My stay at The Outrigger's Beachcomber was nothing short of spectacular! The location is absolutely perfect, providing easy access to the beach and local attractions. The front desk agents were exceptional—always available, smiling, and genuinely willing to help with anything we needed.

The rooms were spotless, thanks to the fantastic housekeeping team who kept everything in top shape throughout our stay. We especially loved the cozy café next to the pool, where we enjoyed excellent coffee every morning.

A special mention goes to the Sales department, who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Their dedication and attention to detail were truly impressive.

Overall, our experience at The Outrigger's Beachcomber was stunning. Thank you to the entire Outrigger's team for making our stay unforgettable! We can’t wait to return.

Recently stayed on property at the Beachcomber in the middle of the COVID19 Pandemic and was very impressed with the hotel and its staff. Their commitment to keeping guests safe during this global pandemic was apparent with the safety protocols they set up and their commitment to keeping the area clean and safe for visitors.

Recently renovated, the rooms and hotel amenities still have that "new car" smell and feel with exceptional attention to detail in its decor creating a modern yet traditional vibe. The stunning views from the balcony are perfect for taking in a Hawaiian sunset and also provides a perfect set up for working remotely with a killer view.

The Beachcomber's location on the '50 yard' line in Waikiki makes it the perfect location for exploring the most iconic stretch of beach and travel spot in Hawaii... everything is within walking distance. However, you really don't need to venture too much with Maui Brewing Co and Hawaiian Aroma cafe located on the property offering great options for food and drinks! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the island or for locals residents like myself looking for a weekend getaway.

Large family group of 9 we had booked 3x ocean view rooms on the top level
(2500, 2501 and 2503) conjoining rooms that are great for families.
First of all the rooms are beautiful, functional, modern and extremely clean. The hallways to our rooms were bright and clean. I could probably hands down say that the rooms are nicer than the big hotels across the road on the beach as we have stayed many times at them all. Which for us made up for the fact we weren’t staying on the beach. It didn’t even matter and was still a fantastic location.
The house keepers were always lovely, patient and understanding with our babies nap times.
The pool area is lovely but as expected like most hotels in Waikiki the pools are small. Not a deal breaker because your right across from the beach.
Love that the hotel has laundry facilities on the parking level because I’m not a fan of bringing home dirty laundry or having damp clothes all through the room.
A big THANK YOU to the staff for retrieving an expensive baby swimming costume that flew off the balcony and onto the roof because we didn’t secure it properly.
Only a couple of negatives the front desk staff were not that pleasant or welcoming which was disappointing. We found them quite patronising and would suggest that maybe they take a leaf out of their wonderful housekeeping staffs books that will make a massive difference in their customer experience.
The escalator leaving the hotel going to the street was out of service the entire time which meant you had to wait for the lift which was always busy.

However overall I would highly recommend staying here it was a great stay.

Fourth trip to Hawaii & we opted to stay in 2 separate hotels to get a different feel for Waikiki. Hotel #1 (Waikiki Beachcomber Outrigger) is strategically located to all the great food & shopping, beach is only 1 block away.

Hotel was immaculate & recently renovated, its in a high traffic & well lit area so we felt safe. Check-in was a breeze with very friendly staff. Room was contemporary & had that tropical feel. We booked a partial ocean view king, from the balcony we got a small glimpse of the Pacific. Furnishings were adequate & functional: Keurig, fridge, ironing board, hair dryer and most importantly a safety box. Walk in shower was small but newly renovated with vinyl materials. Bathroom was tight, a tall individual can sit on the toilet while brushing your teeth or shaving. Second thought that's an ingenious design.

The mattress was comfy & medium firm, pillows were quite fluffy & plushed. I have bad back, the chiropractors recommended thinner pillows so these were not the most ideal for me. I slept well nonetheless. Double curtains were highly effective in blocking out lights. We used the swimming pool & gym once, both requiring rsvp due to COVID restrictions. We didn't try Aroma Cafe or the restaurant across the lobby, but I liked their open air setting & fun vibes.

Duke's lane, International Market, Royal Hawaiian Center all are next door. For Coffee addicts there are Island Vintage Coffee & Kona Coffee Purveyers nearby, the latter also has legit French pastries. Other good eats next door included Cheesecake factory, Wolfgang Steakhouse, Tim Ho Wan Dim Sum Specialist (must try their baked BBQ pork bun), 1849 (sister restaurant of Roy's), Marukame udon, Island Vintage shaved ice, Sam' kitchen garlic shrimp, Meguro Brother poke, etc. There were tons of other high quality Japanese options in Royal Hawaiian Center (RHC) across the street. For those with limited budget there is a food court as well as a separate food hall on the 2nd floor of RHC, the latter with some descent selections. Inside the Intern Market there were also plenty of options.

Overall it was an excellent hotel in a convenient location. We were not too thrilled about the $103 resort fee for 3 nights, but that seems to be the norm for most hotels in the area.

