The Ritz residences Waikiki is a special place. 5 star level of service across the board, as well as luxury level furnishings in the room. Miele appliances, a luxury level bathroom and a mattress you would hope to have at home. I traveled only for a few days, not a “real” vacation and was looking for a place I could work in the mornings, cook myself breakfast, hit the gym and have a little relaxation in the afternoons. I am from the east coast, so it was early to bed. The Ritz hit the mark for me. This is my fourth trip to Hawaii and the only one that was not for a 10+ day multi island vacation. If I was visiting Hawaii for a full vacation, I would stay at the Ritz Residences, if I was looking for; a place at the end of my trip in Honolulu, with ability to do laundry and not go home with suitcases of dirty clothes, prepare food without going out to eat, a location not on the beach with luxurious pool and spa, centrally located to the best shops and restaurants, a room with separate living and sleeping spaces. If you have not traveled to Hawaii, Honolulu is a city on the beach, not what you may think about when planning a Hawaiian vacation. It is worth the visit to see Pearl Harbor, the north shore, dole plantation and Waikiki. That said, I would not plan to spend more than 3 nights in Honolulu. The traffic rivals Boston and it is very crowded. I would end your trip here (mostly for the ease of flights from Honolulu to the mainland) and start it on the Big Island, Maui or Kauai. There are amazing Marriott properties on all of the islands with true beach hotels that are amazing. If you are going to Honolulu, in my opinion, no need to stay on Waikiki, as the beach is not the main attraction. If you are looking for 5 star level of quality and service, a refined resort, amazing spa and exceptional customer service, the Ritz Residences Waikiki is the best and you will not be disappointed. One thing I will call out, this is not a “party” atmosphere, there is not a beach or pool bar, no restaurant or food options between 3:30 and 5:00 each day. There is room service available, but if you are looking for that beach or pool bar for happy hour and this is key, you should look elsewhere this is not your place. If I return to Honolulu the Ritz will be my first choice, no question. Hint, if you have prime, you can do a Whole Foods order and the bell desk will deliver to your room!

Outstanding! My friends were in a two bedroom two bathroom unit on the 31st floor and I was in a standard room on the 28th floor. Service was outstanding in every area. We loved the adult pool and the snacks they brought every few hours. Housekeeping was in about twice a day. Had dinner at Quiora which was really good and a great view. Friends had the pre fix steak meal for 2 and there were leftovers for the next day. I had pasta which I loved. Bed was very comfortable. Three easy blocks to the beach and concierge will give you beach towels. Walking distance to everything you could want. Valet was always fast. Between Dean and Deluca and the Island Market on the ground floor of the property, you almost don't need to go anywhere else for food.
Two small things: we didn't like any of the craft cocktails that were 20+ each. Also, right behind the pools one level down is an alleyway which is behind some shops and restaurants. Every morning, the dumpsters get emptied between 600-700 a.m. and woke me up. I am an early riser, so maybe that's why I heard it, but worth noting. The property is spendy (anywhere between 800-2500 per night depending on room category), but I would find a way and stay again!

The hotel is very nice and the standard of room was lovely, where I believed the hotel let itself down was the service provided. You could not use the facilities of the Spa ie steam room or sauna unless you paid for a spa treatment. Our room was not cleaned until late afternoon and as we were suffering jet lag we were out sightseeing very early in the morning so wanted to relax in our room in the late afternoon. We requested a service before midday, however after two days this still wasn't being actioned so I again phoned down to reception and like before was informed the staff were busy and I could talk to them through the Marriot Bonvoy app. I went downstairs to see reception personally and after a 5 minute wait spoke to one of the receptionists, who was very accommodating and organised the room to be serviced every morning from that date. The hotel is a very good standard and what you would expect from The Ritz Carlton. However although the staff were courteous when you requested something it wasn't followed through which definitely left me with a feeling of being underwhelmed.

