The Pelham is excellent for location, price and ambience. The staff was helpful and prompt when we required assistance. We were a short walk away from the French Quarter and all the street car lines. Great restaurants are very close: Ruby Slipper, Chop House, etc. We would definitely consider staying here again. The only negative was we were charged a fee on top of what we paid to Priceline. I still don't know what that's about. The courteous desk clerk advised us to book with them directly to avoid the fee. I think Priceline's got some explaining to do.

The room was clean and comfortable. With taxes etc. we paid about $135 a night. The bathroom was really small. We had no hangers or coffee machine which we had to request. It's close to Canal St, the French Quarter and easy to walk to anywhere from, but when you step out into the street there are many homeless people lying in doorways, people lining up outside Ruby Slippers which is below the hotel, and the streets around the hotel are dirty and full of pot holes. Not knowing the city when I booked, next time I will stay in the Garden District or a little further west in the Warehouse District.

This was a lovely hotel in a historic building. It’s located just off canal close to everything but it’s quiet enough that you can really rest if you’re visiting for something other than just revelry! It sits right between the business district and the French Quarter making it easy to enjoy the traditional French Quarter activities while still being able to rest and get to your business meetings the next day. The front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They were able to recommend great options for food and entertainment and were always up for a chat. I will definitely stay here again!

The positive here is that it’s an old structure so it has a historic attraction element. Furthermore, I enjoyed the high ceilings in the bedrooms. The negative is that it’s dirty and beat up. The foyer is dark and depressing, the elevators are disgusting and there is just a basic lack of freshness and sanitation everywhere. Even the pillows were like my grandmother’s—old, cheap and styrofoam—sorry Grandma. The location is great being in the historic section of the French Quarter. Fortunately, this was my last stay at the Pelham.
