, and did not need the hassle and expense of a car rental. Although Wyndham does not have airport shuttle service, they scheduled a private shuttle for us that was half the cost of cab fare.

We had a great week at Royal Garden. As others have stated, the hotel is not in the thick of the Waikiki beach crowd but is a very short walk to everything. We had views of the neighboring canal (11th floor). I would say the room is not "magnificent," but it is very nice and no complaints. We really had no issues all week. We enjoyed having a safe, coffee pot, refrigerator, microwave and full sets of dishes and silverware. We didn't have housekeeping all week due to Covid but any time we asked for supplies, such as towels, coffee, etc., they were provided immediately. We called the desk twice for items and received them within minutes. The staff was friendly, and we appreciated being able to leave our bags with the hotel on our last day since our flight was in the evening. I would recommend the Cream Pot nearby if you want a delicious (if somewhat pricey) breakfast in a fun setting. Surprisingly one of our best meals was at The Cheesecake Factory, a short walk away. The crusted salmon was divine! We walked to the Ala Moana Mall and enjoyed browsing some of the shops and restaurants there. We took a tour to Pearl Harbor and an around the island all day tour, both great. We did not rent a car and were glad as Uber easily took us back and forth from the airport and we enjoyed walking in Waikiki. (Parking at the hotel is $38 per night, I believe.) We learned much more on our bus tours than if we drove plus it was more relaxing.

The room was clean and the bed was really comfortable. The kitchenette was extremely helpful, especially for breakfast. The bathrooms are due for an update but it was clean and had everything we needed.
The pool is small, nothing to write home about.
The location is close enough to get around all of the Waikiki area by bike or on foot.
Definitely recommend this location, it’s great for the price.

Stayed here in October of 2019. This hotel was beautiful and comfortable. Like all timeshares, you get hit with quite a few pitches to buy but that's to be expected. The rooms are quite big with a small kitchenette. The bed was very comfortable and generally very clean. The shower and bathroom were updated and I have no complaints at all. The location of the hotel is probably my chief complaint due to it being a little off of the beaten path. In reality the walk to Waikiki beach took about 10-15 minutes, similarly to the main strip of restaurants and shopping area. This could easily be mitigated if you got a taxi or uber. The hotel staff were very helpful; and accommodating. Whenever my wife or I needed anything the staff was great. They also have a laundry area and offer free laundry detergent. I never used the pool, however it looked nice, as did the workout room.
The biggest compliment I can give is that I would happily stay here again. I highly recommend this hotel especially if you are traveling with a family.
