This is such a great place to stay!!! The house is just gorgeous and everything is so clean. The owners were very nice and checked on us to make sure were enjoying our stay. Its location is fabulous in a well kept historical neighborhood and is excellent for walking. You can walk less than ten minutes to multiple food options, anything from quick bites to sit down restaurants, even cool places to hang out and have a drink. Truly the best part about Sugar Magnolia B&B is the inn keeper Kathryn! She went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. Her incredibly delicious breakfasts and her infectious smile make for a perfect start to the day! She checked to see what our preferences were and has a knack for knowing what you need/want before you even ask for it. She was absolutely delightful and we just loved visiting with her throughout our weekend! This was our first experience staying at a B&B and I’m not sure that another one will be able to measure up to this one. We were sad to leave! We also highly recommend doing the modern southern food tour with Cristy at Food Tours Atlanta. You get to sample a lot of excellent food in the area and learn history about the neighborhood and beautiful old houses there.…
We had a wonderful stay and were made to feel like family/friends. The house itself is beautiful and perfectly maintained. Our room was extremely welcoming, spacious and comfortable. In spite of the heat of Atlanta, the house itself is cool, with vents situated throughout the house circulating cool air. We had our own bathroom situated across the foyer - the other bedrooms have their own en-suite. The shower was wonderful - perfect water pressure and toiletries are provided. There is a communal fridge in the dining room providing complimentary soft drinks and beers. You can literally help yourself! There is also a bar in the living room - this has an honesty box. Now our host - we had Kathryn look after us. What can I say? A wonderfully friendly woman who epitomises southern hospitality. One morning we had to get up early (for the walking dead tour in Senoia) and it was no trouble for her to serve us breakfast and coffee a little earlier (8am). Each morning Kathryn made something different - my favourite was waffles with southern peaches. She was just so lovely and kind. We were sad to leave! If we are ever back in Atlanta, we will be back. Don’t hesitate to book this place.…
We can't say enough about this place, recommend it to everyone, its in a nice location, clean, the food was so so amazing. We can't wait to visit again. Parking is tight for a full size truck but we fit.
This is a fantastic place to stay in Atlanta. We were celebrating a birthday and booked the 'Royal Suite'. The room was such a lovely room with a large sitting area, 2 balconies, large bathroom and a cozy king-sized bed sleeping nook. At night, the nook yielded a wonderful surprise, stars! The neighbourhood surrounding this BNB had many restaurants that you could walk to. This area also has many wonderful old houses that are from an era of when craftsmanship was very important to house builders. Not far from Downtown Atlanta, this BNB is located perfectly for exploring this city. We cannot say enough good things about the Innkeeper, Kathryn and the groundskeeper, Josie. Both ladies are very welcoming and are excellent at exhibiting Southern Hospitality. We really enjoyed Kathryn's delicious breakfast and delightful conversation every morning. We would not hesitate to stay here when we visit Atlanta. This place is highly recommended!…
Sugar Magnolia B&B couldn't be more pleasant. It's far enough from the city to provide a relaxing and neighborhood environment that has nearby restaurants, coffee shops, a walking track, and a great donut shop a block away. Kathryn, the innkeeper is a delight to talk to. The breakfasts were fabulous, and always included fresh fruit and then an entree...fluffy waffles, everything bagel sandwiches, cheesy grits, and an omelet...just a few examples. Highly recommend this quaint little gem.
We stayed for two lovely nights. The proprietors, Debi and Jim were excellent hosts. The Bed and Breakfast treated us with great music playing from the Beatles and excellent pieces of literature on the ground floor. There is an evening bar to help yourself to and the morning breakfast is delicious! Our room was beautiful with both a back porch and a front porch, that you are able to sit on and enjoy the neighborhood.
We just got back from Atlanta and stayed at the Sugar Magnolia with another couple. What a beautifully Gem….lovely Victorian architecture, terrific breakfasts and super comfortable rooms.beds. Many porches for great views and a perfect spot for a glass of bourbon and a cigar. Inn is centrally located next to all the hot spots; we saw the Pats beat the Falcons downtown, visited the Carter Center and the Atlanta History Museum. BTW, in case you did not know it, Atlanta and nearby Buckhead are for foodies.
Beautiful decor, but very comfortable at the same time. Common areas are very comfortable, both inside and out; front porch for people watching, and backyard garden with sitting area. Our second floor room had a lovely walk-out sitting area. Very quiet, but very close to restaurants and historical cites (e.g., Martin Luther King Memorial, President Jimmy Carter Library & Museum, etc.). Innkeeper Kathryn very nice, and prepares an excellent, daily breakfast. Inn also offers an honor bar, a very nice touch for those wishing to enjoy a cocktail or wine without having to go out. Also, Covid vax required (great!).
My friends and I stayed at Sugar Magnolia's B&B in August and had a wonderful time. The house is an absolute gem, and the innkeepers are exceptional. Jim, Debbie, and Kathryn were perfect hosts and made sure we had everything we needed (including a "box of stuff you may have forgotten" like lotion, shampoo, a sewing kit, etc.). The home is full of amazingly unique decor, and the Inman Park neighborhood is full of quirky old Victorian homes that are worth looking at if you have time to explore the area. This place deserves the highest praise!
We travel to Atlanta annually and stay at Sugar Magnolia for the Inman Park Festive. This year had a variation due to COVID but was pleasant and relaxing. The grounds are beautifully maintained and this B & B was part of the garden tour. The B&B is amazing and the owners, Debi and Jim, give the true meaning of southern hospitality. Katherine is a gem and her breakfasts are delicious and a fabulous start to any morning. Just a perfect get away each and every year.
