Nestled near the French Quarter, Virgin Hotels New Orleans garners praise for its stellar location and eclectic vibe. Guests are enamored with the stylish and comfortable rooms, though some have noted occasional lapses in cleanliness and noise control. While the vibrant rooftop pool and modern amenities are a hit, issues with pool access and extra charges have affected some visitors' perceptions of value. Service is generally lauded for being attentive and friendly, but not without a few reports of inconsistency. Overall, the hotel's atmosphere and amenities tend to leave a lasting impression.

I really enjoyed my stay at Virgin hotels New Orleans due to the fact that the hospitality was phenomenal. Tracey At the front desk was very helpful with any questions that I had and also very personable. I liked the fact that all of the staff members knew your name and they even knew my dogs name, Miko when we were entering and exiting the facility. I think thats what makes this place great is the exceptional hospitality that the hotel members provide. The hotel it’s self is very swanky and upscale. The chamber room is also nicely decorated and the bed was definitely comfortable and I slept well in it and you can’t hear any outside noise from the other rooms. The location is also very nice as it’s very close to the Superdome, restaurants, rouses grocery store, the casino and shopping. The bellboy was also very helpful with whatever I needed and I would definitely stay at this hotel again over a different hotel in the New Orleans area. Thank you so much!!!

Despite the obvious narcissism of billionaire Richard Branson, whose visage appears in a framed poster in every room, when you turn on the TV, and possibly traumatic to a young child - a life size bunny with his face on it in the ‘funny library’ (sic), this hotel is beautifully appointed, minimally yet elegantly decorated and everything one expects from the Virgin Brand. Happily for the bunny and people like me, here for business and pleasure, not too many kids around. It’s the best. Despite a few anecdotal issues (asking for tea in a hotel who’s ancestry literally lies in tea land) was a stretch, and trying to resist the gummy bears in the bar (fail), the hotel is in the heart of the CBD close to the French Quarter, and walking distance from some good restaurants. Although I was here on business, I’m sure for the price of a room here the sheets could be softer and of a higher thread count. Very quaint with a sheet, a comforter and a sheet over that- the English/ Australian way (those are the only places I’ve seen such a thing). Ordering Room Service was disappointing (imagine receiving your steak in a take out box, including plastic silverware, excluding a plate or even a steak knife). Easily remedied by requesting plates and silverware which made the experience, well, like what room service used to be, beats me why they are still doing this? Covid perhaps?

The absolute cherry on the top at this hotel however, is the staff. Especially Brittany who works at the front desk. Brittany always has a smile on her face, is ready to help with anything you might need, including a nice chat whilst waiting for (good) coffee in the mornings. Brittany will go all out to make one feel comfortable and she made my stay in this hotel worth every minute.

From the front desk, to the doorman (always a smile on his face and always happy), the valets, the ‘bell hops’ the wait staff and security, I would stay here in a heartbeat again, because after a long day at work it feels like coming home.

Last word, this is a fun, casual, trendy hotel. If you’re looking for stuffy, gaudy or the Ritz, this is not the place for you. If you want some fun, good food, good cocktails, some party time at the pool and bar on the 13th floor, (this is New Orleans after all), and the best service staff ever, this is the hotel for you. Please say hi to Brittany for me.

Upon arriving at the hotel we were pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the staff and the interesting aesthetics of the library. We were encouraged by the immediate checking of our vaccination status prior to the check-in process. Unfortunately our delight in customer service by the very friendly and competent staff was undone when we arrived in our queen chamber to discover there were no windows and no access to the outside. Being a person with claustrophobia and anxiety, this room simply was not a viable option. We called to the front desk to ask if there were any other rooms available with windows and were told that all queen rooms were windowless. After a few minutes of panic and anxiety I decided to return to the front desk to inquire about other options. Again, I was told that queen rooms were all windowless and they were sold out for the weekend so we would not be able to upgrade to a room with windows. At that point I asked if I could be reimbursed so that we could find a more suitable hotel and was told that there were no reimbursements available. We decided to step out to find some food and get some fresh air, and about 15 minutes later we received a phone call from the manager letting us know that there was a cancellation and we could upgrade to a King room. We returned to the hotel, packed up and moved to our new room…which was outstanding.

