Detailed Reviews
Very well thought out, modern in a great location. Rooms are just down right easy to use (curtains black out ALL light!). Bathrooms excellent, Ours had a wonderful shower! Fastest elevators in all the world! Breakfast cost ten or fifteen $, but is very nicely done, with high quality fare. I’d rather do that than get the standard, run-of-the-mill, free stuff! Of course, that may be a negative if you’re traveling with children. The good news is there are tons of restaurants nearby if you want to have a traditional gut buster breakfast. All in all, I look forward to staying here again anytime.

I was traveling to Salt Lake City for work and the Marriott was more expensive than normal so I decided to try the AC as it was more affordable. This was my first time staying at an AC Hotel so I didn’t know what to expect. My room was very clean and it had a floor to ceiling window overlooking downtown. It was furnished with a sleeper sofa, King size bed, and workstation with a chair.
There was a restaurant/bar in the lobby. The restaurant served an European style breakfast buffet and served small plates for dinner. The restaurant will work if you’re just looking for snacks or you can try to make a dinner with multiple small plates. I ordered meatballs along with hummus and veggies as I was only looking for a snack.
This location has a gym on-site but no pool. The gym has about 5 pieces of cardio equipment, dumbbells up to 50lbs, a multifunctional cable machine, adjustable bench, and yoga blocks.
The AC Hotel was advertised and I would stay their again.
Safe travels,
Steve

I had a 1 night stay here on a Thursday night in Aug 2022. I am Titanium Lifetime with Marriott and was booked on the government rate.
The hotel is in a great location downtown in Salt Lake City, within walking distance of various sights, restaurants, and bars. Parking was convenient and is provided in a garage for a cost of $17 per night. Check-in was easy but the man at reception was not very pleasant, not rude either, just maybe having a bad day.
The hotel is very new, clean and modern. The lobby has a fresh look and is welcoming. The bar and breakfast location are also on the first floor just off the lobby. Breakfast ($17 pp) is a very European buffet (meats, cheeses, Nespresso,..) which at first seemed a little expensive but after I looked at the offerings further I saw lots of fresh fruit, juice, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, fresh baked breads and jams, cereals and other items that made it well worth the price for a fresh morning start!.
The gym was a nice size with a universal machine, a rack of dumbbells (5-50lb), a few treadmills, and bikes, and plenty of room to stretch. Water and towels were also provided in the gym along with a foam roller and a yoga mat.
I used a suite night award and was upgraded before my arrival from a basic king room to a corner king room. It was a nice size with views to the north and west of the city. The room was modern, clean, comfortable and well equipped with all the necessary modern outlets and room lighting controls. It also had a fridge with 2 free waters. A great feature of this hotel is that on every floor there is a "Hydration Station" with carafes that you can fill up and take to your room when you need water (so many hotels try to make you buy their water bottles, this is great way to help decrease the environmental impact and make the guest happy).
When staying in Salt Lake City again, I will certainly try to stay here if available.

We stayed overnight here and we were pleasantly surprised. The first thing I noticed is that the hotel smelled really good. It was also immaculately clean. The beds were comfortable and the pillows were great. Everything was new and modern. The hotel is in a great location, almost anywhere you want to go is walking distance or accessible by the Trax which is a block away. We ate breakfast at the hotel and it was really good. Definitely let them make you one of the specials though, they were delicious. Everyone was friendly and helpful. There was a lot of little extras like lavendar packets you could take to your room and a hydration station, which was carafes of water and ice on the room floors instead of ice machine. This is my new go-to hotel in Salt Lake City. It's by far the best hotel in proximity to the convention center and Vivint arena.

Great hotel to stay in downtown Salt Lake City. Clean with large rooms, but lack of storage. Three persons in a 2-queen room on vacation for two weeks and was difficult to accommodate our luggage. Self-parking for $15 dollars across the hotel is very convenient. Front desk was friendly, but today, people do not allow you to talk, they decide for you. When we arrived, I stated paying with a gift card, when checking out, the very friendly young lady did not allow me to talk and charged my credit card before I was able to handle my form of payment. She was very nice an apologetic: “I reverse the transaction, they money will be available in three days”, sorry, but it is my money and she does not know how my credit card funds are. I recommend this hotel.

