Lovely hotel right on the Plaza Grande. Breakfast is adequate, i.e. toast, pastries, yoghurt, coffee, juice. Lovely, large room which, unfortunately, only had a view of a stairwell. Aircon worked well in the room. Comfortable bed. Over bath shower which was OK. Hot water, however, appeared to be turned off at certain times. We were late out one morning and there was no hot water after 10.00 a.m. We also had to leave very early in the morning at 3.00 a.m. and there was no hot water then either. There are no staff at the hotel from midnight until the next morning. We were there for a few days and some nights the hotel was very noisy - the walls are thin and you can hear people talking, babies crying, people coughing etc. The bar area and restaurant area are lovely. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Parking for the hotel is about 250m away and costs 10.00€ per day. There is parking on the Plaza Grande if you can get a space but no parking on Sundays or Fiestas. Would definitely stay here again and have only given 4 stars purely because of the hot water situation and the noise at times.

Great location on the square. The room was better than the star rating of the hotel would suggest. But ..... 1) The receptionist didn't speak English. 2) There's no staff on site overnight once the restaurant closes. 3) Breakfast was included but only from 8am which was too late. The first day, I ended up buying something from a nearby garage. The second day, one of the restaurant guests helped us negotiate a take-out breakfast bag. 4) Room heating was a bit hit or miss. My room was really cold & took forever to warm up. 5) Lots of noise from the street outside.

My husband and I had an excellent rest stop here while walking the Via De La Plata. The room and bathroom were large, clean and comfortable and the included breakfast, generous and tasty. Wifi was fast and reliable. Staff were extremely kind and helpful, especially Giovanna. Great value when you consider the location right on the Plaza Grande. 10/10

The strong point of the hotel os definitively the location, right in the hearth of the old town. The service, commodities and confort are adequate. I was convinced that the reception was open 24h/day, but in fact it closes at night. You get a key for free full time access during your stay, but for off-hours check-in it's better to call ahead for arragments.

Overall the hotel is not bad, if one disregards the bad smell in the room, but the unfriendliness of the staff made this stay on our trip through Portugal and Spain the least pleasurable one of our 11 nights tour. From the receptionist, who’s also waiting on tables on the terrasse, who was completely annoyed with having to give any kind of information. He didn’t make any effort to understand English, thankfully we had some Spanish speakers in the group. On to the waiter who “worked” the breakfast, who could not be bothered to help us make space in the dining room to accommodate our group. He didn’t want to understand or speak English either. Very unfortunate as the city of Zafra is really lovely and we had a great time there despite this unfortunate experience.

The hotel is a little gem. Friendly welcome and great to have private car parking close by. Room clean and bright if a little chintzy. Lovely having a balcony view of the plaza. Great touch being given a gift of Tapas in the hotel restaurant which was a wonderful place to eat supper and great value. We loved exploring Zafra which has some super architecture if you search it out. We will definitely return.

The hotel is quite small and simply furnished but we couldn’t fault the cleanliness, comfort and service. When we had trouble finding the garage one of the staff instantly got on his moped and guided us there. Although it’s on the main square the hotel is very quiet and serves good food at excellent prices through most of the day. Zafra is a delightful little town and this hotel is an excellent stopover for visiting the area.

Nicely located in the main square we opted for this restaurant as it is one of the few that are open early for dinner and we didn't want to wait until the normal Spanish mealtime of 8.30pm (think it is open all afternoon). There is an English version of the menu too. However, the food was very ordinary and the bread was horrid. A bit of a disappointment. It might be a nice hotel to stay in though.