In short, this is a beautiful hotel with very friendly, competent staff. The rooftop is amazing and the bartenders make a wicked cosmopolitan. However, if you have claustrophobia or anxiety, I would highly recommend avoiding queen chambers.

I almost don't want to write the stellar review this place deserves as its going to get too hard to get a room here. Well, they deserve the 5 star review. First, the customer service is outstanding, from the bell staff, front desk, bar and restaurant, everyone says hi, welcome back, remembers your name, goes out of their way to help.
When I was considering moving from our location in the CBD to the 'other side of Poydras" where it is less crazy and dirty, I walked the area and went into many hotels. The Virgin gave me a tour, showed me the rooms (WOW) and was so helpful (twice as I went back with my husband to show him). We stayed here for an extended period of and did not want to leave. The rooms are brilliant. The sleeping area can be closed off from the dressing room/bathroom area. Each function has its own space and is the best hotel room design I have ever seen. The smart TV connects to your phone where you can cast whatever you want to watch.
The rooftop pool club is really special and we loved spending time there. Quiet during the week, not quiet on Saturday or Sunday (Saturday most busy day)
Though the pool is small, the roof is not and there are many seating areas to hang out. The second floor as well as the Common Club lounge also has many seating areas, Brunch pre game on Sunday was great. The bartenders at the roof and common club were amazing.
The front desk staff always smiles and is so welcoming.
Can't wait to return.

Undoubtedly, The Virgin Hotel is my favorite hotel in New Orleans! Upon late arrival, I was welcomed by Tina and Danielle, who were extremely friendly. Opal Ovide, the Director of Customer Experience, had upgraded my stay to a fantastic corner suite. Opal had already left for the day but made a special effort to email me to ensure I was happy with the accommodations.

The rooms at the Virgin are very modern and clean, with single-touch lighting and device charging outlets throughout the unit. The double doors separating the sleeping quarters from the room entrance keep out all unwanted noise from other guests.

The restaurant food was delicious, and Jason, Mary, and Elliott in the bar deserve special thanks for the great drinks and conversations. I also ordered breakfast room service, which took less than fifteen minutes!

The atmosphere at the Virgin Hotel and the incredibly friendly staff make this a special place to visit. I had two great evenings here, and the experience was fantastic! I will be back soon.

I recently spent several nights at the new Virgin Hotel and was wonderfully impressed with the hotel and its personnel. However, there were 2 women, Brittany and Tina who manned the desk most days who provided the most outstanding service during my stay. They were highly efficient, answered all of my questions and addressed any issues I had with a smile. They greeted me by name anytime they were working and always asked whether I needed anything or could help in any way. Any request I had, such as providing me with extra towels or checking a charge that appeared on my credit card was handled professionally and quickly. I hope that these 2 women are present in April 2020 when I have many friends staying in the hotel at the time of my daughter's wedding. It will make me feel very good to know that my friends will see a smiling face and be well taken care of.

From the moment we arrived the doorman was welcoming and knowledgeable.
The front desk was friendly & patient ( 2 rooms for 5 of us) and they upgraded our rooms next to each other with city view.
The rooms were very nice and quiet, even though we were close to the rooftop bar we never heard music or other people wandering thru the hallways.
The breakfast in the hotel restaurant was also very good. No coffee in rooms. We called room service and they were there in less than 20 min both days we stayed.
Regarding the hotel proximity to sights; we walked some but mostly got ubers to places for $15-25 each way.

