My husband and I stayed in this lovely hotel from the 23rd to 26th February 2020 in Room 442.

The bedroom was 2 double beds with white linen. There was a chest of drawers and cupboard with the television on top and housing the mini fridge, a bedside cupboard with the telephone and table lamp. Tea/coffee facilities were available, a wardrobe housing the safe, ironing board and iron, a lovely standard lamp and table lamp, a desk and chair.

The bathroom had a bath with shower attachment, white towelling, supplied toiletries and hairdryer, large mirror and good lighting.

In the corridor there was an ice machine and drinks machine room.

There is a large reception area with friendly and helpful staff.

Also in the hotel there is a swimming pool, coffee shop, jewellery shop, bar and restaurant. We did not makes enquiries as to the costs of the restaurant so cannot say.

This is an extremely large but very nice hotel which is local to all amenities and we would stay here again.

A thing of note however is if you are staying here after a cruise, do not get a taxi to take you to the hotel. They charge $8 each person from the Terminal. The hotel is easily accessible by foot going through the shopping mall. It is a 2 min drive from the Terminal and cost us $16. The taxi driver doesn’t say anything when you book him. The Mall was also where we ate. Food was as good as fast food is expected to be.

Hotel was clean although the decor in the room was a little dated. Location was great for access to the French Quarter (on foot), the WWII museum on Magazine Street (by foot or via streetcar) and to catch streetcars going up Canal Street (although the Hard Rock hotel cordon will involve changes to a bus then back on the streetcar if you are heading up to city park/the cemeteries).
Word of warning on the airport shuttle - do NOT take it to the airport during rush hour. It was over 30mins late for the 5pm pick-up and in the end I resorted to getting a taxi. Hotel door staff say it is frequently 10-15 mins late. On the plus side in New Orleans the flat rate fare applies both ways between the airport and downtown ($36 as of Jan2020).

Amazing hotel along the river and located close to many locations such as the Aquarium, Harrah's Casino and Riverwalk Outlet Mall. We arrived early and room was already available to check into. There is a fee per night for parking so be aware or opt for the Park and Stay option at booking if available. Opted for one of the rooms with a river view which was amazing. Room was very clean and hotel is taking Covid-19 seriously. They place the sticker on the room door that shows no one has entered the room since cleaning. The staff was also constantly cleaning the common areas. Room was absolutely spotless. No issues with towels, sheets, or bed linens. There was a mini fridge, safe, hair dryer, iron and ironing board located in the room. On the 2nd floor there was a room with an available microwave for use. Remote is covered with plastic as part of the cleaning process. TV had a decent variety of channels. You can request housekeeping for room cleaning or decline. We chose to decline, and just used the text option for room needs such as extra towels. We really liked the hotel was connected to the mall and offers easy access in order to visit. All and all this was a very nice hotel. Would most definitely visit and recommend as long as they keep up the excellent work.

We were so disappointed in Hilton. We’ve stayed in hotels of all levels and brands. But for what we got, it wasn’t worth the money. You are basically paying extra for the location. The irony is that the location really isn’t that convenient. When a hotel is this large, you spend as much time walking in the hotel as you would down the street from a hotel a little farther away. There was a huge check-in line even at 11 pm. The bellman took our luggage and it was supposed to be delivered to our room. It took an hour after we got to the room to get our luggage. It took multiple phone calls to even get them to bring it because they took it to the wrong room and then didn’t bother to find out where the correct room was. We had a river view which was nice but one of the beds is right next to the wall so if two people sleep in it, the one next to the wall has to crawl off the end of the bed to get out. The tub didn’t drain. The hot water in the sink took forever to warm up each time even on full blast. There was hardly any parking in the self parking deck. FYI, the ceiling in the deck so is so low it will bang your antenna if you have a large, high vehicle like a truck or large Suburban. It is a long walk from the rooms to the elevators that go to the parking garage. There is also no late check out even if you are a Hilton Honors member. They charge you per hour for late check out. The front desk also never gave us the WiFi passcode even though they said they would. Breakfast options are limited and costly in the hotel - as to be expected in a hotel of this level. Suggestions are to go to Cafe Du Monde in the mall next door - which is accessible through the hotel or go to one of the nearby restaurants. We tried to use the app to check out, but the app requires you to go to the front desk which had a massive line, granted it was the weekend with big events going on. The best part of the whole stay was the worker who came and took names of people in the checkout line and said she would email our receipt to us so we didn’t have to stand in line. It wasn’t worth the price and was inconvenient and didn’t live up to the standards that a hotel of this category should offer. A mid priced hotel is a much better option in New Orleans.

