The hotel room I've booked seems quite different from what I saw online. However, they were very accommodating and easy to approach. My big concern is that the vicinity is quite old and somehow a bit outdated. Nevertheless, the entire facility was solemn and restful when we (My Mom, my Aunt, and I) stayed there. The breakfast was sort of good, because they've offered a buffet style dining. But I get a little disappointed when they didn't honor my request for a cup of green tea when we arrived.
The hotel room looked nothing like the pictures we saw online. It was all old, gross and outdated. There was also a strange smell in the entire hotel. The showerhead was leaking all night, and then we saw that there was mould in the bathroom as well. The air conditioning was also leaking water which led to a wet backpack. In the morning we went to the breakfast buffet in the restaurant. There was rice, soup and meat. There were also some baked eggs. The bread was dry but could be toasted. The jam to go with it was an empty jar. When we asked for fruit (we saw other people eating different kinds of fruit), the lady said that they didn't have any fruit. Overall, we were very disappointed and would never consider coming back here.
I walked in here today and wanted a room for 1 night. I ended up paying 2.800 pesos for one night in a deluxe room because they said all regular rooms were full. Now I'm checking TripAdvisor and booking.com and I see they still have regular rooms for 1.300 pesos and deluxe for 1.750 pesos. Last time I ever visit this hotel. It's not really about the money, I just don't like being ripped off.
On the morning off our second and final day at The Orchard Hotel and Suites we went to the restaurant to have our buffet breakfast. We did not really think it was very good on the first day but thought we would give it a second chance on our last morning. It was slightly better as I asked for 2 omelettes to be freshly cooked because everything was stone cold in buffet.Whilst eating I saw out of the corner of my eye a huge RAT !.I could even she where it had eaten through a wooden cabinet, then a few minutes later I saw the nose of another one looking out of hole.I informed waitress who shouted to her male colleague, but he didn't seem to interested. So on this alone I CAN NOT recommend any hotel that has RATS in the restaurant.....you decide...oh and wifi didn't work for first 24hours...…
My husband, our adult son and I spent first 2 nights of our Philippine trip here. Close enough to airport (short grabcar ride away) and a short walk to a mall where there are banks, restaurants and shopping for what you might have forgotten to bring, etc. Hotel pros - clean, inexpensive, private bath with a hot shower, air conn, comfortable beds, breakfast included, friendly, helpful staff who greeted us warmly with hellos, good mornings, etc each time we saw them. Also have a 'security guard' out front who is there 24/7 from what I could tell. He too was friendly and helpful. We had a 2 bed room that was true Western Queen size. The beds were comfortable with appropriate bedding for the climate. Cons - first time for us international travel in developing country and so hotel pics much better than what it actually is, elevator broken so we had to walk up to our 2nd floor room, farther away from the historic sights of Cebu City that we wanted to see but that was no big as a grabcar got us where we needed to go, walking to mall was a bit harrowing for us as there were no real sidwalks per se so you walked on the nonexistent white line. But that's more about the area than the hotel. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly and gave us good advice regarding traveling around the city (get a grabcar) and since we did not have phone service they gladly made all our arrangements and negotiated price for us and made sure we knew what was negotiated before getting into car. The included breakfast was in the Korean buffet on premises. It was good enough and had some new to us breakfast food items. Offered eggs, breakfast meats, lots of fruit, rice and a rotating assortment of Asian foods like kimchee and such. All in all it was a great deal and gave us a good landing spot with 2 nights rest upon entering the Philippines before we set out for other sights and neighboring islands.…
I arrived late in the evening and there was no other guest but me. When I got off from the cab there was a ready concierge who helped me with my luggage. The frontage of the hotel was busy as I think they were prepping Christmas decors. The check in was smooth and my room was in the 3rd floor. The elevator was broken when I was there but my luggage was brought up by the bellboy promptly. The room was big with a comfortable bed and pillows. The bathroom showed signs of being old. It has a bath tub and true to the other reviews - the water pressure is really bad and no heater to speak of. The breakfast is usual but with limited varieties.
This is a horrible place, nothing good about the place, Staff are disgusting and dishonest, I wouldn’t advice anyone to stay there, bad experience. The rooms are neglected and dark, they charge you for their laundry, absolutely disgusting, breakfast is good to feed the pigs. Every staff member is miserable, unfriendly and disrespectful, I wouldn’t advice anyone to stay there. Bad experience.
The front desk attendant's were nice and helpful. So were the maid staff and all employees and all would pass by with a "hello." Something rare in the Philippines where rudeness and being a human obstacle are national pastime's. The only problem was the free breakfast. The buffet was not maintained adequately. Like the scrambled egg's looked like a 3/4 eaten plate a pet had indulged in. So I passed on the breakfast.
Its a good mid-range hotel with nice rooms, when i stayed there in May I got good service from the front desk and got checked in quick, the only problem I can say I had was with the hot water, i had to call the front desk to get it running. The location is great, it a 2-3mins waking distance from a mall and is situated in near the highway in Mandaue
