Detailed Reviews
We chose the Courtyard Salt Lake City Downtown because it is across the street from the Vivant Smart home Arena. We attended a basketball game with our Grandson. The walk between the hotel and the arena is not long enough for you to get cold on a typical winter night in SLC. The room was reasonably priced, was well appointed, and very convenient. We did NOT have to pay a parking fee to leave our car in the parking garage unlike other Marriott locations in downtown SLC. We will use this hotel for future events at the Arena.

Nice, modern Hotel. Comfortable rooms & friendly staff.
Bistro has Starbucks Coffee, breakfast (not included) and meals throughout the day. We really liked the Oatmeal with strawberry & blueberries, & honey or syrup.
A couple of negatives: We heard loud footsteps of Adults & Children in the room above us, they checked out, then loud footsteps of the next guests.
Free Wi-Fi is provided, but it is not password protected, just an open network.
We found a Resteraunt Gem next door, The Break Sports Bar. Open in December 2022, The Break has great food, better than normal bar food. We had dinner there 3 evenings.
We will be back to The Courtyard by Marriott Salt Lake City Downtown!

Very nice rooms and great location! The bathroom shower is gorgeous. Room is a little bit small but sufficient. Fairly quiet. We could walk to dinner which was great! Parking is not free though, you’d have to find a place on the street if it’s not Sunday. Enjoyed our stay here only negative is the front desk staff didn’t seem to be that knowledgeable. Overall though a great stay and I would come again!

I was supposed to stay at Fairfield Marriott but I never had any email or call that I’m being transfer somewhere else which is Courtyard Marriott sister company of Fairfield Marriott. I arrived at 1pm at the courtyard and was asking if I can check in early. Well I guess @marriott hotels or maybe this specific Marriott changes the policy about requesting a early check in. The frond desk agent said that it was $35 after 12pm or check in at 3pm with no charge. Usually before I can request early check in special if there’s a room available. I asked the front desk if there’s room available and she said yes. Usually Marriott costumer service will go above and beyond and make sure that the guest will be taking care of. Maybe it’s there new policy? Anyway I had to wait at the lobby for 2 hours waiting and I was pretty tired bcus Im from California and drove for 12 hours. Ive worked and stayed for Marriott for so many years but I never experienced that I have to wait even if there’s a room available. Usually agents will sometimes break the SOP to take care of the guest and not make your guest wait for 2 hours knowing that you have plenty of rooms available. Or I could’ve just paid the $35 dollars? I guess it’s whatever now. Just want to share my experience at this hotel.

This hotel is located downtown right across from the arena where the Utah Jazz NBA team plays. The room was very spacious and very clean. Noise level wasn't too bad. The staff could have been nicer though. They seemed bothered when we would ask a questions and not very hospitable or friendly. Don't try to check in before 3pm or they will charge $50. We were here during COVID, so the pool was closed, the restaurant was closed and the coffee bar was closed. Parking is in a garage across the street.

For the $750 price for 3 nights - there was no breakfast offered and the tv / cable didn’t work until the last night at 8pm. Very annoying! The front desk did not seem to care. No free coffee in the lobby . For this price - the Starbucks coffee downstairs shouldn’t be $8.00 and the only breakfast offered was avocado toast for $13. Ridiculous. A continent breakfast should be offered.
The only thing good about this place is it’s convenient if you are going to the Vivant center for a game or concert. It’s right across the street. Next time we will check out the Hyatt House and compare it.

We prepaid for a two queen room and were given a single king; when I informed the desk staff, I was treated like the error was mine. Despite my printed receipt, I was told the reservation was correct in the hotel’s computer. I was then warned that getting upset would jeopardize my stay there. I think the hotel was overbooked and they were trying to Give my room to someone else? We finally got the room I paid in advance for, and it was okay despite the only chair in the room being worn and stained.
Long story short, okay room/poor service.

Room was 75 degrees when entering. Selected 64 degrees on thermostat. After two hours temperature dropped one degree. Front desk told me to turn the fan to high. Did not offer to send maintenance to trouble shoot. Front desk told me thermostat has sensor and if I was asleep, A/C would turn off. Unacceptable! Forced to accept warm temperatures. Should have slept in the hotel lobby, it was much cooler and comfortable!

I stayed here for two nights for business and to catch a jazz game.
Let’s start out with the issues and just get them out of the way. On top of the microwave was an old, I mean really old, protein bar. It was stuck to the the microwave so bad, I had to pry it off. The bathroom toilet was not cleaned properly, there was “remnants” from the previous occupants on the toilet seat. I asked to speak to the manager, but was told they weren’t working I let the front desk clerk know, and he was really receptive, and said someone would get in touch with me. It never happened.
There are some good things here. The location is very central. Across from the arena, close to transit, and central salt lake. The staff are polite and helpful. They have a small gym that had some free weights, some cardio machines, and a cable machine. Big and open, which was nice. Pool area looked nice and big as well, although I never used it.
All in all, I’ll probably try somewhere else next time I’m in SLC.

Walkable to Hall’s Pass and other dining.
Very friendly check in staff.
Breakfast is good.
The thing that matters the most to me is the cleanliness.
Not one hair, piece of lint or anything that can turn a person off. I wish all hotels were this clean.

$14/day and yes it's covered. The previous response stated "no fee". Just look on the website of the hotel which clearly states $14. It just gets added to your hotel bill.
Is it "secured"- the gates are open during the day and the hotel gives you a slip of paper to place on your dashboard. There are no guards, etc. I wouldn't call that "secured".
Sorry this was only a layover to Yellowstone. Wish I could help.
No it is order at the counter breakfast
Should only take a couple of days, call Marriott rewards and they can help you!
The breakfast is 6:30 am to 9:30 am Monday - Friday and 7-10 am Saturday and Sunday