Don’t get me wrong, the only reason why I don’t leave 5 stars is because this Ritz Carlton is overpriced compared with other Ritz Carltons I’ve stayed at in different countries. The nightly rate is the highest but the whole hotel area’s the smallest.
This hotel’s located at the beginning of Waikiki so it’s less crowded and quieter. The bus stop’s right outside the hotel so it’s very convenient. Shops and restaurants are everywhere as well. Something I specially want to highlight is the food quality and service of their French restaurant La Vie—- everything’s top-notch! Every single dish was introduced and explained in detail when serving. I first thought the food wouldn’t be filling (typical perspective when it comes to French cuisine), I was actually wrong. The whole dinner’s so satisfying. My friends and I were actually quite full. Since this restaurant’s located on the lower floor, there’s no view at all.
If you ask me, I wouldn’t want to stay in this hotel again (only because of their price. I can have better choices tbh). However, their rooms and amenities are very new and modern since this is a new hotel in Waikiki (most of the hotels in Waikiki are very dated).

I stay with my wife end of July 2024, the room located in diamond tower, which is the newest tower of the 2. Knowing this is mostly a residence, I didn't expect the F&B to be offered. Residences are for your to cook or eat outside. Overall service, attention of front guests, concierges, valet and housekeeping was perfect and we could enjoy quiet well
The only minus are the restaurants on location, all rather pricey, but as written above those restaurants are good to go maybe once during the stay. Dean&Luca and island market are located on the ground floor where you can find all the necessities.
The residence is well located, 10 min walk from the beach along Fort de Russy park, all units seem to face the ocean.
Definitely I will stay again

We typically stay at the Grand Waikikian in the Hilton Village but sadly it was sold out during our quick trip to HNL. I've actually been to this property quite a few times only to dine at Sushi Sho.
Arrived and was greeted by the valet team and made our way up to the lobby. We ended up waiting close to 30 mins as there were a bunch of people checking in at the same time including a large party of close to 10-15. Did not notice anyone being offered a welcome drink probably due to the fact that the front desk personnel scrambling to check people in. A cold drink would've been nice as it was a sunny and warm day. The major gripe I had was when I mentioned we had a car and the guy said that it was taken care of, only to see a $52 daily charge upon checking out. Not a huge deal but when someone says it's taken care of, I was expecting to not see a line item for parking.
First impression of the room at first glance seemed comfortable and clean. Upon further inspection, you could see that the furnishings were a bit worn. I did appreciate the fact that the property is trying to reduce single use plastic bottles/containers and had filtered water in the room. The kitchenette was ample as we only used the fridge for drinks and the microwave to warm some of our leftovers. The first issue we noticed was with a mildew smell emitting from the washer which sort of dissipated with the 2nd load of laundry we did. Second issue is that if you change the temperature setting of the dryer, a distinct burning smell filled the room. Third issue was with the shower and adjusting the water temp to a certain point slightly past the warm setting which caused the shower head to sputter. Fourth issue for us was with getting in/out of the soaking tub. They do provide a step but even I had a hard time getting in/out. My wife attempted but realized she was too short.
Housekeeping was fantastic but ended up asking for more than 2 sets of towels each time they came in to clean.
They claim to have a personalized service but felt I was staying at a regular hotel vs. my recent stay at the FS in Lanai. May consider this property in the future but at this price point, I'd rather have a real one bedroom suite at the Grand Islander or Waikikian.

The stay at the Ritz Carlton Waikiki was amazing! The staff was all very friendly and helpful. When we arrived they immediately welcomed us with traditional lei and lavavrocks and had the bellman get our bags to the room. The room was nice and tidy and included a welcome gift of a tote bag and pineapple candy. We did not care for the split King bed, which is two twins pushed together. When we let them know of our dissatisfaction they were able to move us to another room but not until the next day due to being fully booked for the Holiday. The next day they seamlessly moved us to a newer and a bit larger version of our requested room with a true king bed. They also offered complimentary lunch while waiting but we waited on the beach instead. Each staff member went out of their way to greet us and make sure we had everything we needed. Zach was our favorite valet and was helpful with towels and water when needed. Our new room was in the Diamond tower, had ample space to unpack clothes and a corner balcony overlooking the family pool. The cleaning staff also did excellent. Each day the room was serviced and included toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash etc. Also they washed our dishes and but them away, they also provided laundry detergent. Little extras like chocolate candy and charging cord wraps.
The location was perfectly placed between shops and restaurants. We were able to walk to the beach and dinner each night. We were also lucky enough to catch the Pearl Harbor parade as it started at the Hotel entrance.( that was a bonus) Also from the room balcony we could see fireworks a few nights they did them from the beach. Also I was my celebrating my birthday and they helped my husband with surprising me with a flower path in the room.
I was a bit reluctant reading reviews , that the price was not worth it but I feel it was! I can’t wait to bring the Children so we can take advantage of the family amenities like ice cream at the family pool and the movie Theater. Overall worth the price!

