Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI

Hotel Le Marais receives praise for its cleanliness and charming atmosphere, boasting a serene pool and stylish rooms that many travelers appreciate. Its proximity to Bourbon Street positions it ideally for exploring the French Quarter, although some guests report noise issues. The staff's friendliness stands out, though service can sometimes falter. While valued for location and ambiance, the hotel's lack of certain amenities, such as in-room refrigerators and a functioning bar, coupled with occasional extra charges, leaves its value proposition open to scrutiny.

We took a chance staying here for our regular spot was booked out. The location was great. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We got a balcony room and did enjoy it. The hallways were a bit noisy but that can be expected.

Stayed here with a group of friends for a few days and had an excellent stay. Staff was friendly and attentive. Breakfast was standard but good. The heated pool was nice as well. Room was clean and the bed was very comfortable.

Location was great- walking distance to most of the attractions and only a few blocks away from public transportation if needed.

Our room was in the inside so we didn't have the noise issues of others who were staying on the other side of the hall- you can hear the partying from Boubon.

Wonderful hotel in the French Quarter. While most of the area seems dirty and run down, this hotel was actually a bit if a shock to me. Very clean. Totally updated. Nice rooms. We had a large king beg. The bathroom was nice, although the counter by the sink was small. The shower was all tile and very European with half a solid glass wall rather than a moving door. The coffee maker was the only disappointment, but few hotels have a nice coffee maker in the room anymore. There was no refrigerator. We were on the 4th floor facing the street and had no trouble sleeping despite the front desk person saying it can sometimes get loud. Breakfast is served each morning and was a nice buffet that was included with our rate. There was a work out facility, pool, and outdoor area. Employees were all very friendly, especially the women handling the breakfast. This is a great location as we parked the car and didn't use it all weekend. We walked everywhere or took the streetcar. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend.

You can't fault the location of the hotel only a few yards from Bourbon street and slap bang in the middle of the action but not everything was great. When we checked in we were given a hotel room right opposite the lifts. Luckily managed to swap it straight away as the noise was horrendous not just from the lift itself but guests chatting away outside the room door. Make sure you book a quiet room!

The room we swapped to was thankfully quieter but relatively small and dark even during the day. When I went to look out the window to the courtyard the windows had not been cleaned in a very long time! Also caught sight of some scuttling bug in the toilet running away when we turned the light on one night - yuck.

Breakfast is very average and basic and served in the bar area. Only problem is your choice of seating is up on a high bar stool or sat in a really low chair with a table that you can't fit your feet under. Not exactly friendly if you have a disability or lack mobility as I do.

Finally I left my keys behind in the room safe when we left by accident (totally my fault). I filled out the lost property form online which clearly states will be replied to. Nothing. Then I contacted the information email and got a reply from someone called Elbert Pierre saying they would check and never heard another word. Sent another note to say I still hadn't heard anything and no reply at all! Err thanks for nothing. A no sorry we couldn't find them would have been nice.

This hotel was centrally located in heart of the French Quarter but was very quiet and comfortable. The included breakfast was very good and the staff was friendly and helpful. Pierre, Rebecca and Brian at the front desk were great as were the breakfast ladies. We enjoyed our New Year's stay. Extra money for courtyard balcony was not worthwhile, balcony very tiny and not really useful.

Our May 2022 stay at the Hotel Le Marais was a great way to enjoy New Orleans and it’s French Quarter. This small boutique hotel is truly close to the heart of all the Quarter’s famous restaurants, bars, antique shops and historic buildings.

Our top floor (5th) King room faced the courtyard and noise wasn’t a big issue, it was furnished like a mid-range hotel with a small coffee maker (but no fridge), flat screen TV, good AC, good Wifi, good lighting, and very comfortable bed.

All the staff we encountered were friendly. Rooms, fitness room, pool area, coffee bar, and lobby were usually kept clean as best as they could. No free breakfast (but Cafe Beignet with good food and coffee is less than a block down Royal towards Canal).

There are large convention style chain and 5-star hotels up and down gritty and sketchy Canal Street … we thought the intimacy and location of Hotel Le Marais is a much better and less expensive choice.

This hotel is a Gem in the French Quarter. It is located between Bourbon and Royal Street, you can walk just about anywhere from this location. You would think being so close to Bourbon Street it would be noisy but it was not. We went during Mardi Gras and I was concerned about the noise level at night. Did not hear a thing from the outside world. The salt water pool and courtyard area beautiful and quite as well. A great place to escape the craziness of The city. Breakfast has what you need to start your day. Pastries, bagels, bacon, eggs, sausage, pancakes, cream of wheat, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit.

Thank you for being our guests! We feel very lucky to have such a central location, allowing easy access to all the best New Orleans and the French Quarter have to offer, but just a few steps from the beaten path so our guests can rest and relax in comfort. This years Mardi Gras was wonderful here at the hotel, and we're so glad you enjoyed your time with us. Thank for taking the time to leave such an excellent review, we hope to see you back for another visit soon!

Me & my girlfriend spent a week at Hotel Le Marais for our first time in New Orleans & the staff were nothing short of professional & courteous to our needs. The room was small, intimate, & clean. The hotel is smack dab in the French Quarter so if you’re looking to have a good time with restaurants, bars, cafes, etc within walking distance you’re in the perfect location. It’s also important to note that Pierre was very helpful at giving us the info on where to go as far the attractions in the city & accommodated us to his fullest extent with whatever questions we had or what we needed . We will definitely be visiting again after this trip !!!

Do not stay at this hotel! It is nothing like pictured. There is no staff, no one to assist with luggage. The much advertised bar has been closed since 2020 with no plans to reopen. I asked for a room on an upper floor when making reservation only to be told upon arrival that upper 3floors were closed because ‘they didn’t have any pillow cases’! The phone in our room did not work.

The location within the Quarter is good however the noise level in the room is very loud.
The cost of rooms and total lack of amenities is ridiculous.

A bunch of friends and I stayed here a week ago. The hotel was really clean and the staff was awesome. They were always cleaning the lobby and kept it neat. The hotel had a free breakfast which consisted of eggs, grits, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, yogurt, bagels and pasteries, The outside doors get locked after 10 so just not anybody could just walk into the hotel. The hotel is close to almost everything. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for some place to stay in the french quarter.

Yes, it can be if all your charges are on your credit card. If you are referring to a deposit for incidentals that is refundable based upon usage.
