Went for a Labor Day getaway with the family. We were looking for something different than the normal Bourbon St hotel and so glad we found this gem. Brian and Suzanne we so amazing! Suzanne went out of her way to make a list of local restaurants that she liked and the 2 that we tried were by far some of our favorite spots. Brian was super warm and welcoming and made you feel at home. The morning coffee drop offs were amazing too and those blueberry muffins were great! 2 huge PLUSES, free parking because you can park on the street and it's super close to Magazine St so we were able to walk to dinner a couple nights.

Questions about COVID safety: They did a great job helping us feel secure. You had to have a card to get in and out of the main entrance so it helped limit the number of people. Everything was mainly contactless so you would just need to request more towels if you needed them. They said they normally have a coffee bar, but for safety you just put the request on a door flyer and they pick it up and drop it off at the desired time so you don't see anyone else. We felt like we were in out own little bubble there.

We were traveling with another couple and originally chose the Henry Howard Hotel because of it's great location in the charming Garden District and the online reviews of the property itself. We had originally planned on staying two nights but the husband of the couple that we were traveling with had some medical issues that landed him in a local hospital. When he was released from the hospital, we needed to stay in the area because of his continuing medical issues and so we decided to extend our stay at the hotel to a total of 7 days. Basically, we extended our stay at the Henry Howard because of how we were treated...not as just hotel guests, but as "family" that needed some place to call "home".

The staff is beyond helpful! Suzanne, the manager, was very accommodating with our situation and did everything possible to make us comfortable. Maggie, Beth, and Brittaney saw to every need that came up and provided us with tips for local restaurants, places to visit, etc. Brian shared his singing talents with us in the evenings as we enjoyed some time in the main parlor and also visited with us about NOLA points of interest. They truly made us feel a part of their Henry Howard family.

As a property, it feels more like a Bed and Breakfast than a hotel. We stayed in a King room and also the Penthouse area which were quite spacious and lovely. Beds were comfortable and the rooms had several antiques to fit the house's time period. The nighttime cookies and turn down service were a very nice touch. In the mornings, coffee and muffins were available but we also went to nearby restaurants for breakfasts. We enjoyed meeting other guests in the parlor and also sitting with some on the front porch and discussing their days. These experiences gave it more of a feel of a charming Bed and Breakfast than a generic hotel. If we ever return to the area, we will definitely be back for another stay!

When deciding on which hotel to stay at for my trip to New Orleans i checked the top ranked hotels in the city and narrowed my choice down to two different hotels. The Henry Howard Hotel & The Pontchartain Hotel. It was honestly a very tough decision, and i read endless reviews from both hotels. Since I was traveling solo, I decided I wanted something smaller, with less of a party vibe and more of a boutique atmosphere, so i chose the Henry Howard Hotel.

From the very beginning the staff was amazing. I called to reserve my stay and the front desk agent I spoke with was extremely helpful. She helped make sure i got the best rate possible and answered the many questions I had.

The check-in process was very simple and the front desk agent was so kind. She showed me to my room and I was delightfully surprised how large it was. I reserved a Superior Queen and the room was beautiful. The designer really spent a lot of time thinking of ways to make the room functional & aesthetically pleasing. The hotel also offers turn-down service with freshly baked cookies... They were delicious!!!

Each morning i spoke with Maggie down at reception and she was great! She asked about my plans for the day and seemed genuinely interested! On my last full day in New Orleans I bought a copy of the Self Guided Walking Tour of the Garden District from Maggie at the desk. It was about a two hour tour and was really well put together! It was totally worth the $12.00!

All in all, I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to New Orleans! The building itself was beautiful, the staff was friendly, and the neighborhood was quiet, with plenty of great restaurants within walking distance. The first day or two of my stay I took Ubers mostly everywhere, but then used the cable car or walked to get most places. If I ever go back to New Orleans i will be visiting HHH again!

Extremely nice and helpful customer service. Beautifully restored mansion—simple elegant interior design with a modern touch. Located in a safe and quiet neighbourhood within 2 min walk to the tram. On-street parking only but with the hotelier's advice, we valet parked at Ponchatrain hotel 1 block away—easy peasy. Our room has a private balcony on one side and a shared patio on another side. Sink is outside of bathroom. Bathroom is small, clean and standard. Comfortable bedding with welcoming cookie packages (small thing but well-remembered). Morning coffee, tea, OJ, muffins from 7–10 am and cocktails in the evening, both in the main living area. We usually feel special when a hotel provides turndown service, a nice touch!

