The hotel were great in being in touch prior to our arrival. All the staff we interacted with at the hotel were really friendly and helpful. Special shout out to Cory who could not have been more pleasant. The hotel is being updated, but it's completely functional and pleasant already; once again great staff.

We checked in online and selected room 920, upon arrival we were given room 331. This room is directly above the Lobby Entrance.

If you enjoy loud, drunk people chatting it up at 3 am in the morning on hotel property in front of the lobby, room 331 is the room for you!

Avoid room 301, 302, 331, and 330, this also applies to floors 4,5,6 (probably will not have this issue on floors 8, and 9).

Prior to arrival we always use Hotels text messaging system and they always reply. I contacted the property to confirm their restaurant would be open, and they did not reply. Restaurant was closed as were most of facilities. Bar was open and Coffee/Snack Bar was open in morning. I understand the issue with restart due to Covid, so I did not reduce my rating because of this unfortunate situation.

The suite was well furnished with all the usual Doubletree appointments, had to request soap for the shower. The beds were very very comfortable, great choice of channels on cable, shower water comes on hot, ac is quiet, internet is fast, and rooms were clean (I should note that the Covid cleaning procedure that Hilton is promoting with a (Covid clean seal on door) did not exist. I had to run water through cover maker several times to get “clear water”.

I like the feel of the hotel, and once they are fully operational again, I am sure is will be a great property to visit. Covid has really effected all properties.

When I return to Salt Lake City, I would not hesitate to give this Doubletree another try (once I can confirm everything is operational)

Once a month for the past 2-3 years, I stay at this hotel for just one night before I catch an early flight home.
Its location is great for a variety of reasons: easy access from highway, easy parking, perfect location for walking around the city and visiting various attractions, bars, restaurants.
The breakfast buffet is standard for a Double Tree and is free for Diamond members (an excellent deal).
The rooms are all two room suites (this is because this hotel used to be an Embassy Suites some time ago) and allows you to spread out and be very comfy. Some rooms have updated bathrooms with shower doors, others don't. All rooms I have been in have always been clean. The gym is also a good size and well equipped for my morning workout before I get on my plane.

But...what really makes my stays special are the staff at the front desk. By some miracle they remember who I am (I'm nobody special ;) every time I check-in. They are always very welcoming and make me feel like they are truly concerned that my stay is satisfactory....and it always has been. Thanks!

On July 24th, after a long drive up from Moab, Utah, my family pulled into the parking garage of the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Salt Lake City Downtown.

There was a man loitering in the garage standing with two women. Another man walked up to them and was either buying drugs from the first guy or the services of one of the women. I didn't stop to ask.

My family entered the hotel, went up to our room on the 8th floor - it was a corner suite, and immediately the smell of cigarette smoke welcomed our noses.

We had been on the road for two weeks, and had stayed in several different hotels in our travels. Marriotts, Hyatts, and Independent places. All of them were clean and devoid of drug dealers in their parking garages. Also, none of the other hotels reeked of cigarettes.

There was no evidence of the Hilton "Clean Stay" protocols being followed.

In this time of COVID, our family has been hyper-vigilant about cleaning hotels before we settle in. My wife showed me the Clorox wipes she was using to wipe down the surfaces of our room and they were coming up brown. Disgusting.

She then showed me the sheets on the bed were torn and had holes in them.

She then showed me the bathroom floor had hair on it.

At that point I decided to ask for another room. I messaged the hotel on the Hilton app. No one answered. I messaged two more times, and feeling the unhappiness of my spouse I decided to just book a room at the Hyatt House we had stayed in at the beginning of our trip a few blocks away.

When we were leaving the hotel we saw one lone employee at the desk with a line of people waiting for service. The guy in the parking garage was still out there doing whatever it is he was doing.

I told my wife I was had Diamond status at Hilton, they would give me a refund or I would take my business elsewhere. I contacted Hilton about my horrifying experience and the hotel won't do a refund.

The room itself was also very dated and the window to the outside was filthy.

I have stayed at every Hilton Brand from coast to coast, in the US and Canada. If this is the thanks I get for my loyalty then I guess it's time to change brands.

