The Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek garners approval for its prime downtown location, affording guests easy access to nearby dining and shopping options. While the hotel's service is generally lauded for professionalism, a few guests have noted room service inconsistencies. The renovated rooms receive compliments for their stylish decor, comfort, and cleanliness. Although the hotel's modern atmosphere is appreciated, opinions on value diverge, with some guests encountering unexpected charges. Despite the lack of a pool, many find the hotel's offerings commendable.

My wife and I had to travel through SLC both ways on our trip to CO Springs and we stayed at the Marriott Downtown at City Creek (both going and coming). While everyone is dealing with COVID-19 right now and that impacts the services that every business can offer, the team at this property did an extraordinary job of making us feel at home. From Isabelle at the front desk when we arrived to Shyam and Jill, everyone made us feel at home. We enjoyed dinner in our room with a nice bottle of wine - hard to call that roughing it. The location is terrific for a walk around downtown (the mall is closed, however) and the room was clean, comfortable and sported a killer view of the temple and capital. Highly recommend.

With a new family arrival, we made a trip to Salt Lake. With some precaution due to COV-19, I booked Marriott as I have used them for 30 years of business and pleasure travel. Also, there measures to maintain their property's cleanliness and great service confirmed my thoughts.

The hotel is pristine and clean from top to bottom. The facilities and staff are prepared and ready for guest. The front desk staff was very friendly and engaging. Marriott has made accommodations for food and other services impacted by the current situations.

I'd highly recommend this location as the current health conditions subside.

Tom at reception was so friendly and thorough at check in. He had read my notes and did indeed give me a quiet room on a high floor with a view. I really appreciate that kind of service at a hotel. But note: No one answers if you try to call down to the front desk on the room phone.
The beds and pillows are great. The halls are quiet at night. And the view was so enjoyable because of the huge window that took up almost the entire front wall of the room. I loved it, especially at night. The room temp was regulated by an old thermostat on the wall which I like because I can turn the noisy fan off. The frig was clean and quiet. Once you figure out how to use the shower controls, it's a great shower. No tub though. That's a shame.
The down side was not being able to request a kettle to heat up water. There was a pretty beat up coffee maker with horrible packets of "coffee" that wasn't drinkable. You get two paper cups to last you 3 days because there is no daily housekeeping service anymore. I paid $6 for an espresso beverage at Starbucks in the lobby once.
But the comfy beds, the nice Salt Stone restaurant and the high floor room view made my stay very pleasant. I would go back.

Amid the current economic calamity, the staff at this hotel gave me an executive room on the top floor and food/drink options in lieu of what has been removed from the room due to health concerns. It is a beautiful facility in a prime location with close access to light rail from the airport. The room was comfortable and windows kept out street noise. Highly recommend as the staff was so gracious and friendly.

Spent a very nice three nights at the Marriott Downtown in early October. The positives: location is very convenient for all things at Temple Square (if that’s what you’re interested in), shopping at City Creek and a number of restaurants; the room was clean and beds were comfortable; we didn’t have many encounters with staff, but they were all pleasant. However…the bathroom was really small and definitely is showing signs of age/wear. We had to call to find out that housekeeping was only provided every three days but someone did come up right away when we asked for more toiletries. There’s a lot of construction in the downtown area, so also be prepared for the related noise.

Good morning na07950, thank you for staying with us and completing a review we love the feedback. I'm sorry you were not informed of the housekeeping, we are getting that changed as soon as possible and will go back to daily service. As we can't do anything about the size of the bathroom we are starting some upgrades in the bathroom next week. Again thanks for the feedback, have a wonderful day.

A very good venue if you are attending an exhibition at the Salt Palace (straight across the street).
Hotel was a little tired, rooms (aside from state of the art TVs) and in need of a 21st century make over, but friendly staff across the building made up for that. (Although overeager Housekeeping staff knocking for room cleaning at 08.30am may be a little too early for those who like a little lie in!
Bar service is very good and staff there very welcoming and keen to offer tips of the area.
Breakfast in the restaurant is a little stale in terms of food options but also decor.
Would recommend due to proximity but the new Hyatt Regency across the road may spur Marriott into rejuvenating some of the rooms.

Normally when I stay in Salt Lake City I stay at the Grand America, which is wonderful. This trip I decided to try something new since City Creek shopping center, right next door to the Marriott, is fun. I knew I was in trouble when I self-parked in the underground garage which was dark and creepy. The hallway to my room was dark, worn, and old looking. The room itself looked like it hadn't been renovated in 20 years. I immediately went back to the front desk and checked myself out drove a mile to the Grand American, which fortunately had one last room available. The crazy thing is it's only moderately more expensive than the Marriott but is seriously at least 2 stars better.

To their credit the person at the Marriott front desk was very nice and accommodating and refunded my room charge completely.

I was here for a conference.

This Marriott property needs an overhaul. The rooms are old, falling apart, have old hair dryers that barely work, and the shower was a hot mess.... the shower knobs nearly fell out of the wall and the hot/cold knobs on the sink had broken metal which poses a safety issue.

In 3 days, the room was never serviced.

The conference accommodations were good!

Hotel was great - connected to mall and convention center. Had most exceptional experience with bellman Chris. I lost my AirPods in my room. Chris went to the laundry room in the hotel and with his hands went through every set of sheets looking for them. I told him to give up 100 times and he wouldn’t. What a special person. He found them!!

First of all, I'm a little surprised by all of the negative reviews. I personally found the hotel to be quite beautiful. The staff is amazing, and went out of their way to give us a good experience. The breakfast buffet is fantastic. One thing you need to know that you may not see posted elsewhere is that the fitness center is located off site. It is several blocks away. That's the downside, but the upside is that it's actually a really nice facility. More of a complete gym than a typical Hotel Fitness Center. Also, the hotel is located in a very safe, beautiful area and I felt very safe walking to the fitness center even at 5 am. The hotel is located right across the street from the conference center so it's an easy walk. If you are attending an event at the conference center, or just staying in the general area, I would highly recommend this hotel. Just be aware of the long hike to the fitness center if you are planning to use it, and bring sweatpants if it's cold outside.

Good day, yes we have a $25 per day incidental authorization upon check in. If it is not used, it will take about 3-5 business days for that to fall off.
