Spent 4 nights on the second floor here for work in November 2019. Limited interaction with staff but what I did have they were friendly and helpful, the room was clean but could be freshened up a bit in the next year or so, Chick-fil-A shares a parking lot so we (business teammate in the next room) ate every breakfast there (only breakfast bars, coffee and oatmeal available in the front office). Close to the job site and evening entertainment (lots of breweries in town). I'd stay again on business.

The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The motel provides some kitchen supplies upon request, but these are rather limited. There are no microwave safe casseroles etc for reheating food. We had to purchase some aluminum pans to use the oven. There were too few dishes supplied. The internet connection was spotty, and failed to connect sometimes. Overall, we would stay again as the location is good and the problems were not too serious.

Location and price is the reason to stay here. Beyond the obvious affordable price, the reason to stay here is its location. close to the highway and easy access to other areas of the city is a plus. There are a ton of options within walking distance of the hotel. The parking lot is a mess. Huge trucks and campers. If you are moving and have a large rental truck do yourself and others a favor and DON"T stay here. The aforementioned Chick Filet drive through traffic is also a headache. If arriving late parking might be a challenge. For the property itself, the usual kitchenware was not stocked and had to ask twice to get it delivered with the front desk providing the lame excuse "because of Covid" Cmon guys. They also had some very young and poorly trained front desk staff. If you have no patience for people figuring out their job at check out, another reason to look elsewhere. I generally like staying at Extended stay but this property was not up to their usual standards

Mark, thank you for your review. We are glad you liked our convenient location and found us to be a fair value. However, we are sorry your stay was not to your expectation. To make sure this does not happen again, we are actively working with staff to improve our guest experience. Please know, kitchenware is available at the front desk upon request. Your feedback is appreciated, and we will remind our front desk to communicate this more clearly going forward. We hope to have the opportunity to make your next stay perfect in every respect. Sincerely, Hotel Management

I'd booked this hotel in January 2020 after seeing good reviews online and the price at the time was really great for a well rated hotel. Fast forward to October and we arrived after a twelve hour drive from California. The first thing we had to do was navigate the traffic jam for the Chick-fil-A that shares a parking lot with the hotel. The neighborhood is called Sugarhouse and it's a big nightlife district so the hotel parking lot was filled with cars for people who had nothing to do with the hotel. We were lucky enough to get a spot after we checked in.
We got to the room and discovered a light fixture that literally was hanging from the lamp. I'd have called the front desk but the phone was broken. The bed was so hard it was painful. Not firm, but HARD. The shower is one of those water saver showers and it saves so much water that it's hard to rinse off.
Lots of homeless people nearby made the neighborhood a scary proposition after 9pm. Hate to say, but some of the hotel stairwells smelled of urine and I know that's not the fault of the hotel but would it be so hard to hose down the stairs knowing this problem occurs?
Aside from towels and toilet paper you have to ask the front desk for everything else you might need. Kind of a bummer not to have a coffee maker in the room when you wake up.
When I checked out the front desk staff were both very interested in my returning a spatula that I had never borrowed. It took them a bit to realize they'd mistaken me for someone else.
I've stayed at other hotels in this chain for my job and I expected the same experience here at Sugarhouse and instead the overall experience was of a hotel in decline. Perhaps that's due to the current COVID impacts, I can't say. Either way I don't recommend this hotel and I will probably avoid this chain after this.

We booked this room in January after researching and finding it had good reviews. Didn't find the room lived up to the ratings once we got there ten months later. Comp breakfast was no longer offered in lieu of Covid 19, nor was compensation.
We pulled into the parking lot which was blocked by about 15 cars going into the Chick Fil A drive-thru sharing the space and received the blast of angry car horns behind us when we were pinned in. Nice intro after 12 hours on the road! Then there was not enough parking as well as a rogues gallery of questionable people hanging out in said parking lot. The rooms were dated, questionable cleanliness, beetle on ceiling, can't open window more than 2' for air (and it was stuffy). We were entertained by thumping music and loud voices in the room next to us at all times of the day....as well as in the parking lot. The refrigerator buzzed when it didn't produce the sound of a jet engine. Could not get a good night sleep between the sounds and hard mattress and pillow. There was no luggage rack, bag went on the floor. The following items were broken: toilet paper dispenser, tub stopper, lamp light bulb assembly, phone. There was one garbage can for the bathroom, kitchen, and living room....really? Garbage mounds up with Covid room service. Lesson learned: Will never stay at this chain nor any hotel that offers long-term rent in a so so neighborhood. Felt like an over-priced hostel.

Stayed here with my Golden Retriever, who went to MedVet SLC for a procedure. The front staff (Hailey et al) were so authentic in their kindness toward my dog and me and surpassed my expectations. The LVP flooring looked classy and is tough and waterproof. The outside grounds are lovely with the large grassy area AND the walking path beside the creek out back. With Chick-fil-a and Cafe Rio within easy walking distance, this is a no brainer for staying near the 80/15 interchange. You can reach MedVet via surface streets in about 12 min, depending on traffic, and avoid the freeways altogether. I told the receptionists at MedVet to recommend Extended Stay America to any of their clients traveling from out of town.

This hotel is in a great location, walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Rooms were clean and front desk people where very nice and pleasant. Rates are a little high for what you get. The only downside is they have no ice machine on premises and its VERY difficult to get in and out of parking. Cars using the drive-thru for the Chick-Fil_A are always blocking getting in and out of hotel parking. I would stay here again.

The rooms are excellent. There is a chick filet restaurant in the lot where cars back up a little. Pick an upstairs room in the back of the hotel to avoid the car noise and enjoy the beautiful view! Great coffee!

The Trax line is within driving distance and very close to bus routes, you'd have to research the Trax lines as I"m not real familiar with it! Yes I would think the bfast would be enough to get your through till lunch. I didn't even know they offered that service!! As I traveled with my own cereal. Hope that helps.
