On March 19 I got an email from Vic Palazzo, operations manager of the hotel, offering a refund! Considering the financial penalty the COVID-19 crisis will cost this hotel as well as many others, this seemed an extraordinarily generous example of customer service. Moreover this refund was processed and returned to my card within 48 hours.
We also had dealings on the phone and email with Mike and Jordan, both of whom were helpful and professional.
I really believe this example of honest and fair dealing needs to be included in the hotel's reviews.
We will return to New Orleans when this is all over and there is nowhere else we intend to stay. We look forward to meeting you.
We were just a few blocks from the celebrations. The FRENCH MARKET is a must see.
Enjoy like we did.
One thing to keep in mind is that the building has no elevators, so if you have heavy luggage or are traveling with a person who has difficulty ascending stairs, you may want to plan accordingly. Also if you have a room facing Dauphine street, the noise can be very loud in the middle of the night, which is to be expected during Mardi Gras, so light sleepers might want to pack earplugs or ask for an interior room facing the pool or courtyard.
Overall, Grenoble House was a great hotel to stay at, especially for the price.
Thanks again to Mr. Champagne for holding a box of beads I had shipped to the hotel before I arrived and making sure I received my delivery of throws
