The Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City earns rave reviews for its immaculate rooms and modern amenities, with guests frequently lauding the attentive housekeeping. Nestled in a prime downtown location, the hotel is a hit among travelers for its easy access to nearby attractions, and the stunning mountain vistas are a consistent crowd-pleaser.
Visitors appreciate the warm and efficient service provided by the staff, as well as the stylish atmosphere of the hotel. However, some guests mention that the value is lessened by steep parking fees, and noise levels can be a nuisance for those seeking a quiet stay.

Detailed Reviews
Love the new hotel here, and would highly recommend staying if you are a Hyatt fan (it will not disappoint). The way they positioned the hotel really brought a great view into the forefront of downtown Salt Lake City and the surrounding hills/buildings/etc. Even if you don't have an upper floor room, it's worth heading to floor 25 to check out the view right off the elevators (or the pool if it is warm enough outside).
Now onto the details:
While I was excited about being a literal first person in a room ever for this trip (again; brand-spanking' new), there were a few post-construction glitches being worked out (dust, a few missing little things, running out of menu options I wanted due to not yet having a forecast, etc.).
I don't really consider any of the above a negative, but it is something to be mindful/understanding of if you are staying there while those little things are optimized.
Now, for those of you used to regular business travel, what you might not like is: NOT having the continental options (e.g. the "included" breakfast or in some cases "dinner tapas" options).... However, they do have a few lovely restaurants, including the the "quick" café that has some basic menu options. All are typical hotel/hospitality priced, and you can honestly get a much better price if you are willing to venture just outside of the hotel to any street downtown if that is something that concerns you. For me the ease of having nice options right inside the hotel was nice and convenient for me.
They do charge for room waters used, however, the the ice makers (as well as the water fountains) have filtered water options if you have your own bottle). The only quirk about the general area fountains on the levels that are not room-based is the filter station is behind the fountain that is automated on... this winds up turning on/wasting the fountain water rather than using an offset design that might not cause this as often when many like myself reach for the filtered water.

This facility is easily one of the best Hyatt Regency I have been. Everything is in tip top shape and shiny brand new, considering how new this hotel is. The hallway carpet is incredibly soft with the thickest padding I have ever felt. There is a modern filtered ice/water machine placed in the hallway instead of a special ice room like most other hotels. The room itself is immaculate, modern and clean to the T. The Market at the lobby is open 24 hours and has baked goods, pizza, sandwiches, desserts that are appealing and actually delicious. We used the gym and it is one of the best facilities we have been at a hotel. There is actually a machine for everything and the only thing lacking is a bench press, but that is not something common to find in any hotel anyway. The spa water in the gym is constantly refreshed with new ice even late in the middle of the night. We did not use the pool but it is on the same floor as the gym and it looks very nice as well.
Now the bad side, they built this nice hotel but forgot to dig down and build some underground parking. Instead they contracted with the Salt Palace facility next door so it ended up costing us $25 per night for self-parking. You'll use the room key to get in/out of the garage as they have a special scanner for Hyatt guest to scan the key. For this I will have to dock 1 star off what is an otherwise perfect hotel. Maybe check out how parking is done at Hyatt Regency Frisco, which is another favorite of ours. Of course if you don't park a car, then this place is indeed as good as it gets.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveler reviews.
This hotel has been open for two years (I think) and is excellent. I used to stay at another major chain but switched as the other chain downgraded my room two years in a row. I had a "king corner room with view" so I can't speak to other room types.
The location at the end of the hall and the curved wall made the room seem more spacious. The bed was quite comfortable. There were plenty of outlets to charge my devices. The bathroom had only a shower stall; if you want a tub it's worth calling to see if any rooms have tubs. The bathroom had plenty of room to spread out my things, both on the counter and in the shelving underneath. There was a Keurig coffemaker with tea pods as well. There was a mini-fridge; the sign indicated it was for the guest's use (in other words, no charge just for opening it), cooled to 45 degrees, and if the guest needs things like medications kept colder they're to contact guest services. Be careful of one thing -- there were two bottles of water but if you're not an elite member in the loyalty club you're charged for that water.
The entire room was spotless. I chose to forego housekeeping so I left my "do not disturb" sign on the door and housekeeping respected that, leaving a note that they hadn't entered due to my privacy request.
There's an outdoor pool on the 6th floor deck. It's definitely long enough to swim laps and there's plenty of seating space.
The breakfast was a bit expensive, but that seems to be usual for hotels. I chose the buffet but still thought it was worth it as they had a good selection of usual and not-so-usual items. I didn't eat lunch or dinner in the hotel, patronizing local restaurants and the mall food court. All are within a few blocks, easy walking distance. The hotel has a 24-hour market (think Starbucks type place with pre-made salads/sandwiches). I didn't buy anything here but the items looked good and prices were fair.
The best part of this Hyatt? The service. The front desk clerks were very patient with my many questions as a first-time guest. The concierge gave me the number for a local car service but also called them to set up my airport transportation. They have a number where guests can text requests; I had a very quick response to my request.
Room keys are required to use the elevator -- as a single female traveller I appreciate that security measure.
I'll definitely recommend the Hyatt to others and will make it my first choice for future SLC trips.

