We were put in a room right next to the two elevators after I requested (in May for our stay in September) a room away from the elevators. They responded to the request with, "We're happy to let you know that the property has confirmed they can arrange this for you. There will be no extra charge for this request." The elevator right next to our room was out of service, so I thought that might help with the noise. Silly me. At 5:30am, there was constant noise like plates jangling and we couldn't figure out if it was coming from outside the window or another room. At 8:30 when we left, we saw that it was repairmen working on the elevator right next to a sign that said "Quiet time 10pm to 8am". When we got back later in the afternoon, the elevator was still out of order. I asked for a new room. They were having problems finding one, but said they'd call when they did. No one called. I went down again at 8pm and they found us a room in the west tower (we were in the east tower). We packed everything up and moved, then went to have dinner. When we got back and were getting ready for bed, the toilet starting leaking near the floor when it was flushed, I was standing in enough toilet water that the bottoms of my pants were soaked. My daughter took a video of a live worm swimming around in the water, which makes me think it wasn't a new problem. We were so tired at that point, I just threw down towels disgusted with the place. The front desk staff here seem to have no power to fix problems or do anything more that shake their heads. It was very disappointing, especially considering how much the room cost. I’ve stayed a comparable and less expensive hotels with way better experiences.

Hotel's Favorite
My first night at this hotel was rough. I arrived, unpacked and settled in to get some work done. Then I discovered a leak in the bathroom ceiling. These thing happen, but it was really annoying because I had unpacked and was trying to work. Also, one of the reasons I had booked my stay in the hotel was because I had a leaky roof being repaired at home. I couldn't believe it when my hotel room had the same issue! I called the front desk. The staff immediately got me into a new room that was the same quality and had the same stunning view of the river. Of course, I had to pack up then move, unpack and settle into my new room so I lost some valuable time towards my work deadline. However, the hotel staff repeatedly checked on me and followed up during the rest of my stay. They made sure that I had what I needed, that I liked my new room, gave me the late check out that I requested, etc. The customer service was above and beyond - and would be at any time - but especially during a pandemic when everyone is tired and spread thin. The staff really did go out of their way to follow up with me and make sure that after that incident in my first room, the rest of my stay was as wonderful as possible. (They also sent someone to fix the issue in my first room as soon as I left it.) The river views are lovely. The rooms have everything you need. However, it is the staff that really sets this hotel apart from others.

We were stuck in Boston while one of us was hospitalized with a medical emergency. We chose the hotel based on proximity to Mass General hospital. Hotel ratings looked good and the price was more reasonable than other hotels in the area but still big city prices. It is a pleasant and scenic 1 mile, 20+ minute walk along the Charles River and over the Longfellow bridge from the hotel to the hospital. Staff at the desk were pleasant and helpful. Larry, the gentleman who handles bags, taxis, etc, was kind and helpful. The room was just OK, a bit worn but still pleasant with a great view. The bed was comfortable. Seating was limited. The bathroom was small and a bit inconvenient, also in need of updating and minor repair. In room coffee is free but with only powdered creamer available. Bottled water is $3.00! The ArtBar restaurant in the hotel was a plus. Good food, good prices, good service. There is also a small coffee shop with pastry, sandwiches, etc. Just across the road is a small mall with a restaurant and retail stores. All in all a satisfactory stay even though the hotel could use a bit of updating.

Everything is grey and tired I’ve never had a less welcoming reception on arrival at a hotel. Small room, very small bathroom. Wardrobe door broken. One lift not working. Amazingly bad value for money. I’m staying here now, but won’t be coming back!