We chose the Ritz-Carlton Waikiki knowing that its location was close, yet set apart, from the crowds and action on Waikiki. It was an excellent decision as the Ritz delivered a uniquely comfortable and tranquil experience in Oahu.
Front-of-the-house staff members, especially Manager Noah and Chris, provided a warm Aloha welcome and recognized our Bonvoy Lifetime Titanium elite status. A gracious in-room amenity acknowledging my wife's birthday was most appreciated.
The rooms have views out to the Pacific with higher floors being unobstructed. The adult pool, located on the lobby level, is infinity style with ample and comfortable chasie lounges. In my opinion, the architects should have designed the lobby to be on a higher floor so the pool views would be unobstructed -- which would have made for more of a "wow factor." The valet parking did get congestion on a couple of occasions but is well-staffed to handle the volume of vehicles.
We enjoyed the daily breakfast offerings and the extensive wine by the glass list during the evenings.
If you are seeking a convenient spot in Oahu without the crowds but close to shopping and action, the Ritz-Carlton Resideces on Waikiki won't disappoint.

Our first stay at the RC Waikiki. We booked a 3 night stay at the RC through Costco after a 5 night stay at the oceanfront Moana. We are so glad that we did! We were initially hesitant since it was not on the beach, it is in fact a 15 minute walk to the beach. It was nice to get away from the beachside crowds and the general vibe and service was top notch at RC.
We were met by a young woman Halle, who informed us that our Grand Oceanview room was no longer available. Before I could speak, she graciously upgraded us to a spectacular 2 bedroom suite, talk about service rescue! Well done! We loved the 2 huge bathrooms (after spending 5 nights at the beautiful Moana and it's tiny bathroom), washer/dryer and kitchen. The Island grill and Dean & Deluca had some grocery items that can be quickly prepared in the kitchen. This was especially convenient.
The pool service was fabulous. Our attendant Vince was so kind. Unlike the beachside resorts, we did not have to hunt and find pool chairs. Vince quickly was able to secure and "prep" them with towels for us. The attendants came by every half hour to refill our ice water. I like that they had an adult and kids pool.
We had breakfast at their restaurant Le Vie. The pancakes were excellent, the "Japanese breakfast" was so so (The Mitsuwa Marketplace in the International Market had a Japanese breakfast that was excellent and a third of the price).
The only improvement feedback I have is that there was not an actual greeter to assist us when we pulled up. We hauled all of our luggage to the elevators which was confusing to use. It really does set the tone for service and for first impressions. Also, the hot tub could use a good scrubbing on the tiles, it was slippery, I assume it may be due to all the sunscreen that is used by patrons.
Overall, a great stay and 2 of my friends have now booked at the RC Waikiki based on my recommendation.

1. Room is clean and spacious 2. there are laundry and dryer machine inside the suite room 3. The view looking from our room is nice 4. We were welcome when we arrive 5. It does feels like home because there’s kitchen sinks, stoves, utensils, plates, etc 6. Very safe and secured 7. Try their sushi sho, chefs are from Japan and they know what they are doing.
I was looking forward on Ritz Carlton Waikiki on my birthday week since I stayed at other locations such as Hong Kong and California. Their service of those locations were excellent. But for this location, the workers were not attentive like, it was my wife who constantly remind the front desk that it’s my birthday when I check in, even she notifies the reservation ahead of time during the booking. Yet, there was nothing going on when we check in. After my wife reminded the front desk again, We came back from dinner and I only got “four hawaiian beers and a bag of chip.” Come on Ritz Carlton… you guys can do better than that…
I give the hotel 3 stars because the service was unacceptable.
