Value
A must-see area in a bucket-list town, the Garden District offers the lush beauty that many come to New Orleans to experience. Here at Hotel Tonnelle, we complement that exploration with a deep sense of place and parable--all inside the comforts of a modern day Marriott property. Hotel Tonnelle magically manages to feel serenely secluded—and yet, right in the center of it all. One step outside beckons a bustling ride into the city on the iconic St. Charles Streetcar line, or a sauntering swing through the scenery of New Orleans’ world-renowned Garden District. Just as each garden’s winding vines dance across the decorative wrought iron, we invite our guests to join in the spirited allure—whether that be our intimate patio and lounge or more lively restaurant and bar, Seventeen Feet. We welcome our guests much like the sprawling arbors along St. Charles: where each turn is designed to delight the senses, beckoning you to leave your worries behind, and find comfort.

My daughter and I spent 3 nights at Hotel Indigo. W were on a girls trip to New Orleans. We arrived at the hotel before 11 am but they had a room ready for us so we were able to drop off our things before exploring the city. The hotel along the St. Charles Streetcar line which made it very easy to park the car and take the streetcar using a 3 day pass. The valet parking was an additional $30 per day but I was aware of that soit was not a surprise. Parking is at premium all over the city so the price was not too bad. We had a 2 queen bed room on the 3rd floor. The beds were comfortable and we had alot of pillows. The bathroom was big and beautiful with a large shower stall and a wall seperating the toilet from the rest of the bathroom. We had alot of counter space. The TV was very large with a good selection of channels. We did not try the restaurant off the lobby as there are several places to eat in easy walking distance. there is a small convience store across Jackson. We had a great time in NOLA and we were really glad we made Hotel Indigo our base for the trip.

We stayed at the Hotel Indigo the Monday after Mardi Gras. The hotel is in a quiet location in the Garden District, about 2 miles away from the French Quarter. You can catch the street car across the street for $1.25 a ride or $3.00 for a 24 hour pass which will take you to the French Quarter. The hotel is situated a few blocks from Magazine St which is a great street for shopping and dining. The rooms are big and spacious. Beds are comfortable, good towels, Aveda bathroom products. My only issue is that everything was dirty at the hotel. The carpet outside the room had confetti and debris from the 1st day we arrived till we departed. The floor in front of the elevator on our floor looked like it had mud or dog poop from someone’s shoes. That never got cleaned either. The men’s room had no toilet paper in the commode. The breakfast menus were all stained and sticky. You would think with Corona Virus that they would be cleaning the place well. I wouldn’t stay here again based on the lack of cleanliness at this hotel. I travel a lot and don’t expect a hotel to be spotless but should never be visibly dirty day after day.

The pictures do not accurately express the dreariness and darkness I encountered. The lobby is a little disjointed, not able to see how large and welcoming this hotel could be. The elevator is very small and when the doors opened on third floor I was really disappointed, very gaudy dark colors that let no light shine or reflect. My room was very average, no spark like the pictures show. The room spoke of no one cares here....
It was very dark and the lighting very poor.
The upholstery on the bench at the end of the bed was stained, the dresser had numerous swatches of unknown past spills the bed looked comfortable and the reading lights worked well.
Inattentiveness to detail was everywhere in small ways, add toiletires as needed, pay attention when coffee or tea needs to be added.
The front desk staff said the hotel had changed owners in December after having many other "brands" in the past.
The restaurant was rarely busy and when our group of three had Dinner I questioned what the 18% meant that was added on the Bill, no one knew!
Soon after someone called and said they were adjusting the Bill because the IRD for 18% was for room service....
So, I was there and made the best of it but will not return.

We booked a package deal through British Airways for 4 adults, and 2 Queen beds. When we arrived at the hotel the lady behind the desk said she didn't have our room. To which we were confused, like the reviews below mine she blamed it on a third party saying they'd only informed them of it being for one adult. But then she kept giving conflicting information saying things like her manager had pre warned her that they couldn't offer us a different room (not sure why a manager would be pre warning staff or why if it was only for 1 person they'd be an issue with our room) despite discussing this with her for 30 minutes she literally shrugged and said she only had one room which would fit a max of 2 people.

She honestly could not have cared less and just kept repeating that she wouldn't do anything to help. The next day BA customer service were amazing and fronted up the cost for a new room saying they would be investigatjng.

When we went to check in a different woman asked for the card for the accidental cost and cover for the five nights. THREE times I asked her to confirm what she meant by this as the room was pre paid so would only be doing the 50 dollars accidental. She refused to tell us the amount she was going to charge the card and we had to go through yet another argument.