Great location for walking around downtown. This is a fairly new hotel and very well appointed. The food is good in Salt Republic. The lounge floor is worth it for breakfast- they had all the essentials and it’s a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. The hotel is clean and the staff were all very nice. Highly recommended for a stay in Salt Lake City.

It being a new hotel, the condition of the hotel is impeccable. I was upgrade to a corner suite with a panoramic view of downtown since I was staying on award nights as a Hyatt Globalist and I also received all the Globalist benefits (e.g., lounge access, free breakfast, free parking, etc.). This is perhaps the best Hyatt Regency I've ever visited, and I would definitely choose to stay here again if I was visiting the area and wanted to be near downtown. If you're visiting the area and are considering the various Hyatt Hotels in the area, this is the one you should choose hands down. It also offers tremendous value since it is listed as a Hyatt Category 3 hotel for those of you considering using World of Hyatt Points to book your stay.

When getting to the hotel, there was an issue with the credit card. After about a 40min, the issue was resolved. The fast food that was purchased and is now cold needed to be heated up. There were no microwaves on the premises. The front staff pointed to the Cafe to ask them about their toaster ovens. When I approached the Cafe, they acted like that was a ridiculous request and I should speak to the front desk. I knew walking to the Cafe that their answer would be no. It is outside food from unknown people going into their equipment. The fact that the front desk just pointed me there rather than walking with me to make this request made me feel awkward and uncomfortable. After eating cold food, we needed to feed our 7-month baby. They had no high chairs at all in the hotel or their three separate eating areas. I mentioned "should we feed her on the floor?" and they said "that is an option." so we then fed our baby on the floor. The website states that one of their amenities is "room service" so we attempted to order some food. I was then told that there is no "room service" at this time. If we wanted to eat we would have to wait an hour before the restaurants opened up or go elsewhere. There was no continental breakfast, free guest parking, microwaves, high chairs, or even enough ironing boards for each room. A front desk employee also stopped speaking to me mid-conversation once two pilots entered the building. There were three receptionists and a manager available, but the one that was speaking to me walked away as soon as the pilots walked in. I can understand the reasoning. The pilots are likely "globalist" tier members and spend a lot of money at Hyatt. I, on the other hand, do not travel much at all. Between covid and a newborn, we have no time, but we are still customers. Do we not deserve the same level of treatment as any other customer?

The hotel was beautiful, easy to get around. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were extremely clean. All of the restaurants were delicious and offered a variety of different options and were reasonably priced. They also have a market open 24/7 with healthy food options and snacks. I was attending a conference at the hotel and they were well organized from the main stage to the breakout rooms. The catering staff set up beautifully and the food presentation was one of the best. In the evening, they have a nice rooftop area if you want to unwind along with a nice pool. In all honestly, you really didn't need to leave the hotel. However, there were many restaurants nearby and the hotel is in the central downtown area so you can explore the Capitol building, Temple Square and for the ladies, Nordstrom is right across the street. Park City is about 45 minutes away for a nice day trip and the hotel is about a 15 minute uber ride from the airport. You can also take the Green Line, light rail system, from the airport. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a leisure or business stay.

This is a cashless hotel. Front desk was unable to make change to tip for valets. The hotel staff at the time of my stay appeared to all be college age kids, no seasoned hotel staff. Breakfast was overpriced ($29.00 for a slightly above average buffet and ala carte egg dishes at $17.00) Hotel did not receive their order of ironing boards so you had to ask for an ironing board if you needed one. The valet parking staff was aces, they had your car for you in a matter of minutes. The TVs did not work for at least 24 hours, however this was due to a global issue with the TV provider. You could still stream from your device to the TV. Rooms were clean

This is a new hotel in SLC. I will say that our stay did not start off great. We drove up to the building to find the self park lot but couldn't see it on the left hand side of the building. We then circled around and still could see no entrance on the right/back. This had taken 15 minutes with the lights and traffic so I approached the valet station to ask them and there was no one there so I tried to call the hotel and no one answered.
I then just parked in the valet section outside and had to walk in to find out what the situation was. There was NO signage anywhere directing guests where to self park. The front desk lady gave me directions and I attached a photo of the lot sign. You can see that no where on this sign does it say parking for Hyatt guests so I have no idea how I was supposed to come up with the conclusion that this is where you park? I understand they want people to use their expensive valet services but I should not be circling the block for 15 minutes and then have to get out of my car to go in to find out where to park. That is ridiculous. Put up clearly labeled signs.
So, that wasn't a great start to the stay but once we were in the hotel, I have to say it was lovely. The decor was beautiful, everything is new and clean and we really liked the room! The beds and bedding were comfortable and they have this text app where you can send them requests (extra pillow etc) and they respond so you don't have to call the front desk.
Overall, once I know the process (and hopefully my picture can help other guests avoid the parking confusion) it was a wonderful stay!

Solitude and Snowbird are the closest resorts, with Park City and Deer Valley a little further up the mountain.
The Club Level lounge was operated with breakfast only when I was last there. There was at one point wine and snacks but COVID altered that schedule.
I ate at the hotel. I think there are some decent options nearby.
No self-serve options. Cleaning services available and there is a laundromat about 4 blocks from the property at 154 S 400 E.
It is $25 for in and out if done through the hotel or $20 for a one time park per day if paid through the convention center who they share parking with. There is also valet for I think $30.