This hotel is a pretty standard Hilton with the tired, souless beige decor you often see in the US. The hotel seems determined to offer the bare minimum and charges for everything it can. Eg diamond member breakfasts are usually complimentary but here you have to stick to the cold buffet items or be charged $8 per person. They were also offering incentives not to eat breakfast but the receptionist seemed so confused about it that we didn't bother. I know others who tried had mixed success in getting their credit. Petty overcharging isn't going to ruin my stay but it's annoying and makes it hard to relax.

Check in was very slow and we were moved from river to city view. No mention was made of this so we didn't realise until we were in the room which felt quite underhanded. The room was ok but the shower had really poor water pressure and it was hard to rinse off.

The location is pretty good but pedestrian access is awkward and involves a difficult road crossings with restricted view of oncoming traffic. There is also a section of sidewalk missing just outside the main door so you need to walk through cars that are trying to turn around.

This hotel isn't the worst I've stayed in but there are definitely better options nearby.

I checked in yesterday and immediately headed to work, here working a conference with very long days, so it wasn’t until I had walked many miles and was exhausted and back in my room I notice the light above the shower dripping, the tub dirty from that, and my bedside lamp not working. I called for service and they thought they’d fixed the shower and cleaned the tub and we got the light working enough it was fine. So an hour of my time wasted but no biggie - until minutes before my alarm went off this morning very early I was woken by gushing water from the light above the tub. So NOT OK! I knew it was from the shower above me but I had to insist I change rooms, and this was at 6AM when I needed to get things done in the next hour to start working. New room seemed fine but a lightbulb was out by the bedside table, they promised to fix it while I was out so I showered, hit the gym, and ordered room service - promised in 40 minutes, came in 55, ugh. 12 hour work day, got back to my room, it wasn’t serviced so no new towels that I needed and the light wasn’t fixed and I noticed my top security lock on the door was broken. So another call to request the lightbulb, lock fixed and towels. Now they do come fairly promptly and he fixed the lightbulb and lock but both of those should have already been noticed in basic room maintenance so more time wasted. And no sign of towels so I expect I’m not getting those. The hotel is showing a lot of wear, musty and more smelling, and it’s a heck of a long walk to get anywhere in the hotel, especially to the very nice health club that costs way more than it should for guests! It should be free for guests! If you made the walk all the way there and up the creaky elevators that literally have a sign to limit passengers to 7 max, you shouldn’t have to sign in and pay each day. There are no good signs directing you in the hotel, no good information in the room of hotel services, and I’m just over this place and I have 3 more nights!

As soon as we got into our room, we noticed stains on the bed comforter that looked like blood stains. We took pictures and told the front desk, who gave us a new room on the same floor. The second room had hairs in the sink, on some of our towels, and in the shower. Our stay here was disappointing at best, especially considering there are multiple signs in the room stressing everything being cleaned and disinfected for covid-19 purposes. The fact that the room costs 200 dollars just adds insult to injury. Very disappointed.

The Hilton Riverside New Orleans was clean, comfortable and in a fabulous location!

We used it as a base to explore NOLA by day and night and felt safe at all times in the surrounding neighbourhoods.

Drago’s restaurant was good and not too badly priced - our server brought us some complimentary freshly grilled oysters to try and they were so delicious.

On our final morning we exited the back of the hotel (via Riverwalk) where the Creole Queen is berthed so that was an added bonus too.

Would definitely stay again!

Choose room from upper floors, facing Mississippi River and you have magnificent views, we even saw huge Cruise Ship passing by. Location is great, walk along river towards Steamboat Natchez and soon you are in French Quarter, Harrah's Casino and MardiGras World(museum) also near, not to mention that Shopping Center is attached,so you can walk straight from the lobby to shopping! Huge hotel, so reception and elevators might get little crowded, but service was friendly and overall we had a good night sleep. Parking is little bit expensive, but understandable considering their prime location

We needed a short get away after being in quarantine for so long. The hotel did an amazing job at preventing unnecessary contacts. During our stay we were required to wear our masks while in public areas, sanitizing wipes and hand sanitizer was available all over the hotel. There was no room service or house keeping during our stay but I was fine with that. There’s a fridge and microwave in the room so I saved left overs and reheated if I was hungry later. When we needed more towels or anything else we called the front desk and could either come down and get it or they would leave it outside our door. Employees were very friendly and attentive. Was a great stay and had a fabulous view of the Mississippi River from our room. Will stay again when we return.

I would recommend you call the Hilton directly 504-561-0500 and ask for a room number that meets your criteria. Of importance, the only way to reserve that specific room is to use their mobile app - if it's available when you check-in. Otherwise staff will help you select a room once you get there. We have found staff to be enormously helpful.

You will not have an ocean view. The beds were very comfortable. Best views are main building, upper floors. Buildings 2 and 3 have good view of river in certain rooms. I would not worry about noise. Eat at Drago’s!