As soon as you pull up to the hotel, it smells clean and fresh. My chamber was wonderfully designed. The vanity with lighted mirror was perfect for getting ready each morning. Two separate closet areas included luggage racks, a shoe rack and a safe. The design made me feel organized and comfortable. A shower bench, rainfall shower, handheld shower wand, dimmable lighting and fresh-smelling bath products made for a perfect shower experience. A desk next to the bed was convenient, and the mini-bar was well-appointed. The room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. Every staff member was friendly and accommodating. I wish there were more Virgin Hotels to visit!

Virgin Hotel New Orleans: Great Location, fantastic vibe, always helpful staff, gorgeous interiors, smooth easy feeling and extraordinary attention to customer service. We had the Reddi-Bishop wedding weekend extravaganza on Nov 12, 2022. Our combined friends and families had over 25+ rooms booked. The Sir Richards Suite (Penthouse) was also booked for the Bridal party (MUST do) so the Brides party and aunts and mothers and grandmas had their goddess time all morning of the wedding where we had the makeup and hair artists come spoil and pamper us.

Initially, we did have some challenges with the booking as we had so many rooms and we had a special needs member in our family for whom we wanted a room adjacent to his family and with the busy weekend crowd it was a bit difficult, however, the Virgin Hotel team made it work.

The Hotel Staff rolled out the red carpet and we supplied the red rose and requested them to deck out the honeymoon penthouse for after the couple comes back from being married (see pics). so ADORABLE!

The rooms were plush with soaps, lotions, shampoo, etc and loads of towels/pillows, and basics. very comfortable. Thank you!

We rented the Sandbox area above the groovy bar and lounge area to host our Meet & Greet the day before the wedding. We also enjoyed the DJ night which was an event that was a Hotel hosted event on Thursday Eve at the Pool for all guests. This hotel was hopping with activity and fun. The Coffee bar downstairs was a great start to each day! Thank you!

Special thanks to the many many folks on the Virgin team, many names I am going to miss I know, so sorry, here are some I do remember: Brittany, Opal, Lashondra, Zariyah & Damien.

I would say this is more a place for partying than sleeping — which may or may not be your vibe for a weekend in NoLa.

The staff was generally great and did all the could to address any of our complaints. The common areas are indeed really cool and well-designed — from the cafe, bar, and restaurant on the 1st floor — to the pool deck with city views on the 13th floor. But I still wouldn’t be back.

My biggest complaint is that we didn’t really know how much of a party scene this would be. So if you’re planning to go to bed before midnight on any given weekend (and not completely drunk), you might be kept awake by the loud music vibrating your room from the Pool Club. You can hear it all the way down the block — so you can definitely hear it just a few floors below — like that feeling driving next to a car blasting their bass on max. It went on until 11pm one night, 2am another night, etc. The AC vent is also right next to the bed and constantly buzzing — but the 2 noises didn’t really cancel each other out. I was just completely exhausted by the time I checked out.

The party scene also means good luck getting into brunch or onto the pool deck as a guest. Don’t plan to just walk out there midday and grab a spot for a drink outside. And even if you DO get in, be prepared for it to get extremely crowded and messy and loud.

If the party scene is for you and you DO choose to stay here, make sure you get a room with a view. Non-view rooms here may face an air shaft and be completely dark all day — so they feel a little like a dungeon. Not only unpleasant, but also difficult to do makeup, know when the sun is up, etc. The rooms with views are bright and airy and beautiful — it’s like night and day. However, the prices will definitely reflect this.

If it’s not that big of a difference I would. The rooftop pool and bar are very lively and I went there almost everyday. It’s one of the few rooftop available. So that’s why I would do it. But if you don’t plan on going there the regular room would work just fine. They’re all nice!

We were there for 6 days 2/24-3/3. Never had a problem getting seats at at the pool/bar in the afternoons. We were out to dinner every night & didn't go up to the roof in the evening. However, it was warm enough to swim but not the height of the summer season. (Note: the pool is very small .)