Hyatt, do you do status matches? Your Hyatt House Salt Lake City/Downtown was wonderful!

After booking my reservation the highest level of customer service immediately began. Hilton communicated with me prior to my stay to ensure that I had all of the information that I needed before check in. Once I arrived I was warmly greeted by staff. I had communicated with Emilee prior to my arrival to get a preferred room which she promptly granted me. The hotel was clean and beautiful. The rooms were comfortable and large. The two large TVs were a plus. The shower had great water pressure. The amenities were amazing. Every time I came and went, I was amazed at the beauty and design of the hotel. For the price that I paid I was not expecting to have a 5 star experience. All of the staff were friendly and professional. This is now my default hotel when I visit Salt Lake City!!

I had to book a hotel in a hurry. We picked this place because there was six people in our party and we needed two beds plus a sofa bed. The room size was great (Suite) and the price was reasonable. The only part I didn't like and was not informed of is there is a $12/day parking charge. My online reservation said it would be $338 for two nights and it ended up being $408 with taxes and parking.

I choose this hotel because of its location, star ratings and reviews but unfortunately I got the worst experience.
I'm writing this review from my room that was changed because the previous one Had the broken toilet seat and a sink wooden drain. When I asked to fix the toilet I've been told that this is how it's supposed to be I insisted and it was fixed. After that I asked to fix the sink and they told me that there was no one that can come and do that now. I had two towels for three people and when I ask for more I've been told that there's no more towels available. I got a different room with the same toilet issue no toilet paper. If it wasn't 11:00 p.m. I would definitely cancel this and go to a different hotel.

Not at all what I expect of a Hilton brand hotel. I wasn't privy to other guest rooms but mine had outdated furniture with stained upholstery, chipped and scuffed paint, musty-mildew smell, among other things. Very disappointed.

Concierge desk helpful. Staff at check in and out helpful. No cash in restaurant seems harsh and there was no business center or convenience store on sight in the traditional sense of both those amenities. Also, no hotel shuttle (complementary or otherwise) to and from airport. Lots of transportation options at costly prices except the public transportation which is always an unknown.

Our conference breakfast, lunch and dinner was catered on-site. Hot food generally was cold and limited vegetarian/vegan dishes. Even when there was something offered without meat, it was not labeled vegan or vegetarian (e.g. no animal by-products used in this dish (butter, eggs, milk, cheese, fish sauce, etc.). I had a very leafy and fruity menu for three days!

The feedback about your room condition and some amenities is appreciated. It is good to hear that the concierge and check-in/check-out team members were helpful during your stay. Your comments on the restaurant's cash policy and absence of certain amenities will be noted for future considerations. The catering issues and limited vegan/vegetarian options you faced will also be reviewed to improve our service for future events. We hope to have the opportunity to provide a better experience in the future.

Beware ! No Covid precautions. This hotel is disgusting . Talked with numerous front desk employees and let them know I would be calling corporate and none cared . Pee stained couch , brown liquid in toilet , caked on mold in shower . Dirt caked in door jam and that’s after the VIP clean ! Not up to Hilton standards.I’m a diamond Hilton member so I stay in a ton of Hilton . Maybe it’s time to go back to Marriott. Also note the room doors for 3 levels have no clean stay stickers because they don’t . Remotes also not covered . So gross .

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the DoubleTree Salt Lake City. You indicated in your response that the overall condition and cleanliness of your guestroom was unsatisfactory. There is certainly no excuse for our having caused you this unpleasant experience. We take great pride in providing the utmost in accommodations and customer service and this is definitely not the standard of service that the DoubleTree strives for. Please be assured that we are addressing all of your comments with our management team. Everything we do is aimed at providing you with an excellent hotel experience – and unfortunately – we did not meet yours, or our own expectations. Sincerely,

The lobby of the hotel has gone through a face lift & is nice. The rooms need an upgrade next. They were fine - good night's sleep & clean, but they're dated. There isn't a lot w/in walking distance of the hotel. Parking was free in the garage. Friendly bartenders downstairs. Staff was pleasant all around. Booked here because I got a good rate -- friends stayed at a different location walking distance away & paid much more!
