We will definitely stay here again!
The staff were friendly and helpful. We also were very grateful to have convenient garage parking.
Sounds like the hot tub is open with a reservation, but we didn't end up using it in our time there.
The hotel is conveniently located not too far from Temple Square. Just a couple of blocks away are lots of cute restaurants and shops.
Our only small reservation was that about a block away (opposite direction of heading downtown) there was a homeless shelter with lots of people camped out on the street. We had no issues, just wished we had known prior not to walk down S. Rio Grande (right behind the hotel). Otherwise it felt very secure with a locked door requiring key access into the lobby.
Still all in all a great stay that we thoroughly enjoyed. Would highly recommend this stay for anyone needing a hotel in the downtown area.
I recommend staying on the 3rd floor for easy access to the outdoor pool and jacuzzi. Try to request a room with a balcony entrance to the pool. It is so nice!
The breakfast area gets a bit crowded but there is a large seating area. Food is decent with the standard waffle makers (they have 2 which helps), scrambled eggs, bacon, oatmeal, toasts and bagels, a variety of pastries, juices (apple and orange), and of course coffee.
The staff is super friendly and helpful.
The only con to staying here is that it is located directly across the street from Pioneer Park so there are a lot of homeless, however I never felt unsafe and the underground parking made it so I wasnt worried about my vehicle. Outside of that the location is perfect. One block from the Gateway so plenty of food, shopping, and entertainment.
Highly recommend. You wont regret it.
Sincerely,
Ms. Salt
Our biggest concern was the location of the hotel being about 2 blocks from a large homeless camp. We did not feel safe walking in that direction, or walking outside at night. Also, there was really nothing close by in terms of stores, coffee shops, etc. The only good thing about the location is that it is close to downtown. Nearly everywhere we went was less than a $9 uber ride. We actually found this to be about the same in total as renting a car, since the hotel charges $10 per day for parking.
This wouldn't be our first choice if we come back to SLC, but we would stay here again if needed.
"Desk help was neither friendly nor helpful. Would not recommend staying here. Drastic drop in quality of stay since 1 year ago."Read full review
"Hotel parking only $10/day. Many SLC attractions are free. Don't dismiss them. The International Peace Garden is a particular standout. "Read full review
