The Omni Riverfront Hotel has garnered mixed feedback, with its location often praised for being close to attractions and providing a pleasing setup. While the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms are highlighted by many guests, there are also frequent mentions of maintenance and lighting issues.
The staff's warmth and professionalism are well-regarded, yet some guests have experienced problems with housekeeping and service responsiveness. Although the inviting lobby and the comfortable rooms contribute to a positive atmosphere, opinions on value and the need for renovation are divided among travelers.

Detailed Reviews
My husband and I just traveled to New Orleans for a conference and stayed at the Omni Riverfront. This hotel has been restored beautifully. All employees, from the doormen, front desk staff and housekeeping were extremely helpful and professional. A big "shout out" to a new front desk employee,Louisa, who went over and above to help us on a special request. The location was perfect--across the street from the Conference Center, steps from the Casino, Shopping, walking distance from the French Quarter and Bourbon Street. I highly recommend!

Comfortable and on par with most of my Omni stays all Ross the country. Fresh lemon water on the lobby and a convenient lobby bar are always a good start.
Our room has awesome linens, an amazing mattress, and a roomy bath. Our windows were flooded with natural light. The view from our window was a bit uninspiring, as it is only if the parking lot by the river outlet mall and convention center, but we could see the top decks of the cruise ships as the cake into port.
The hotel is close enough to walk to Canal Street, the French Quarter, as well as most restaurants and places of interest in the Warehouse district. Everything you may need is nearby: Rouse’s grocery store is a quick 8 minute walk up the street and multiple restaurant are just outside the doors along Fulton St. Only a 5 minute cab ride to the Cruise port (or a brisk 10 minute walk if you like walking with luggage).
The staff is fantastic! I accidentally left a drawer full of clothing in the dresser, as I checked out to board my cruise ship. Once on the ship, when I realized what happened (about an hour after leaving the hotel), I called and let them know. Tracy at the front desk alerted the housekeeping staff, and assured me they would hold my items for when I returned the following week. Sure enough, when I returned the following week, they had held everything for me.
I was previously accustomed to great service at the former Omni Royal Crescent, at Camp and Gravier Streets, which closed and is no longer an Omni. I’m very pleased that this newer location is everything so I expected in the great Omni tradition.
One quick note regarding the sprawling layout of the hotel: if anyone has mobility issues (I was waking with a knee brace during this stay), be sure to request a room that is in a floor that is one level. We stayed on level 3, which required going up 6 steps and then down another 4 steps to get from the elevator to our particular room. It was worth it,since our room faced East and had great morning sun, but the steps were a bit of an unwelcome surprise! It wasn’t a major issue, but I am sure the hotel would accommodate any concerns if raised to them.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveler reviews.
As we travel extensively, and have stayed in numerous hotels, I have to say we were disappointed with our visit to this one.
The location was excellent and the courtyard and lounge areas look very classy ( though lounge and dining room were very cold….a problem we’ve experienced in other hotels). The guys who did the valet parking, the bellboys and the male concierge who very kindly booked for me to have a manicure in a local salon were all very helpful and pleasant, but sadly not all of the staff were like them.
At check in, although very helpful, the receptionist chewed gum constantly…not very professional. As others have said, service in the dining room on our first evening was dreadful….and they served up the wrong thing (which meant a longer wait for our food). When we ordered a half bottle of wine from the wine list, the girl said the one we had chosen was no longer available, but when we chose a different one, she looked through all the racks but couldn’t find it. It wasn’t her fault, but she shouldn’t have been allowed to show guests this wine list as it was wrong!
Others have mentioned the standard of cleanliness and I have to agree with them. We only had one room clean throughout our four night stay; the hallway was never cleaned while we were there (an empty cream container lay outside our door for three days); the bathroom floor was covered in paint, not to mention the cheap plastic lid on the toilet pan, and our room too had a strange smell.
All in all the standard of the hotel didn’t match the amount of money we paid for our stay.

This hotel is conveniently located near the heart of all “Things to Do” and important for us the Julia Street Cruise Terminal (5 minute walk from hotel). Our room was well appointed King bed (Very comfortable) mini frig, couch and chair. The hotel has a unique floor plan so getting to your room will increase your daily steps. Some guests also do not take care to ensure they do not slam the doors so you hear and feel that. Ask for a room at end of hall but be prepared it’s a long not straight hall. As mentioned in other reviews New Orleans has several construction areas which requires you to think about the routes you take to get to your destinations. I can’t say enough positive things about the staff at the front desk, bar and restaurant. They are so polite and respectful with great southern charm. Tim the Restaurant Manager makes you feel welcome and ensures you are satisfied with your meal. We even noticed he assists the servers when needed, no task is too menial for him. He’s a great Manager who obviously encourages team work. Kudos to a job well done.

Went down for Mardi Gras. This was the perfect location, especially for the ball. Staff was amazingly helpful in providing direction to the various parades and cluing us in on taking a cab (standard rate) to the airport instead of Uber that would have a variable more expesive rate.

