This is one of the better Homewood Suites I have stayed in. We stayed for one night in a huge room for four people. Parking is well located under the hotel, and there are two restaurants attached to the hotel. The breakfast was awesome - eggs/meat/hash browns and a lot more! It seems like the hotel is just wrapping up renovations, so it is very modern. The location is pretty good too, a few blocks from the Jazz Stadium, LDS Church, and adjacent to a park with an amazing Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. If you’re in the area - this is your place to stay!

Central location to everything, dining, entertainment, ski resorts. This hotel has been recently renovated and everything is crisp and clean. We were greeted by hotel staff who could not have been more pleasant. As we are rewards members, we received complimentary bottles of water which we appreciated. Our room was outstanding. We later picked up a rental car and found the underground parking to be convenient and very secure.

We will definitely stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay of three nights here. The rooms are lovely, clean, and modern. We really appreciated having a small kitchen space in the event that we might need to cook or have take out due to COVID restrictions. The kitchen had a microwave, stovetop, fridge, and dishwasher along with the usual plates, cutlery, pots and pans. Breakfast was also provided, though a bit more limited for safety reasons, but still had a good variety (bagels, fruits, cereal, pastries, breakfast burritos, breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, oatmeal, coffee, juice, etc).
The staff were friendly and helpful. We also were very grateful to have convenient garage parking.
Sounds like the hot tub is open with a reservation, but we didn't end up using it in our time there.
The hotel is conveniently located not too far from Temple Square. Just a couple of blocks away are lots of cute restaurants and shops.
Our only small reservation was that about a block away (opposite direction of heading downtown) there was a homeless shelter with lots of people camped out on the street. We had no issues, just wished we had known prior not to walk down S. Rio Grande (right behind the hotel). Otherwise it felt very secure with a locked door requiring key access into the lobby.
Still all in all a great stay that we thoroughly enjoyed. Would highly recommend this stay for anyone needing a hotel in the downtown area.

This is one of my favorite places to stay downtown! The rooms are spacious with fully equiped kitchens including glasses and dishes, the living area has a nice sofa sleeper along with a chair and large flat screen TV. The separate bedroom is also spacious with the most comfortable king bed. It was the first time I ever actually looked to check out what kind of mattress if was because os was THAT comfortable! The bathroom is roomier than most but is still just a bathroom.

I recommend staying on the 3rd floor for easy access to the outdoor pool and jacuzzi. Try to request a room with a balcony entrance to the pool. It is so nice!

The breakfast area gets a bit crowded but there is a large seating area. Food is decent with the standard waffle makers (they have 2 which helps), scrambled eggs, bacon, oatmeal, toasts and bagels, a variety of pastries, juices (apple and orange), and of course coffee.

The staff is super friendly and helpful.

The only con to staying here is that it is located directly across the street from Pioneer Park so there are a lot of homeless, however I never felt unsafe and the underground parking made it so I wasnt worried about my vehicle. Outside of that the location is perfect. One block from the Gateway so plenty of food, shopping, and entertainment.

Highly recommend. You wont regret it.

Really a nice hotel with friendly helpful staff. As a Diamond member I travel and stay mostly at Hilton properties. The rooms are nice and the 3rd floor pool deck outside sitting area is good. Can walk a few blocks to many restaurants. The only issue is that next to the hotel by the Rio Grand area as well as the park is a large number of homeless folks. A bit intimidating but no harassment. The hotel locks all doors and elevators and you must have a key to enter or go up the elevator. Breakfast was ok despite the covid issue. No evening reception though currently. You can park FREE on the street in front of the hotel from 6pm until 8am or pay alot to park in the garage. A little shady area otherwise good hotel. There are other Hilton properties down the road that are likely in a nicer area. Good luck!

Wonderful rooms with a fantastic location. Staff needs to be much more attentive. Prioritize room cleaning based on guest arrival or tell guests to come back at an appropriate time. Do not have guests come back every hour for rooms to not be ready and still not be prepared past check in time. Would rather show later than have time wasted with false promises. Improve customer service.

Bad experience with hotel. Our first night the alarm clock when off at 5:30am after a long day of travel, this should be checked by cleaning staff. Also, no extra toilet paper and it’s impossible to get in touch with front desk. Didn’t feel safe parking my vehicle on the street with a lot of homeless in the area so we paid $10 extra per day USD to park under ground. We wanted to switch hotels as we did not feel safe in this hotel, the front desk told us we needed to deal with the third party (booking.com) so we connected online with them. They told us it was no problem to cancel and we told them we felt unsafe and they understood. They contacted the hotel to cancel (the same front desk person we spoke to minutes before) and they wouldn’t cancel. The booking.com representative also told us the front desk at our hotel was rude. Very unprofessional and unwilling to help guests. We have this hotel booked in July for ourselves and our photographer for our wedding and we have cancelled our reservations.

I am a returning guest here at thenHomewood Suites Doentown location and I must say they know what they are doing and they understand the meaning of great customer service and creating a great experience for each guest. They handle chaotic and stressful situations with patience and grace and every employee that I’ve came in contact with has been very polite and accommodating and has made sure that all my needs are met. It’s such a breath of fresh air to have such great customer service and to be staying somewhere where you feel genuinely cared about! Thank you to all of you on the Homewood Suites Downtown Team. Keep up the great work!!

Overall, this hotel was exactly what I would have expected from a Homewood suites. The room had a nice kitchenette with a full size refrigerator, microwave, cook top and dishwasher. The direct TV in the room was spotty at best, with some channels being completely unwatchable. The complimentary breakfast was also pretty good.

Our biggest concern was the location of the hotel being about 2 blocks from a large homeless camp. We did not feel safe walking in that direction, or walking outside at night. Also, there was really nothing close by in terms of stores, coffee shops, etc. The only good thing about the location is that it is close to downtown. Nearly everywhere we went was less than a $9 uber ride. We actually found this to be about the same in total as renting a car, since the hotel charges $10 per day for parking.

This wouldn't be our first choice if we come back to SLC, but we would stay here again if needed.
