Maison De La Luz captivates guests with its beautifully blended historic and modern decor that creates an intimate vibe, a detail often highlighted by travelers. While the hotel boasts commendable amenities like an art deco honor bar and a speakeasy, some visitors mention occasional lapses in coffee service. The cleanliness and spacious, stylish rooms receive high marks, yet a few guests have encountered housekeeping inconsistencies. Situated in a prime New Orleans location, the hotel is lauded for its convenience. Despite the warm and personalized service, some travelers question the value due to the premium pricing.

The Central Business District is not some place I usually stay, it most definitely has a lot of a great restaurants and cool bars but somehow I always end up staying in other areas of New Orleans. My stay at Maison de la Luz has made me realize I've probably been making a huge mistake.

I loved this hotel! And so did all my friends, we were blown away by the service, the décor, the food and don't even get me started on the cocktails in Bar Marilou!

My favorite touch was the morning coffee delivery! We where asked at check in if we wanted coffee in our rooms (which we did) but also warned that they would not be knocking on the door, only leaving it for us to bring in at our leisure. What a wonderful, perfect concept! We asked for it to be delivered at 8am but ended up sleeping in till 8:30 (a bit of a luxury to not worry about an alarm) and opened the door to find a thermos of fresh hot coffee waiting outside!

I haven't even mentioned how fab the staff is! And now I'm adducted to evening charcuterie and a glass of wine (even after arriving back home).
Bottom line, a wonderful hotel I whole heartedly recommend and would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Just stayed 5 nights at the Maison De La Luz over Thanksgiving week. The hotel followed top notch cleaning protocols and sent coffee to the room everyday (which I believe they do during non pandemic times too). Staff were professional, friendly and accommodating. Rooms were beautiful with an updated local flair. Wished we could have taken advantage of the stunning common areas...next time!! Also great location.

A very well designed boutique hotel. Love the attention to detail from the shower door handle to lighting fixtures in the room. Staff is friendly. 10-15 minutes walk to the French Quarter. Quiet yet close enough to restaurants and shops. The only thing I would say there’s room for improvement is their breakfast offering. Continental breakfast seems a little stingy especially for the price you’re paying for the room. Overall highly recommended for couples that want to enjoy NOLA for a few days.

I spent three nights at the Maison de la Luz. The hotel is beautiful, well located with lovely rooms. The front desk staff were all very nice and appeared at first to be attentive. I asked for a quiet room, and they were kind enough to give me one on the top floor. It was nice and quiet.
Everything was great for the first two nights, but from the morning of the third day onwards, I was never able to get hot water in the room. The sink would never get warm while the shower was at best lukewarm to cold. Before this problem, the water had been quite hot in the room. I asked for assistance at the Front desk. They suggested letting the water run for some time. The clerk told me hot water sometimes takes time due to the location of my room.
After returning to my room, I let it run for 30 minutes without change and then took a miserable shower. I asked for help again, and they said they would send an engineer to look at it. I never heard anything again and never had hot water again.
The following day I let the water run in the shower for 30 minutes, and it still refused to warm up. I tried the sink, and it also didn't work, so I took another unpleasant shower. I complained again when I checked out, and a different desk clerk gave me the identical story that I had to "let it run awhile." For $350 a night, one would expect to be able to take a warm shower. I would also expect them to address a complaint.

Maison de la Luz is the only hotel we will stay at in New Orleans moving forward. It is in a great location and absolutely beautiful inside, with a beautiful, inviting lobby to spend time in while drinking from the Honor Bar or enjoying the wine & cheese happy hour every day. Entering Bar Marilou through the secret entrance was so fun, and the drinks and food were amazing.

They have really thought of everything in the rooms - the radio playing jazz music when we entered the room, the carafes of water, the extra towels underneath the sink and the coffee carafe delivered to your room every day. They don't make up your room unless you leave your tassel at the front desk, so you never have to worry about housekeeping knocking on your door in the morning. Also loved the turndown service and the special treats they left by the bed each night.

The room and hotel were so comfortable, it was hard to leave to explore the city! We will absolutely be back to Maison de la Luz.

Maison de la Luz was absolutely fabulous with the friendliest staff that made you feel like you were visiting old friends. The rooms are large and very comfortable and the bathrooms are beautifully appointed with large showers and soaking tubs. We were in 59 with city views and bright sunny days.

And coffee delivered to your room each morning as we showered was a very touch to start our days. Especially after nights out in New Orleans!

Most highly recommended and thanks to the amazing staff (Giovanni, Sarah, Thomas, Lawrence) that made us feel so welcome. We hope to see you soon!

The 1930s themed design made our stay a unique version of luxury with the highest level of attention to detail. From the moment of arrival my friends and I were thrilled with a sense of adventure that was both restful and daring. Our senses were tantalized with the one of a kind art while we enjoyed our stay our classically elegant room. The staff personalized our experience from wine and cheese to the delicious meal in the breakfast room. It is the ideal hotel experience for anyone looking for a casually elegant adventure in New Orleans!

This was the best hotel we ever stayed in!

The decor is stunning and really feels like New Orleans, everything is well thought through from the room by the reception to the bedrooms!
We probably had the smallest room they offer and it was still sensational with the most special bathroom.
We visited to celebrate my bf birthday and they made everything perfect.
The staff are amazing and relaxed which I personally prefer because it can be really stuffy and pretentious in hotels sometimes (rarely at the Ace though)

The breakfast in the morning is lovely, and the complimentary coffee and wine is also a really nice touch, especially when you can have it in the most beautiful room.

Bar Marilou is also a treat, we went to most of the best bars in the city (cane and table, Bacchanal, jewel of south etc.) and yet the drinks there were the best ones.

Honestly, I can’t think of going back to New Orleans and not staying at Maison de la Luz.

We finally made a long awaited trip to New Orleans and could not have been happier with our choice of Maison de la Luz. This beautiful boutique hotel is situated just outside of the noisy congested French Quarter neighborhood, but on the same street that becomes Bourbon. The neighborhood is quiet, clean and has easy access to transportation (the trolley was right outside the front door). The hotel itself is beautiful. It has an eclectic feel but very refined and full of stunning features. I particularly liked the high quality bathroom finishes...I want those Waterworks faucets for my own home! The staff is also amazing. They had a natural sense of hospitality. They predicted our needs in advance and helped us with restaurant reservations, walking tours, and other suggestions to plan the perfect vacation. FYI - the concierge reached out before our visit to see if there was anything they could provide to make our stay special. In addition our room was large, beautifully decorated, and exceptionally clean. The bed was comfortable and pillows were super soft...a particular favorite for me. The furnishings are unique and have a custom feel unlike other similarly priced hotels.
I would highly recommend the Hotel de la Luz for anyone planning a vacation to New Orleans. We were overly pleased by the staff and accommodations and would definitely stay there again.

Furnishings and décor are nice. Always had to wait for someone to show up at concierge desk, and cleaning of the room wasn’t on par with this class of hotel—didn’t replace toiletries or toilet paper, no face cloths, cups for coffee too hot to handle, wifi constantly going out.

Bar Marilou is really interesting, but frustrating to get reservations and they insist on that. Filled out website form for reservation only to be told to enter zip code, but there’s no field to put that in.

Breakfast room has very limited selections, and felt too sterile.

Nice location as close to the Quarter (15 min walk), but in a quiet area.