We stayed at the Omni for 5 nights and I had to call housekeeping multiple times daily just to get our room cleaned. The housekeeper came to our room the first day, saw our pup in the crate, and told us that she is not cleaning our room with a dog and walked out. We then arranged to be out of the room with our dog daily at 11am to allow for housekeeping and told the front desk on our way out. When returned each afternoon to a dirty room. Dirty linens from other rooms lined the floor as you walked to the elevator and the linens were left there overnight. I've never seen a hotel treat the hallway like a laundry bin.
Valet also went missing as it took us 25 minutes to get a valet to show up to present our valet ticket to pick up our car. We got a manager to help us and saw two managers calling around for valet to show up as customers waited for their cars. While we don't mind waiting for our cars, your valet needs to be there for us to present our ticket initially.
We stayed at other Omni but this one does not it together. Worst housekeeping experience at a hotel. A basic service is a clean room.

Thank you for taking the time to respond with feedback regarding your recent stay at Omni Riverfront. The feedback that we receive is our most valuable tool in our efforts toward improvements in the product and services we offer. We take all feedback seriously and it was disheartening to see your response. While all Omni's are pet friendly, we do require the pets to be removed from the room while servicing the room as a safety measure for the pets and ours. My sincerest apologies for not meeting your expectations. We value your business and hope to meet you the next time you are in New Orleans, please feel free to reach out if I can be of any assistance.

We love this place. The staff is always very friendly and courteous, and the accommodations are very nice. The rooms have that “Southern Luxury” feel. Very cozy. We ordered Room Service and the Chef on Staff was very accommodating. I requested “Shrimp and Grits”, which aren’t in the menu. She spoke with me, found out what ingredients I liked and made the dish! The gruyere cheese was a nice touch! If she added spinach and bacon, this dish would be a hit! I highly recommend staying at the Omni Riverfront Hotel! ❤️

Nice hotel in a good location right across from the convention centre. There is an outlet mall across the road which has a food court and childrens play area. The staff are very friendly and rooms large and comfortable. There is only one elevator bank at one end of the hotel, so you have to walk quite a way to your room if you're staying up the other end (a pain with luggage and a baby). We were charged $7 for a bottle of water after check out, there wasn't even water in our room. I emailed reception and they apologised and promptly refunded

I’m extremely disappointed with our experience at the Omni. We messaged months in advance that we would like an early check in. I called 2 days prior to our stay and the front desk said we could call in the morning to begin the early check-in process. Before we boarded our flight I called to begin the early check in process and the front desk told me I was misinformed and we can check in early when we arrived at the hotel. When arrived at the hotel to check in we were place “in Que” for our room to be cleaned. I asked how long the wait would be and she stated she would do everything she could to get us in our room. 1 hour later I asked how much longer and she said with extreme attitude it would probably be another hour. 2 hours later my fiancé stated we were going to another hotel if they didn’t get us in our room soon and she said “I don’t know what to tell you, we don’t Guarantee anything” with attitude. I’ve never been treated so poorly in my life at a hotel. The girl that checked us in should not work around people. After I noticed her go to lunch I found her manager. Her manager asked why we have been waiting so long for a room and that she was going to check on it. After another half hour waiting, we found out that the guests in our room had a late check out. This Information was never communicated to us, We would’ve gone out and enjoyed New Orleans instead of sitting for four hours waiting for a room. The manager apologized profusely.
The housekeeping manager came down introduced herself and stated we should never have waited this long for our room and she said they should have told us that the previous guests had a late check out. The manager gave us a gift card for $25 and we waited another hour for our room to be cleaned. The room we stayed in was supposed to be the best room in the hotel. The room we chose to stay in was a loft king bed suite. I honestly was not expecting much. But I was expecting a clean room. Unfortunately that is not what they gave us. I literally found a booger wiped on the wall in the bedroom, among other really gross things. I was actually willing to let all of this go because by now I just wanted to go into New Orleans and have a good time. We spent the night in the Omni and I woke up in the morning to take a shower, and the shower was broken!!!!! I lost my mind and told them that I want a complete refund and I called another hotel, which was the Loews hotel, who immediately got us a room and has been wonderful ever since. We were supposed to stay until Thursday and we decided to stay until Monday because of how wonderful the Loews hotel has treated us. Just a side note the Omni did not completely refund our stay. I’m completely horrified with my $390 one night stay at the Omni riverfront hotel!!!

A very comfortable and nostalgic hotel. Friendly staff. The bed was the best I have ever experienced at over 50 years of utilizing hotels. Great location with walking distance to many attractions/restaurants/shopping in the area. An absolutely amazing experience.

I could see the cruise port from the hotel
Not sure how easy to walk there but a very short drive.
I think you pay for parking or it is in the car park opposite the hotel. I cannot think that it is free. Nothing is free.
It is within sight of the cruise port and yes you can walk there from the hotel. The Omni Riverfront is a great hotel and the staff is wonderful. My wife and I say this is one of our Favorite hotels we stay at during our travels.
Hello, we are 1/2 mile from the WWII Museum approx. 10 minute walk.
