Really ornate construction and generally professional staff. I thought it was odd that I had to call daily and ask for my room to be cleaned, but other than that I had a great time. The venue and ballrooms are most excellent for world class events, but the internet is weak sauce. I think that they could do a better job to staff the lobby the bar as I was attempting to entertain clients and after waiting 20 minutes I had to walk into the kitchen to find a staff member that was poised to help but even after going to that extreme the server said that he would see about sending ”our server” over i.e., he could and should have jumped in himself as he was also a server. For context the bar was not busy.

During these crazy times we had concerns about going anywhere, especially to a popular hotel. I called the hotel three times between the time we booked our reservation and arriving; each time I was greeted with exceptionally helpful and assuring information. One of my biggest concerns was that most activities in the vicinity were closed, which was not the case. They have a very experienced Concierge, Marcie, who has worked at the hotel for 18 years and provided lots of information about recommended restaurants and activities. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Therese who told us Marcie was waiting to meet us. Marcie gave us a personal welcome with maps, information and suggested reservations for dinner, along with a cold drink while we talked with her.
We stayed a few days and loved the people who worked there, loved the property and slept extremely well in the comfort of our room! During these COVID-19 times the service is upon request to clean the room and we requested it a couple times and it was done perfectly while we were away.
We wished we could have fully appreciated more of this wonderful hotel, especially the pool but we will visit again, especially after the experience we just had!

From the moment you walk into the Grandamerica Hotel which might be early afternoon for check in, you take a breath when you hear the harpist playing outside the lobby/lounge. At Christmas the trees were big and lovely. We had another room with children and grandchildren so they gave us rooms side by side with a door opening onto a small vestibule which could be closed so that the rooms could have their doors open with easy access to each other and still be private from the hallway.
The rooms were large. Ours had a beautiful view of the mountains which were breathtaking every morning when we opened our drapes. We had a separate shower and soaking tub in the bath with separate vanities.
At night we had small plates and wine by the fire in the lounge while being entertained by a very talented pianist. Great after a day outside in the cold.
Highly recommend!

Stayed in a deluxe room for two nights. The rooms are very spacious with seating area and walk in closet that had a separate mirror and sink from the large bathroom. Separate toilet with a door and marble flooring and back spash in the shower. The hotel has very good food and is within walking distance of an outdoor shopping center that has Nordstrom and Macy's as flagship stores. Their spa is excellent and open until 10pm. I had a wash and blow dry with Quinn and must say it was one of the best I've ever had. Staff is pleasant and very accommodating.

10 of us in SLC for a few days of skiing. Hotel is very nice with grand public rooms, a nice restaurant, a great pub and a nice spa. Our room was large and nicely appointed. The hotel staff was very helpful and accommodating. The daily breakfast buffet had everything including fresh fruit and an omelet station. that was good value. the Sunday brunch is way over the top with carving station, sushi, waffles, deserts omelets live music (felt a little like Willy Wonka). We used the hot tub/pool/sauna every day. ($10 per day fee which is annoying and that should be included in the room rate.) Good restaurants close by. We also walked to the Mormon Temple and saw the choir rehearsing. So the location is great. 10 minutes to the airport, ski rentals 2 minute walk and 40 minutes to Alta/Snowbird. If you want to ski different mountains around the SLC area this is a great option.

First, our arrival was marred with a cracked windshield from our brutal drive from Denver to Salt Lake City, and of course it’s a Sunday as well. Well, thanks to Gianna, the Front Desk Associate whom we were truly fortunate to have had assist us! She went above and beyond what was expected, she looked up places to fix the windshield and she was incredibly understanding and helpful. She even booked us for an extra night at the rate we had originally booked the room because of the cracked windshield. She recommended the Spa, which was an amazing experience, that I’ll address later and steered us to the best place to get a quick bite nearby, The White Horse, which was so delicious went back for lunch the next day. Gianna is a Queen!!! In total contrast, the young gentleman at the front desk the next day, who was absolutely useless when we asked for a recommendation for dinner. He literally could not be bothered to look up anything and gave us a standard paper with restaurants nearby. However that did not dampen our stay, the room was huge, comfortable and well appointed. The decor is certainly older but added character. Unfortunately we visited during the pandemic so we did not get to experience the incredible pastry store at the hotel as well as the restaurant.
Although our visit was during Covid, the valets and bellmen were incredibly attentive and helpful. The Spa services were outstanding! I had an 80 min massage that was so therapeutic, the masseuse actually helped my knee so much that I am no longer in pain when I bend on it! I can not say enough wonderful things about her and the Spa. My daughter also had a massage and facial which she said was fantastic.
If you are visiting Salt Lake City, the Grand America Hotel is a must and please ask for Gianna, she is the best!

We were given an accessible room, even though we didn’t need it. Other than the beds being full sized beds instead of the queens we requested and paid for, that didn’t make a big difference.
Cons: The big issues for us was the beds were so bouncy that it was hard to stay on them, especially when you are trying to not move during the night or touch your friend because the bed is so small. We got an executive two queens room so that we would have a sitting area to play games, watch tv, eat, etc. this sitting room is large, but not conducive to being comfortable. There was a love seat and two chairs. First of all, these were made like outside furniture to look like wicker, second there were nails and pokey things sticking out of the arms and backs and last they were just not comfortable. The tv was small and off to the side so it was hard to see from half of the furniture. Lastly, the first day we were there, I turned on the shower and the water came out orange.
Pros: The staff was so warm and welcoming. From the moment we pulled in to the moment we left, they were very willing and wanting to assist.
I feel like this is just a side note, but their Sunday brunch is usually very delicious! I have been before, but never stayed over, As they are trying to work around covid, they have had to make some modifications to brunch. While there is still a lot of offer and the staff is incredible, I would suggest not having brunch until it returns to a full buffet as normal.

We stayed here as a family of 4 over July 4th weekend. The hotel is very nice and VERY CLEAN, which I really appreciated. Every employee we encountered was friendly and helpful. We stayed in an "Executive Suite 2 Queens" (however, I think the beds were actually full sized because they seemed kind of small). The room was immaculate and spacious. Due to covid, housekeeping was by request (I liked the convenience of requesting a specific time for our room to be cleaned). My kids enjoyed the outdoor pool. We did not eat in the hotel but we did have a really good breakfast at "The Coffee Shop" across the street (Little America Hotel).

Chris Erickson was incredibly rude about reminding parties about covid enforcement while getting in your face about it. The grand America staff should ask parties to wear masks while 6 ft away from them and not 1 ft in your face about it. They clearly need to adhere to their own policies while reminding others. Don’t bother coming here for a couple years till this passes or a new hotel manager is in place with kind reminders from the staff.

We’ve stayed at a lot of places around the price of$250 so I was super impressed with this place. It’s a beautiful place and the service from the valet to the restaurant staff was outstanding. This is the first place we’ve stayed at in a long that there was no problems. Top notch service from the start. The hotel and the rooms are beautiful. There’s even a boutique for men and women along with a great toy store for the kids. We ate dinner in one of the restaurants on site. I ordered the filet which was cooked to perfection and my wife ordered the raviolis and she loved them. This is one place we will be going back to. Awesome place.

There is a really good educational outdoor museum has buildings and the history of the Mormons traveling to Salt Lake called This Is The Place there is also a neat Children's Museum. There is an excellent program from the Department of Tourism that has a discount for multiple attractions and all of the participating museums are on that. Check out the Salt Lake City connect pass website and there will be a ton of activities and museums
The outdoor pool was heated and open when we were there last month.