The hotel is in a great location, rooms are nice but the customer service and what feels like an attempt to scam money out of us ruins all of that and I'm very suspicious given its happened to someone else this month.

Hello TalieD15, We appreciate you taking the time to provide us your feedback. I would like to start by apologizing to you for the experience you had with the front desk during your stay. Here at the Staybridge Suites, we want all our guests to feel at ease while enjoying the best of home and hotel. In your case, this does not seem to be the case as the events that transpired did not exude this. Furthermore, ownership and our management has taken notice of the comments and are determined to make you feel welcome should you decide to comeback. As we continue to build a home-like environment with a special sense of community, your comments come highly valuable. I hope you will give us a chance by staying with us again to show you that your unsatisfactory stay was an exception. Again, thank you for sharing your comments. Hector P Case Manager IHGService

Not a luxury hotel at all. Similar to a Best Western. No concierge. No food at all on site although the other hotels in NOLA all seem to have opened up at least their breakfast venues again. Hallways are smelly and stale. No clocks or radios in the room which just makes the room feel cheap. The headboard and bathroom door had damage. No mini fridge. Wifi is too slow to load standard web pages. The bed is quite hard and there are no extra pillows available although clearly the hotel is no where near capacity. Housekeeping still doesn’t come to your room during the stay. It feels like they are stripping services to save money but saying it’s a Covid issue. But they do loudly clean the rooms around you and loudly slam doors. Speaking of which, every door and every drawer is on a spring that makes a slamming snap sound all day and night. I definitely wish I had paid less and gotten a better known name 4 star hotel in the french quarter. We definitely over paid for this 2-star experience. Wish I could have checked out after one night to stay somewhere else and I definitely won’t be back.

It looks like I stay in NOLA once a year or so, and this is my second time staying at Hotel Indigo. It's still quieter and more comfortable than many of the places that I've stayed closer to downtown (I only got woken up by sirens TWICE the night I stayed here!). The front desk staff were nice enough, and the food during our meetings was decent, but neither the desk staff nor the food was great or made me want to come back.

Like on the last visit, being forced to use valet parking is a definite downer for me. I don't know what I did to the valet, but I had unfortunately already tipped him before I attempted to get in my car. The car seat was as far forward and as high as it would go, while the steering wheel was down and forward as far as it would go. I couldn't even get in. I saw the valet fiddling with something with the door open before I got there, but it was only after I left that I realized that the arrangement was NOT accidental or needed. What a pain! I still don't have my seat readjusted to the way I like it. And the valets were not ready for our meeting to be over, there was a line of us waiting for our vehicles. This third-party valet system really doesn't work well.

That said, the room seemed to be clean and comfortable with only minor "wear" issues. That said, the toilet didn't really want to flush with anything significant in the bowl. I ended up opening the tank to lift the flapper by hand (the chain was adjusted too long), only to find out the toilet tank was hooked up to the HOT water? That was a shock.

Imaging this... it’s two am, you are rolling in from a 12 hour trip, you get to your hotel to find out that Booking.com booked you a room that doesn’t exist and the city is sold out. That’s what happened to me and my three kids. BUT Lorraine at Hotel Indigo made a way and in the middle of the night rushed around and cleaned a dirty room so that my kids and I could have a place to sleep for at least the night. She was an angel and the hotel is great! This place and the people were a God sent!

When I say this was our favorite hotel of the trip that's out of five different IHG properties over nine nights - this place was fantastic. Loved the location and walkability around the Garden District (we went out walking every night around the area and to the locations we ate at each night).

The room was incredible (although the barn door for the bathroom could use something to make it slide easier lol but it made for a good workout sliding it open).

Staff was great and the valet service was very fast if you're needing to park a car.

Yes, renovations are going on. When we were there, one elevator was running and it’s a bit slow. The mobile key option is not an option but on the bonvoy app, it will give you your room number but upon arrival you will still need to go to the desk for the key. The hotel should turn that option off, it was a bit annoying to think you can go up to your room only to find out you cant when you get up the elevator. Minor issue. Also the bonvoy app indicates there’s a mini fridge. There wasn’t one in our room. Had a yummy crab cake leftover that I had to toss because I thought we had a fridge. The hotel and the app need to provide consistent info. Room was nice. Love a hotel with wood/vinyl flooring and no carpet. There was some mold in the shower which is surprising If the room was recently updated. Loved that the hotel is so close to the street car. The hotel was very quiet, we didn’t experience any noise, we were on the 7th floor. Bed was comfortable. They had complementary ice water near the check in desk that we enjoyed after a long day. Desk staff were professional and friendly.
