The Paniolo is a charming boutique Honolulu hotel located on Waikiki’s “Upper West Side” where you will find an abundance of restaurants, easy access to one of the world’s largest shopping malls, a quick stroll to the beach and gorgeous sunset views. This Honolulu Hotel is Waikiki’s only “North Shore connection,” as the ownership company also manages a magnificent 100-acre stretch of completely unspoiled beachfront property along O‘ahu’s North Shore. This is the home of the Hawai‘i Polo Club where polo matches, polo lessons and spectacular trail rides become available to hotel guests. We encourage our guests to make the beautiful drive to the hotel’s sister property on the North Shore for a day of riding, picnicking, swimming or beachcombing.
The Paniolo Bar & Cafe is open daily from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm. Get an early start with hand-crafted artisan coffee and pastries served from morning till noon. Come back for happy hour with creative cocktails and drinks at night. Enjoy live music every Friday starting at 6:00 pm.
We needed a place to stay for two weeks while we visited our kids and grandkids in Honolulu, near Waikiki. We wanted something simple and inexpensive but clean and comfortable (we didn't want a fancy, large hotel), and having free off-street parking was really important. Paniolo was perfect for us! Rene was warm and welcoming after our long trip from Philly, and continued to be attentive and helpful throughout our stay. There's a sweet little cafe/bar on the first floor where you can stay to have breakfast or grab some coffee, and which becomes a lively little bar at night. The parking situation is kind of an adventure (there are a limited number of spaces in the hotel's parking lot, but if you miss them, you can park in the adjacent parking garage, but someone has to let you in and out)--but Clarence and Wayne were incredibly friendly and helpful and we never had a problem. Julia, one of the baristas, was so sweet and accommodating that we wanted to adopt her. We didn't spend a lot of time in our room since we were visiting family, but it was clean and comfortable with good TV and wifi reception. There is some noise from the street (it's Waikiki after all), but with the air conditioning on, we slept well. We will stay at the Paniolo whenever we come to visit our kids. Many thanks for a great visit!…
This place is right by Ala Moana canal and Ala MOana beach, which is one of the premier beaches in Waikiki area. Waikiki beach is few minutes drive away. There are lots of restaurants around this place. The best thing is parking, you have guaranteed parking validated in the garage with 2 or more nights reservation. This facility is not easily available at other BnBs. The front desk receptionists are very hospitable and let me checkin coupla hours prior because I had appointments to run to and wanted to keep my luggage. Shoutout to Rene and Kollett who were very hospitable and accomodating at the front desk- Mahalo! I highly recommend this place.
We stayed here for about a week. The room we had was on the corner end so it was extremely loud all Hours of the day and night. Horribly loud. The room was old, carpeting and everything needs to be updated. The staff was super friendly and the Paniolo Cafe on the lobby level has fabulous food and great lattes!
I come here once a week from Maui and I’d rather stay here than any ritzy hotel. It’s got a very local welcoming feel and it’s so homey. It’s like staying with family. They are family run and you can feel it. I also love that they give you a free drink at the bar when you check in. The Paniolo is my home away from home. 5 stars alllll the way! P.S. Auntie Renee at the front desk is the best!
Loved our stay from start to finish. We were greeted with a warm reception and yummy cocktail after a long day of travel. Our room on the 9th floor was clean, bed comfy and our little balcony even had a water view, which was totally unexpected. The location is excellent - right between Ala Moana & Waikki, lots to do, see and eat within walking distance and the bus stop is only a 4 minute walk from the hotel. We would certainly book here again when coming to Honolulu.
