Salt Lake City is typically a stop over on my way through to my ultimate destination. I used to stay at the Kimpton quite a bit, but one time they were booked so I called AMEX and they suggested I stay here. Since that time, I haven’t looked back. not only are there a lot more food and drink alternatives, but the common area is much more enjoyable for relaxing and people watching. not only was the general manager very friendly and accommodating, but Rammani knocked it out of the park. talk about a host that is friendly, accommodating, and here to help you get as comfortable as possible. The hotel is lucky to have him as an employee.

Hotel's Favorite
As you enter the gorgeous lobby, you feel as though you have stepped back in time. Beautiful art deco furnishings and art are tastefully arranged. The rooms are small but the beds are comfortable and the sheets very soft. The bathroom was new and beautifully appointed. We loved the location with all the restaurants nearby to walk to and we were able to take in the Utah Art Festival as well. It was pricey the two nights we stayed, but we would go there again if the rates are lower. It was our 40th anniversary and it was a wonderful getaway.

This Hotel was a big disappointment, room had no heat. Telling me it’s an old building did not help. The carpet was dirty with debris under the bed side table. Bed was awful. Bathroom was freezing. They gave me the wrong room type.

We were in town to attend a dinner and celebrate our anniversary. My husband chose this hotel thinking I would enjoy staying somewhere different then a typical hotel. The hotel is quaint, clean and unique. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Unfortunately there is only public parking next to the hotel which made us uneasy about parking there overnight. Unfortunately those concerns were correct. We received a call from the front desk the next morning asking us to come downstairs, the police wanted to talk with us. We found our car severely damaged from someone hitting another car and slamming it into ours, then hitting the rear of ours with their car also. The other car was so severely damaged it had to be towed, ours is drivable but the damage bad enough it may be totaled as well. Other guests who were on that side of the hotel heard loud partying all night, which was evidenced by all the beer cans around the lot. Of course it was a hit and run so now we have to deal with that on top of our weekend getaway being ruined. We'll never stay here again for this reason only.

This hotel is gorgeous and has all the potential. Great location. Restaurants on site and within walking distance. Nice rooms. All of that is forgotten once you try to go to sleep at night. Our room faced a parking lot and just beyond the parking lot is a nightclub. The “festivities” don’t start there until after about 10pm, so we got to sleep and were woken up shortly after by loud music and bumping bass. The parking lot behind us was filled with 20-somethings drinking and partying outside. I use ear plugs and white noise and our entire family, children too, were woken up and kept up for most of the night…so around 3am. It was unbelievably loud and there was no way any normal person could sleep unless they maybe had noise canceling headphones. If you do choose to stay here ask SPECIFICALLY for a room opposite this parking lot..or avoid the area altogether and stay at a different property. Also just a tip, the downtown Hilton is ALSO across from this parking lot. The front of the Hilton downtown faces it. So if you want to avoid this kind of experience I would avoid the area completely
