We came to stay here during the National Championship on 1/13/2020. It was full of people. I stayed here with my wife (47), my daughter (11), and myself (51). It was great for this size. Quite as can be at 9:00pm til 8:00am. The room was some what clean (manageable for normal people). My Mother in law’s friend stayed here, and her experience was great too. One downside is it does not have many restaurants in the hotel. We stayed 2 nights. You can view the Mississippi River from your room. It has a nice pool. No smells (Weed, Crack, etc). One other great thing is that it has a kid friendly environment (no cussing and inappropriate stuff). Staff is really nice and janitors are polite because they came to our room and dropped off multiple toiletries and towels. Was 10 minutes from downtown New Orleans.

The rooms are all accessible by interior hallways to the cafeteria & a few food options like PJ’s coffee & Smoothie King.
The courtyards are nice.
The hotel desk are helpful & friendly.

The rooms are not pristine but obviously cleaned before each guest to a “greater than most of NO” standard.

The safety of the parking garage & attachment to hospital is worth the less than great standard found at higher end hotels.

We recently attended a sporting event on the campus of Tulane University. The Lakers were in town the next day so rooms were a little hard to come by. We found this hotel which was a short 10 minute drive to the campus for an inexpensive rate.

The hotel itself (Brent House) is really an arm of the Oschner Medical Center. I think its main purpose is to serve families of patients families who are at the hospital. We were looking for a free-standing hotel, but it is actually in the same building as the hospital. It was tough to find the registration drive as the it appeared that the 5 story parking garage (free) and hospital all appeared to be one.
Once we figured out that this was a hospital first, and a hotel secondly it came together for us. The rooms were nice and updated. There were typical hospital gift shops, cafeterias, and other snack shops located within the building. Only problem is that if you don't have your own vehicle you will have to get Uber rides to any sort of tourist attractions. It is not withing walking distance to anything.

When I added another week stay for my room I was charged a higher price than what I was charged the week before. I questioned Sheryl the night desk clerk about the difference in price. Sheryl ( who was very patient and professional) looked at my account and explained the manager would be able to adjust the price.
Manager Kimberly Freeze promptly returned my phone call and assured me she would look into the difference in charges. Ms Freeze contacted me by phone and email explaining what had happen for the difference in room charges.
( part of the difference in charges was on me,I did not bring my AARP # back to put on file for the room discount )
Thanks Brent House for having courteous and dedicated employees like Kimberly and Sheryl on your team.

Thanks,
Vic Kissel

We recently stayed here right after Mardi Gras for four days. This hotel was a booking from Hotwire, which was unexpected for me. I did not read the fine print on Hotwire that there would be other individual owned hotels included. The location was not bad because it was only a 14 minutes ride to University Medical Center. I did not want to pay for parking so this hotel worked out. I also wanted to feel safe since there were five of us sisters sharing this room. Since we were there or to visit our sick sister at UMC, and then attend a funeral the same week, it worked out for us. This trip was no vacation
or leisure so we didn’t expect much except a clean and safe environment. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The most important was a clean bathroom and that was provided besides the excellent staffs including housekeeping , front desk, delivery person who delivered our pull away bed, night security people.
There were security as you enter the hotel section after 8pm so that was great. Overall, they met all my criteria in a hotel which are budget friendly, safe covered free parking, clean comfy beds with fridge microwave and bathroom. I would recommend this place if you’re not looking for 4 star hotels. Yes it is connected to the hospital but we never saw that section and only the hotel side. There are mixed reviews here but it was not a bad experience for me and my 4 sisters. We want to thank everyone at this hotel for a pleasant stay. Everyone here was professional and even went the extra mile to accommodate us.

Hotel is next door to Ochsner Hospital in NOLA. We were able to park our car at the hotel for free & just walk over to the West Tower, which was super convenient. Saw the pool from the room & it looked inviting but just to tired to indulge myself! Hotel was clean and beds comfy. Had a single serve coffee maker, microwave & fridge, which is all we needed for our 2 night stay. Front desk staff needs to learn how to greet clients with a smile, which was never offered. Didn't appear that they love their job but that was my impression. After the 1st night we asked them if we could possible extend an extra night and were told they were full but when I looked on line, no issues. Not understanding that! (For Mgt, it would have been 6/17/21) Cafeteria was large, clean and had a good selection of evening foods. Hotel was reasonably priced and a good nights sleep as very quiet.

This was an odd hotel. It is part of the hospital and staffed by the hospital. So when you deal with the the hotel people, they are hospital employees versus people in hospitality. That is not necessarily bad but different. They are not there to run a hotel but to provide a service to people at the hotel. The fitness center is bad and most of the equipment did not work. The room was nice and big and pretty updated. The location of the hotel is not great if you want to be in downtown New Orleans. It is a 20 to 30 min Uber ride. However, it was discounted rate and during the CFP it is a good rate. Staff was nice. It was cheap but would have been more fun to have been closer.

I was traveling to work and my overall experience was pleasant. Although I did not know the hospital was connected to the Hotel. Front Desk lady Tamika was rude, inconsiderate, and very sarcastic!!!!!! I’m glad she went on lunch and Denise came in and made my day all better.

Hote is convenient since next door to hospital. Offered a low rate if child is habjng surgery at hospital. Pool and hot tub are nice. Rooms are clean and roomy. Stayed here a few times. My knly complaint this time is the beds are worn out. They were sinking in the middle. No matter how hard we tried to stay on edge, always rolled to middle, sinking. Also wished they offered more nights at low cost for patients staying longer in hospital.

More a cafeterIa than a restaurant. I went once and decided not to return because the staff was rather surly and the food did not appear too great.
