The location of this hotel is fantastic, within walking distance of many places. There was plenty of parking in the lot. The pool is kind of small, but it was clean. The hot tub was nice and clean as well. The room is large, with a desk and chair, a couch, and a table and two chairs. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were not the usual IHG pillows and were not as comfortable. Unfortunately, the room was not well-cleaned. The room smelled of mold and mildew. The shower had a build-up of mold and mildew around the edges of the door. There were sticky spots on the floor of the room and the mirrors were streaky. One of the lampshades had mold spots. We requested housekeeping soon after we checked in but the housekeeping staff had gone home for the night. The next day they came to clean and did not clean the shower doors, nor did they get the sticky spot off the floor. After seeing that the shower had not been cleaned, I requested the housekeeping staff come back. I pointed out the mold and asked that they clean it. The employee was able to remove the build-up quickly and the shower door looked great after that. I would think that cleaning the shower door would be standard procedure, but the amount of mold build-up on the door leads me to believe that the door had not been cleaned for some time. Further, the housekeeper indicated that nobody ever informed her to address the fact we specifically asked for the shower to receive extra attention. Evidently there is a disconnect between front desk staff and housekeeping staff. There is no place to hang wet swimsuits and towels in this room. I assume that people would use the lamp as a place to let things dry out, leading to the mold. A retractable clothesline in the shower, or more hooks somewhere in the room along the ample wall space, would certainly help. Breakfast was not up to usual IHG standards. There were no biscuits during our 3 night stay there. The fruit selection was limited to apples only and a couple of the juices were out of order. Also, the make your own pancake station was not in service. Our hallway also smelled like vomit our entire stay. As a final example of a lack of attention to detail, they placed someone else's bill under our door. The room it was supposed to go was on a different floor and the number wasn't even close to our room number. We have spent hundreds of nights in IHG properties all across the United States and this was one of the worst. Here, you pay for location but shouldn’t expect to experience the usual IHG level of service, cleanliness, or comfort.

This is one of the top places we stayed in Kona! The rooms were very clean and modern. Our room had a flat screen TVs with a number of channels, a over-bed desk so you could sit in bed and use a laptop, built in reading lights, and in the shower they had high quality shampoo and conditioner. The rooms had comfy pillows and we could not hear other guests. The hotel is located one block north of the main downtown area in Kona, so its very close to the oceanfront. The pool is small, but the hot tub is big enough to ft at least two couples at once. One of the only places in Kona that serves a hot breakfast - including biscuits and gravy.

Hotel was nice and clean. Nice area close to downtown and restaurants and bars. Breakfast was bad, they didn’t have orange juice, plates, pancakes or waffles, cream cheese for bagels, one day they run out of milk by 8 am. Cereal was always empty, I stayed there for 4 days. Bad bad breakfast.

I spent one night there recently to attend an event in Kona. The staff was friendly and the front desk clerk went out of her way to help me check in early. My room was large, comfortable and clean. The only downside is that the insulation between floors is not the best and you may hear your upstairs neighbors walking across the room. The breakfast service was nice and even though there was a line the staff kept it moving. It was also the most reasonably priced hotel in Kailua-Kona. It is not right on the ocean but is just about one block off of Aliʻi Drive and easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, etc.

This was our first time on Big Island, so we didn't know Kona or what the area was like. The picture on the website looked pretty meh, so I kind of had lower expectations. But everything looked like they were recently upgraded. Room was clean and well maintained. The breakfast is standard Holiday Inn stuff and under COVID protocol, you had to line up and ask staff for food. But since everything is expensive on Hawaii, the free breakfast definitely saved some money. The parking is convenient and being located along Ali'i drive is nice to walk around. I'm not sure if we didn't get there during prime hours or what, but a lot of the stores were closed. The area feels like a beach town, and a lot more laid back than Waikiki. Having a car is important, as I think a lot of the nice beaches are driving distance. We drove 2 hours to see the volcanoes and we did the manta ray snorkeling which is nearby. The pool and hot tub looked standard, but we didn't use them.

Clean rooms. No housekeeping until day 5. Stingy towel rations. Really absurd. Only 2 people allowed in tiny gym at a time, by appointment only. Seriously? Breakfast terrible, powdered scrambled eggs and very limited options. Extra $10/ day to park on top of sky high rates. Pool also tiny. Not a good value.

I picked Holiday Inn because it had all amenities I figured I'd need-microwave, fridge, hair dryer, iron, coffee maker. The clerk was very welcoming and held my bag as I arrived to Big Island before check-in time. The room was clean and comfortable. I asked for first floor room and received one as I have arthritis and do not like elevators. I enjoyed my stay there. It was convenient to the popular Ali'i Drive and also ATM/bank, grocery store and restaurants. My only complaint would be the breakfasts. Not real fresh food, no variety on fruit (apple everyday...I know an apple a day....) packaged muffins. I would like to have seen more local items from Hawaii available. Also, I know the pandemic is changing service, but I really missed having beds made everyday and fresh towels-although they did say you can fill out form on any housekeeping needed.

People were great. Low on towels and coffee. Service rooms every 5 days. For over 400 a night there are much better deals out there. Not a good stay for me On the good side well maintained ,pool was good ,breakfast was fine. It just seemed to be a place that is not well managed.

The hotel was very clean and well maintained. Our room was very quiet. It included a mini-fridge which was great for our beverages. The complimentary breakfast was average. Hotel and parking could use more visible signage.

Even though this is not a fancy resort, this hotel offers the best value and is very clean. The room and bathroom was nice and large. They also provide complementary continental breakfast. The location is just a 3 minute walk to the main shopping street.