We arrived on the 29th December 2019 and stayed for 18 days with my husband and 2 teenage boys. We were here before the renovations 2 years ago and as soon as we arrived the place looked amazing.
The front desk staff were all great but our favourite was Kristina she was by far the BEST because of her bubbly, helpful, friendly personality.
The outrigger designers have put in so much effort into the decorating of this hotel, every floor has a special feel about it.
We were given a map of where the free Outrigger connection Trolley goes and believe me we used it everyday ( just present your room key) you just need to be staying at an Outrigger to use it .
We also felt really safe with the hotels 24 hour security guards making sure only hotel guests were allowed to use the lifts
We were on floor 8 room 810 overlooking the ocean, we couldn’t have asked for a better room. Everything was renovated beautifully we even had a coffee pod machine, ironing board and iron.
And our fantastic, friendly housekeeper Maricon was a superstar and grabbed me a soft pillow when I told her that the pillow was a little too firm, she had our comfortable beds made and room sparkling clean everyday, we didn’t want to leave she made us feel like part of her family.
Another mention is to the manager Ike Crockett that handed us a letter while we were there, on behalf of all the staff with their heartfelt condolences regarding the devastating bushfires in Australia,
And a BIG, BIG thank you to James at Concierge and Tammy in the cafe.xxx
THANK YOU, it was really comforting to know you were all thinking of us.
We will definitely be coming back to visit our Beachcomber Ohana.

Mahalo

We have had a lovely stay at this hotel, I always knew it was on the main road across from beach when I booked it and checked it’s location so didn’t expect full on ocean view rooms and descriptions of partial view is exactly what we had from our balcony.
The staff are all so friendly and the rooms spacious modern and so clean, the staff cleaning the rooms are so tidy and ever so friendly, we had three rooms for our family all on same level and we will definitely come back as it is so central to everything, beach is across the road all restaurants are a so close.
You don’t need a car just catch the trolley around Waikiki and walk everywhere else.

Thanks to all the team at Waikiki beachcomber by outrigger we have enjoyed our time Away!

Upon checking in to another hotel in Waikiki, that room was not fit for me and my family to stay at. The rooms were not clean, the furniture was old & broken, and the bathroom looked like a public restroom, not a hotel bathroom. I had to get out of that hotel at all costs. I only made a reservation at this hotel because the Waikiki Beachcomer was already sold out. I walked over to the Waikiki Beachcomer, a hotel that I've stayed at before, and went to the front desk and spoke with Kiana, the front desk manager. I told her my situation and she worked with me to see if there were any available rooms that night, my first night in Hawaii. After 30 minutes, Kiana found a room that was available for the duration of my vacation so I booked it. I went back to the other hotel to cancel my reservation there. Though I had to pay a penalty for the cancellation, it was worth it to get my family to a quality hotel to make this vacation a memorable one. I especially want to thank Kiana for her outstanding customer service to help me and my family get a room here and enjoy our stay at this hotel. She made sure that all of our needs were taken care of. The location is in the center of Waikiki, where you get get to many restaurants and stores to shop at. The rooms are clean, the hotel is clean, the hotel staff is friendly and willing to help you any way they can. I will stay here every time I visit Honolulu!

We have just returned from spending 8 nights at the Beachcomber and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Location was perfect, above Macy’s, across the road from the Cheesecake Factory etc.

PRO’S

Location
Friendly Staff
Safe. Security Staff monitoring who enters the hotel
Clean modern rooms

CONS

We booked a luxury escape package for 2 adults and 1 child but our room on arrival only had 2 double beds so the bed was a bit small for a couple. We would have preferred a queen and a single.

The luxury escapes package included breakfast but we were told the child (14) was only entitled to cereal or toast and no drink! I’m sure they could throw in a small juice or a hot chocolate for the children?

The aroma cafe was just ok. We had breakfast there daily and our orders were wrong on numerous occasions. We also spent some time there most afternoons and found the happy hour cocktail list never changed in the 8 days we were there. Would have been nice to see a bit more variety at happy hour.

Having stayed at Trump and Embassy Suites in the past we think the Beachcomber was a nice place to stay and we would stay there again, I just would book direct with the hotel request a larger room and have breakfast elsewhere.

Booked a oceanview suite. When we arrived our room faced the city (could see no water from in the room). I questioned the oceanview room to be told the view is only from the balcony (we didn't book partial view) . The balcony doesn't even face the water and was so tiny and unpleasant you wouldn't go out there. The room is clearly not a Waterview so don't be conned if that's what you think you are paying for.

The elevators are terrible and slam shut. I was hit so hard by one my coffee spilt all over me and the lift as I walked in.

The pool is small and was usually crowded.

The front desk staff are very friendly and the best part of the place. The room is nice enough but thinking we had a Waterview for our holiday and being what I believe as tricked really turned me off. Location is good but there are plenty of other options where you actually get a view from your ocean view room. We won't go back simply because I don't like The dishonest approach to categorising their room. Others may be happy here knowing ahead of time what to expect.

Stayed at this hotel for 8 nights and from the start to the end we had an excellent experience. This hotel is across the street from the beach in a central location to restaurants shopping etc. (Best location in my opinion and no need to book a hotel that's on the beach). We had Michael check us in and he was awesome the whole trip. He helped us with places to go for activities and tips and tricks in the area. He really went above and beyond for his job. The rooms are very nice, we had a partial ocean view and it practically had a full ocean view. We had breakfast at the Aroma Cafe every morning included in our room package and it was very good. Trolley service was awesome it goes everywhere you need and is included in your amenities fee. Overall a great hotel to stay and good value for the money you pay. The only thing I would warn about is the Concierge that is in the hotel and outside works for Expedia so they try to sell you their packages and do not provide any value to our stay. (ask the front desk for restaurant or activity ideas)
