Very nice hotell, the wiev was amazing. Rooms very nice, service was good.
In the midle of the town. Easy to walk all over.
Also a shopping senter in the first floor. Good parking. Will come back for sure.
I have stayed at this hotel several times while my daughter attended Tulane. That was before Katrina. Westin Canal Place was definitely one of the best hotels in town. Excellent location, great rooms and views, friendly staff, impeccable cleanliness and management.

We booked a room the day of our stay - no problem, great rate, and finding the hotel was easy, so was parking - that is a huge plus for downtown New Orleans! We got in, they gave us a free drink at the bar...More
There's just something about this city that makes me feel at home. I don't know if it is the mood the city sets or maybe just me overlooking that water by this wonderful hotel Westin! I don't do a lot of trips but when I...More
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts
District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.

Definitely contact the hotel for rules, but from a practicality standpoint I wouldn't think this hotel would be all that good for a dog. The hotel is stacked on top of a parking ramp with the lobby being several floors off ground. You need to transfer elevators at the lobby level to get from your room to the ground. Therefore, it would be a good bit of messing around to take the dog for a walk. On the plus side, it is near the river walk and park, so there is somewhere to go.