DO NOT STAY HERE- the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, given the price point. There are many hotel options in the Cambridge area, I'll go with Marriott Cambridge instead. Posted an extra charge to my credit card without telling me what it was or stating that in the receipt. Note that they don't provide any room service, citing covid when it's just a lame reason to not provide any service and probably to cut cost. None of the staff was wearing masks, so clearly, covid was not a concern. When I checked in, I noticed the bathroom did not have hand soap. So I called the front desk to ask for me, and they told me they would bring one to my room right away. IT NEVER ARRIVED. I could just shower gel, but that clearly pointed to management issues, and no one cared. Very stingy with their towels. They only give you two. And want more? You gotta ask for one. But remember, they did not care, so even if you call, you may not get a fresh towel. So why bother AC unit was SUPER LOUD. Like LOUD. Even if you set the fan to low, it was still LOUD. Bring earplugs if you are to stay here. The thermostat also did not work, it could not adjust the temperature. Also, the carpet in the room was dirty- some black gunk... didn't know what they were, but gross. The only upside was the gym. It was spacious, had dumbbells, etc. There's a Peloton for the Peloton fans. BUT, there's no water filling station. Are you thirsty after working out? Gotta pay for your water. The hotel presumes customers can fill their water bottles out of the pool if they're desperate. Overall, Marriott Cambridge has better gym equipment and a water-filling station.

Saquan was very polite and accommodating at the front desk. A great first impression. He took care of my wife and I and our little dog Timmy! Had a million dollar view of the Charles and the beautiful Longfellow bridge.

I had a suite room and when I went to put my clothes in the dresser the drawer fell out onto my foot. Lots of noise at 3 and 4 am people in the hallway banging on peoples doors. Hotel was completely booked but only 1 Elevator was working. The parking garage gate did not work with our room key. At the end of a long day the bar closed at 11 pm. Why even have a bar This hotel states it a four star It is not, my stay was terrible. And by the way , parking is $44 dollars a day. This is why I only gave it a one star. If I could have given it a negative star I would have. Definitely not recommend

This was truly one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Aside from the fact the room was kept clean and the bed was comfortable (the reason for the two rather than 1) the experience was unacceptable. My room was beside the service elevator and it sounded like the elevator was crashing into your room every few minutes. The service elevator should not be used from 8 pm to 8 am due to this incredible distraction. It woke me up throughout the night. I presume that they did not proscribe the staff to use the traditional elevators due to the fact that only one of the elevators worked. With three weddings in the hotel, visitors were often hitting the stairs rather than wait forty minutes. I was in Boston in early September and it was unseasonably warm. I like to have ice in my drinks. There were ice makers on 3, 5, 7, and 9. None of them worked. I called the front desk to request ice be delivered and I was advised that I would have to get it myself at the front desk and I waited 15 minutes to receive the ice. On another occasion, I was advised that I would receive ice from room service and after 25 minutes of waiting I retrieved it myself from the front desk again ( who advised me that I could get it myself if I wanted they were on the floors indicated above. The shower leaked water all over the floor with nearly every shower and the commode felt like I was in a small port-a-john. Finally, on one of my ice runs I was at the bar/restaurant I witnessed another guest practically accosted because he walked in from a wedding with a beer can in his hand. He wasn’t asked politely to dispose of the can, rather he was removed from the restaurant and advised that if he returned with a beer in his hand he would be physically removed. Boston is a very walkable city and has very reliable Uber service, if there is another hotel in the area choose it.

I felt unsafe and was unable to sleep the whole time I was there. Evacuation alarm sounded starting at 5 am and we were forced out of a dead sleep to run outside. After about 30 minutes, staff told us they didn't know what was going on but we should go back to rooms. The room was old and dirty. Body wash pump was empty. Hair dryer was tiny, poor quality, old and dirty. Was forced to pay 42 dollars for parking once I was in the lot. The parking spaces had 2 inches on either side (no exaggeration).

The Hotel is beautiful and couldn't be in a better location. Check in was smooth and Saquan at the desk was beyond helpful. A perfect gentleman. And the room had a wonderful view of the city and the harbor. I would definitely stay here when I visit Boston. All the staff were wonderful, however Saquan was above and beyond. However, after the wonderful service by Saquan it went downhill. The room was very nice however the toilet did not flush!!! I called every day, and the problem was not resolved.. I was a huge inconvenience at best.