I’ve stayed here 14 nights total over the past month and really have to stretch to say something negative about this property. I have been a fan of the AC brand since it made its appearance in the Marriott portfolio, and this property is exemplary in what Marriott tries to achieve with the brand. It’s a modern, well-designed hotel that is very good for business or personal travel. Rooms are good in size and those that include sofa beds offer a lot of space to relax. Bathrooms are modern with good fixtures and rainfall shower heads. The bar serves up very nice craft cocktails and there is typically a nice buzz there every night. I typically eat a small breakfast on the run, so haven’t eaten at the restaurant yet, but a full breakfast option is available. Parking is available both outdoors and indoors, which will be helpful during snowy Utah winters. Location is as central as it gets within downtown SLC and everything you’d need is walkable from the hotel, include the City Creek mall.
The staff is friendly and helpful and typically email me the next morning after I choose to check -in on the app and use the mobile key (thus bypassing the front desk when I check in). I am a Platinum Bonvoy member and also a lifetime Gold member, and my status is always recognized and thanked.
I’ve made future reservations for this property and it will remain on the top of my list when I visit SLC.

Stayed two nights for business and got a great night sleep with a very comfortable bed and room. The floors are linoleum wood floors so you can hear the people above you (chair sliding :(). Sheets were soft, management and bar staff friendly and parking in secure garage (across the lobby that shares with apartment) was easy to get to. Bathroom well stocked with great shower and mini-fridge with awesome coffee in the room. I did not care for the breakfast choices so I did not eat there but well laid out with solid coffee choices. I would recommend this and I was happy with the location to walk to great places at night. I was doing business by the airport which only took me 13 mins and only around 10 mins to drive to the actual airport.

Hotel was very clean and beds were very comfortable. City Creek mall is in walking distance with many options for food. Parking was inside an apartment complex which was easy to use with room card and it had ample parking. There were some homeless people around, but I was told that is common in SLC.

The AC Marriot is just 3 blocks from Temple Square. It's beautiful in side and we paid just $110/night! It was very close to many restaurants and shopping. Main street is 3 blocks away. The rooms were very modern, to the point, sometimes, where form exceeded function (folks, we don't need square toilets... that's not the shape of our butts!) The shower was high with a rain type option (but weaker pressure on the 4th floor. The beds were great, the pillows EXCELLENT! Breakfast was a bit pricy so we went elsewhere (had a great one two buildings down!)

Lomunchi Thank you for sharing your comments regarding your recent stay with us. We love our convenient location to many local restaurants and we are glad you enjoyed some of them. Regarding the toilet shape, well this is a style feature that has nothing to do with a shape in particular. The AC Hotel brand has a unique sleek style and well, that is reflected from top to bottom of the hotel. We believe our breakfast options are also priced accordingly, ranging from $5 to 10$ a person for a great portioned and balance breakfast, however, we are not gonna argue Salt Lake City has amazing brunch options all around! Thank you again for your feedback and we hope to see you again in the near future. Salud!

Perfectly located in downtown. Several excellent restaurant, bar, coffee, etc options in all directions. Location really does not get much better than this. The lobby bar was a fun & welcoming crowd & the bartender gave great recommendations. The fitness center is well appointed with dumbells up to 50 lbs and a cable machine + cardio equipment.
The rooms are very spare & minimalist. Some people love that, others find it cold. Personally, I prefer more hard surfaces in hotels as it feels cleaner to me. They also had ample room to open two suit cases and still room for a small sofa bed-- plus a nice bathroom, big windows, and an extremely comfy bed.
Not at all AC hotel's fault but Saturday night was pretty rowdy around the hotel with a very large & noisy group of cars rolling by bars letting out in the wee hours and someone screaming their head off. But, that is what happens when you stay downtown I guess. Maybe ask for a room that doesn't face the main drag?
We found the parking to be less than ideal. There is a garage (pay $17/day) that is shared with an apartment building across the street. You don't have access to the elevator lobby so you either need to carry everything down stairs or down the ramp & we spent one morning wandering the garage trying to find our car since the garage access is kinda wonky.
Overall a good stay and would definitely stay here again.

Treadmill, elliptical, barbells. Pretty standard.
There were treadmills, bikes, free weights, a TRX machine, and room to do things like squats and lunges. I don't remember seeing a step machine.