My girlfriend and I spent four wonderful days and nights at this jewel of a hotel. Tucked into the Garden District, an easy walk to restaurants and the Streetcar, it has an ideal location for travelers who want a quiet, more private setting. The hotel has an inviting parlor where we enjoyed cocktails in the evening before dinner (expertly made by our hosts Brian and Brittany). The staff and manager (Suzanne) were incredible. Warm and welcoming, yet professional and attentive. Their recommendations for restaurants and activities were spot on. We had such a nice time we're already planning our next trip!

My boyfriend and I stopped here on our way back to New York post covid world. Not only was it immaculately clean, but the staff were incredible. Especially Suzanne and Brian. They not only upheld rigorous sanitary precautions but also made our stay enjoyable and were the embodiment of hospitality.

As for the hotel, it was spotless. The sheets and linens were also a plus (feather pillows are always my preferred option, and the Henry Howard didn’t disappoint.) The location is also fantastic: smack dab in the middle of the garden district.

Thank you again both Brian and Suzanne! You made an uncertain road trip that much better 💕

My wife and I just returned from an anniversary trip to NOLA with a stay at the Henry Howard. We have frequented NOLA over the years and prefer (these days) to stay Uptown/Garden District but had never stayed at the HHH. Kinda stumbled into it. It looked like a good location for what we were looking for so we gave it a try and are glad we did. This would be certainly be characterized as a boutique hotel with just 18 rooms. The Hotel is lovely and the rooms are what you would expect from this type of property. Beds were comfortable and our room was quiet. Te location was great within walking distance to St Charles and Magazine Streets and quick drives to the restaurants we were interested in. (Commanders is a 6 block walk or a 3 min drive). The Rabbits Foot (right across the street) was a nice surprise for a local breakfast/coffee/lunch spot. The staff and service was top notch Brittney was accommodating at checkin and Brian who was there late afternoon was just outstanding. Brian doubles as Hotel staff, concierge, host and he can mix a fine drink. He was great. We had some interaction with Suzanne the GM and you can see why things work so well. Overall a great experience and we highly recommend.

After spending a few nights in the French Quarter at a large hotel, it was such a nice treat to arrive at the Henry Howard for our last day in NOLA. The Henry Howard is such a beautiful hotel! The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and very nice. We had a very early morning flight home and the front desk still insisted on bringing us fresh coffee, muffins, and cold bottled water at 5am as our wake up call. It was such a nice gesture and we really appreciated. Would definitely recommend and would stay there again the next time we return to NOLA. The St Charles street car is right up the street and will take you to the French Quarter. The next time we visit NOLA we will definitely stay here the entire trip and just utilize the street car!

One of the best hotels in the best neighborhood in NOLA! The historic charm and warmth of the staff at The Henry Howard is just the start! The meticulously and tastefully restored Henry Howard Hotel also boasts a beautiful front room, evening cocktails and amazing hotel only events such as free private concerts & receptions with internationally renowned New Orleans musicians. Need help with finding a place to eat or go? The staff offers suggestions and assists in reservations like a 4 star hotel!

The Henry Howard is one block off St. Charles street car line and easy tree-lined strolling to Magazine Street, numerous and local eateries such as The Commander's Palace, Shaya, The Rum House, Atchalchafalaya and Surrey's Juice Bar.
The rooms are beautifully decorated with restrained detail and a whimsical nod to the musical history of the town. The beds and linens are luxuriously soft.

If the free continental breakfast is not enough- there is The Rabbit's Foot market across the street sells coffee, breakfast and lunch items as well as a great variety of snacks.

Within walking distance of the magnificent Magazine Street for shopping, this hotel is everything you could want and more. The extraordinary beauty, charm, and elegance of this hotel is surprisingly surpassed by the incredible hospitality of the staff. There are plenty of things that make this place special, such as the uniqueness of each room; and the antique furnishings and horns, but it's the staff that make this place shine.

I was greeted by Dewan at the door who helped me with my luggage, showed me to my room, got ice for my champagne bucket, and called for a taxi to take me to a late dinner. And then I met Brian - the keeper of all things - the bar, the secrets. He was amazingly friendly and helpful. It's no wonder why the guests linger for hours in the parlor while he pours drinks for everyone and regales guests with his extensive knowledge of the city; where to go for all the best food and entertainment. Brian is second to none in hotel management and hospitality.

The hotel is sparkly clean and the beds and linens are incredibly comfortable. I will definitely be back; I just hope I can stay longer than a few days next time.
