One of the best rooms we stayed in during our travels through NZ!!! We booked a free standing deluxe tree hut room - loved the views off the patio and views from the wall of windows!! It was fully stocked with drinks, wine and some food. Breakfast basket delivered was full of

Advertising pictures looked wonderful. We stayed in a hut which had fridge, kettle, sink and microwave. Also very small shower room and toilet with the tiniest washbasin I had ever seen. However there was no iron/ironing board but one was available in the laundry room near

Hi Terriekiwi Thank you for your feedback. We do have a range of accommodation to suit all needs and budgets from backpacker accommodation to 5 star deluxe lodges and everything in between. I am sorry that the room that the room you booked did not match your needs. We understand that with the many room options we have it can be a little overwhelming to find the best room type for your needs and are happy to assist any future guests in ensuring the correct room type for them. Please let me know if you return to Franz Josef as i would like to personally ensure we find the best room for you. I hope you enjoyed the whole of your west coast trip, Kind Regards Oscar

The layout of this site was very good as pitches are broken up with trees/plants etc. The show and toilet facilities excellent too. We were impressed that they refunded us one night's stay when we decided to move on early, even though we hadn't asked or expected refund!

How far is this location to the intercity bus stop coming from Greymouth? And about how far walking to the downtown?
The bus stop is downtown and both are 150 meters away from the rainforest retreat (Franz Joseph is quite small actually)

Hi, We stayed in the tree house and it is very private and secluded. No walking traffic or motor vehicles go past it. So if you are after that I would highly recommend it. I can't really comment on the cabins as we didn't stay in them but if they are the ones I am thinking of they seemed quite good as well just in the main complex area. Hope this helps. Andrew
