I have stayed in this hotel many times, only because of its location it's only about 1.5miles from city Centre or a light rail transport has a stop virtually on the hotel's doorstep if walking is not an option. This is its only attribute as it has gone downhill very badly. The rooms are disgustingly dirty, the electrics in the rooms are dangerously faulty, none of the equipment worked i.e., coffee maker, microwave, iron, etc. all were arcing and sparking, free Wi-Fi was given even that was hit or miss good luck with access. it has a pool but that was too dirty to swim in. the guest laundry was in a disgusting state and had not been cleaned in months. A number of staff were unfriendly, rude, and used bad language to guests. The breakfast supplied was a sad affair. No maintenance or even a lick of paint has been done on the place for years. the last straw came to most people that without previous notification the hotel staff demanded a $100.00 cash only deposit regardless from everyone, even if the bill had been paid prior to arrival (the management insisted that all booking agents had been informed of this). If you didn't have ready cash available, then you could not check in. The only ATM available nearby was in the hotel which just happened to be out of order. Some undesirable people sort of hang about the place never been asked to move, the place regularly visited by law enforcement and other first responders.

First thing i noticed was the sticky floors and filthy walls. There was ants all over the bathroom counters, the towels were nasty, there was dust and hair everywhere. When i asked for cleaning spray from housekeeping she gave us deodorizer, when i asked the lady at the front desk, she told me she couldn't help me. She couldn't get me a new room or get me cleaning spray or new towels. When we requested a manager the lady kept telling us she couldn't call them. We ended up getting our money back and leaving.

Incredibly dirty hotel overall, dirty staircases, dirty pool. But most importantly of all, incredibly dirty room. The sheets had stains, little pieces of chips in them, and they stank. Same with towels, stains and stinky. After we complained we got one bottom and one top sheet for the bed as well as one towel, for both of us, me and my wife. On top of that they want cash deposit of $100 and do not accept credit cards, like it is the 1980’s. Staff are rude and not helpful. It seems they do not expect any decent person to stay there and treat their guests as criminals. And on top of that it was not cheap, I booked for $100 including taxes for 1 night, which to be fair was Saturday night during long weekend.

If I could give less stars, I would! First off, they require a $100 cash deposit for the room; which is untraceable. Couple friends stopped by to have a couple drinks before heading to the club.
Apparently, you cannot have visitors over or you’ll get your deposit revoked immediately. I’ve never been to a hotel where the employees are ok with stalking their customers! To make sure our guests did not go into the room.
We had them wait outside with an employee standing their, smoking a cigarette and being absolutely disgusting and rude. One of our guests needed to use the restroom! Restroom!!!! Im not going to be inconsiderate to a friend coming by to get ready for a concert. Say no for a bathroom! I let her in…. Immediately my deposit was revoked. I will never stay at this place again.

Checked in then back out after seeing the condition of the property and the room. Complete filth, exposed wires, nasty walls and bedding, faucets hanging and mold everywhere. Most disgusting place ever been to and should be closed down. Unsafe outside and when checked out and drive to another Choice property was refused a refund. I have made complaint with choice hotel and will take it as far as need to go to get this hotel off the Choice name. Please be aware this property is not worth your money, it’s horrible (even at a discount). Please be safe!

They really deserve ZERO stars. The pictures you see for this property may have been from 30 years ago. This property does NOT look like this today. The county just needs to convert this place into a homeless shelter because that's what it resembled. Our credit card took our reservation but the rude young gal upon afternoon check-in demanded a $100 deposit! What decent place does this? It took 3 tries for her to get us into a room. 1st, she gave us the keys to an occupied room (we walked in on them!), the 2nd room's ceiling was draped in cobwebs like The Musters House, then we finally got our already filthy room with no hairdryer & alarm clock most properties provide. Fridge hadn't been cleaned in a long time, found an ant on the toilet, towels were sparse & torn. Some outlets were unusable. A big cockroach joined us on the last day. We smelled Marijuana all around with loud guests nearby. We felt scared throughout our entire stay. Free breakfast? Sure, we saw homeless people going into the lobby to eat that didn't stay there.

Absolutely the worst “hotel” I’ve ever stayed at!! Negative stars would be appropriate. The “female” that checked us in would not let me use the ATM inside to get the $100 unexpected deposit that I had to drive around town at 9:30pm to try to find an atm after driving for 18 hours. Room was ok, floor and walls were disgusting, my feet were black from walking around the room. People outside our door were playing loud music outside our door and partying till 3am. Hardly slept because beds were so uncomfortable and I worried about all the drug addicts outside breaking into our car. Please do NOT stay at this crackden!

Incredibly sketchy management. They require a $100 CASH fee at check in per room. They give you a ticket and if you loose the ticket you don’t get your funds back… You don’t go in to check in. It’s done with a little box cut through to the outside. Also they require IDs for every guest staying in the room. I saw several guests who had to leave to go find an ATM. You can do so much better than this in SLC. They blamed it on SLC Covid restrictions.- no other hotels are operating like this. There are places close that will treat you with respect. That don’t have sketchy business policies, rude employees and would love to have your business.

I picked this motel because of its location in relation to downtown and its proximity to the Red Iguana restaurant we planned to visit. We were first surprised to learn that we had to come up with a $100.00 cash deposit to check-in. Then there was the condition of the room itself - torn lampshades and wide spaces around the door. There was no breakfast and access to the lobby was very limited. The parking curb was damaged and had raw rebar sticking out. There's no way that I could recommend this motel in good conscience.

Waited 2 hours just to be able to check in. Soon as we got let in someone’s sink was clogged and they helped random people even though we were waiting in the heat for 2 hours. Their rooms are completely bug infested with roaches and Mosquitoes. To top it all off someone busted into our car and stole all of our belongings. Screw this place it ain’t worth it

Why is this hotel allowed to double charge you and refuse to refund your money to your debit card and not be charged with credit card fraud?

Hi Breakfast consisted of fruit, cereal, muffins, granola bars, yoghurts, waffles-standard motel fayre so plenty of veggie options. Wouldn't bother cooking, plenty of cheap eateries in the neighbourhood surrounding and as someone else alluded to people may not appreciate the strong curry smells, as well as any associated health and safety risks with having stove top cooker in the room. I'm sure there are motels in the area that offer rooms with kitchenettes, maybe ask this motel if they have these rooms? Good luck
