Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.

Has a very class feel to it. The classiest part is the PB&J sandwiches they serve at 10. The location is ideal because you are close to the Superdome and very close to shopping. I will definitely stay here again for my next Saints game.

Centrally located and with beautiful rooms, Le Pavillon is a classy hotel that won’t disappoint. The rooms are luxurious with outstanding bedding, and for a romantic touch, lodgers can arrange for a bath filled with rose petals! This is definitely an upscale location for those wh

I’ve never stayed at Le Pavillon, but having grown up in New Orleans, I have visited a number of times since I was a child. Going against the negative reviews about the renovations, I want to make it clear the hotel and rooms are still very beautiful. It’s more of a modern neocla

The location of this hotel is fantastic! Very close to the Superdome and shopping. Hotel has been remodeled so it's lost a little of the historical feel. Hotel still serves PB&J with hot cocoa at 10 pm every night! Have stayed here twice and would stay here again.

Very beautiful hotel with lots of history. It’s been upgraded recently but honestly I think it has lost a lot of its charm. Maybe the best part was the chill atmosphere at the bar and one of the older Hispanic bartenders who was genuine and friendly.

Is Magazine Street within walking distance of the LePavillion?
I am not familiar with Magazine St. We did walk to French Quarter, that was not far

Are there hair dryers in the rooms?
Yes, I'm pretty sure there are. I usually never travel with a hair dryer and need it to tame my mane for work-related trips, which mine was. I definitely would have remembered if there hadn't been a hair dryer available.

I am staying here in November. Are there any reasonably priced restaurants within walking distance?
Yes, lots! The French Quarter is about a 15 minute walk, and there are dozens of great restaurants to choose from. A colleague of mine ate a Mexican fusion restaurant right across the street from the hotel--I don't remember the name--but she said it was excellent.

There have been quite a few reviews talking about poor housekeeping service. Can anyone who has stayed at the hotel recently able to comment on if the issues have been solved or continue?
I stayed here in May 2018 and I thought the housekeeping service was outstanding. From my review of the hotel: "There was no hot water in the shower on my first morning, but I informed the staff at the front desk, and the problem was fixed by evening. The housekeeping staff were very attentive and service-oriented, leaving extra creamers for coffee when I asked for them, bringing me a sewing kit when a button popped off my blouse, and cleaning the room thoroughly and promptly (went down for breakfast and came back up to a freshly-serviced room!)"
