Always chose Marriott brands on the road.
We were on road trip from Teton to home.
Glad the hotel takes pets this is great.
But please clean the carpets or better yet pull the carpets up and use something like laminate.
Very gross.

Winter blizzard weather kept us from traveling east so we decided to hole up in a fun town. We found this hotel close to restaurants, the mall & the Clark Planetarium. Rooms were good sized, everything was clean, the sheets were comfortable and the bed was on the firmer side (no sagging ) and comfortable for most types of sleepers.
Room had a mini-fridge, (i think a microwave too) a good sized closet and a separate toilet-shower area from the sink.
The breakfast area has comfortable seating and a long bar-style peninsula with handy USB ports for charging your electronics as you work.
The best thing about the hotel was the staff at the front desk. Lola and the other women I encountered were warm, welcoming and professional. They exemplified a spirit of hospitality that’s missing in other hotels. I commend Hola Hikila for hiring the right people for the job.
The only negative is that the guest laundry needs some work. One washer had an out of order sign on it and the other one needs to be cleaned up. The dryers need to have the lint screens replaced. This was the only area I found to be lacking.
Thanks for the chocolate chip cookies, too!

Room Tip:Â I stayed on the third/top floor in 320 close to the elevator, but I never heard it. Quiet room.

Super convenient, a very good location allows you to access all the sites in downtown Salt Lake City, with an easy access to airport or leaving the city. Room was decent and breakfast was basic but ok.
Could not understand why they had to charge for parking. Lastly, noticing this in many recent Marriott brand stays, very little care for loyalty … guy who checked us in seemed to have a problem giving me a second bottle at water. Marriott will lose business customers if they continue like this.

The front desk staff was absent for long periods of time. The shampoo/conditioner dispenser wan't refilled prior to our stay, & can't be removed to squeeze out the last drops. The key cards kept deactivating. The grab-n-go breakfasts were varied from day to day - sometimes there would be fruit, sometimes a muffin, but not always. One day I saw the bananas on the counter & asked why there was no fruit in the breakfast bag, & was told that the fruit was not included, but the next day, it was. The housekeeping staff can't come in daily due to COVID, but they didn't pick up the trash set outside of our door for 24+ hours, twice. The worst part of our stay was the terrible noise from above our room (#256). Not typical footsteps from above. I thought there was maybe a laundry service or housekeeping area above me. It sounded like someone was dropping & rolling heavy objects on the floor. The noises started at 5 am, but on our 3rd day it started at 3 am. The front desk assured me that the previous guests had checked out, but the next guests kept the same hours & made the same noises as the previous guests. I had to call the front desk and complain about the noise. I can only say that at the very least, there is improper or inadequate insulation between the floors. I did not sleep well for 3 nights. With so many options for hotels in Salt Lake City, I will certainly not be choosing this one again.

The hotel room was nice but if you stay at the back of the hotel the bar beside the hotel will keep you awake until 3:30 in the morning. The walls and the windows were shaking. The Hotel knows there is an issue but they still book these rooms. They do leave ear plugs in the room and they think that is enough. I am a lifetime Gold Marriott member and I have stayed in hundreds of hotels. This stay was awful. Breakfast was also mediocre.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience while staying with us. Your feedback is invaluable to us. We do our best to maintain quiet hours inside our hotel for your comfort so we appreciate any and all feedback given so we can ensure a comfortable stay. We provide ear plugs for the comfort of guests who may have a snoring partner along or be a light sleeper and need that extra muffling to aid them in getting a restful night. Our associates did attempt to assist in moving you to a quieter room which you politely declined. We apologize we were unable to quiet the exterior noise of the neighboring business.

I expected more from a Marriott branded property. Many things were broken in the room. Even when I asked Housekeeping to come and fix it, they couldn’t. Breakfast was complete waste for all those who are vegetarian. I just can’t understand why Hotels don’t understand that Non-vegetarians can eat Vegetarian food but not vice-versa. So all in all not that great an experience. Only +ve was the staff at the reception were always very kind and went out of the way to help! Thanks to them.

First and for most, the staff was awesome! The rooms clean. The beds and pillows were comfy. All things this hotel was true and true to a Marriott hotel. The location of this hotel is fine except for the club next door. Marriott left ear plugs on the night stand but those would not even help when at 2 am there was an incredible amount of honking (I think people thinking they were funny) that continued for 15+ min. The music was loud from 11 pm and on. The people were loud. We had the tv on for awhile to help drown out the noise from outside. I’m not a light sleeper so this was disappointing.

Klutzgurl - Thank you for recent stay and review of the the Fairfield Salt Lake City Downtown! We are happy to see that your experience with our staff, cleanliness and amenities were what you have come to expect while staying with the Marriott brand. We are disappointed to hear of your experience with noise from the adjacent night club. We are aware that being in a downtown location some noise is inevitable and have therefore we have taken proactive steps to provide amenities such the ear plugs, white noise machines and our sleep well channels. While we understand that this is not a cure all, we hope that you understand we are trying. Once again, thank you and we hope to host your next visit to Salt Lake City!

This is the worst hotel I have ever been to. Too noisy and staff not friendly and not helpful. I was overcharged for their misunderstanding. I will never go to this hotel again. I complained about the noise during the 3 nights and no results. I also requested to adjust the charges, but with no luck.

Dear abdunaser2023, Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience while staying with us. Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one priority. We apologize that your Government rate was not what you expected. We did confirm upon check in that the rate booked was a government rate and that your ID qualified you for that rate and we are unable to adjust those rates as they are booked for specific room types. We take noise complaints seriously however quiet hours begin at 10pm and our front desk agent who was there every night you were only noted one complaint from your room. We hope your future travels keep you safe and again we appreciate you taking the time out of your day to rate our hotel based on your stay.

Stayed during an overnight business trip. At first I was taken a bit back by the price as I drove up to the establishment. Above ground parking and just an "ok" location. I felt like I was paying for a more central place.
Once I entered the Hotel my disappointment was gone. The lobby was clean and inviting. The rooms were nicely furnished and very clean and the bathroom was more than adequate. I walked to a local restaurant in 2 minutes and returned with delicious sushi that I was able to enjoy while working at the nice and spacious desk in my room.
The BY FAR greatest thing that I have seen in a hotel bathroom in years---- a WALK-IN shower! I know I am shouting, but how happy was I that I would not have to step into a straight-nasty tub to take a shower! I was so beside myself that I took a shower when I got there and then I took another in the morning. I even sang, a song, and it wasn't good but I sang it loud! FINALLY a hotel that understands that we do not want to have to shower in a nasty tub!
I will stay again simply for the walk-in shower!

I have traveled a lot for work and leisure throughout the world and have never written a review before. However, I received the best customer service I have ever gotten at a hotel before during this trip. The entire staff is very helpful and friendly. The room was also nice with a good downtown location. I highly recommend staying here.

Hello! Unfortunately we do no have a shuttle available to the airport. However we have found that Lyft and Uber are both great options, as well as the public light rail, UTA Trax will get you within a block of the hotel!
