Stayed here for almost a week. Have to say i had a pleasant experience. The staff were very friendly and easy to talk to. The rooms and facilities were great aswell. Breafast was plated tho since it was a precaution due to the pandemic. The room i stayed at had a bath tub but didnt quite use it much since it was a small tub and i can barely fit in it but the water pressure and temperature control was great. They also have diy laundry for 200 pesos within the hotel facility with dryer so its a bog plus for traveller who pack light. Only donn side I experienced was the noice as walls were thin and i could hear the rumblings from the rooms next door and above me. Check out time is 10am which for me is quite too early but non the less, a great amd relaxing hotel for especially for business travelers

Place is fine, but for the price go somewhere else where they treat you special. Here at Toyoko the staff are friendly and helpful BUT you are treated like a Japanese businessman. Everything is self service.. Even if you have a loads of bags...you have to get your own Cart and put on the elevator yourself!

Also its false advertising to show the pool. The pool is not part of the hotel . it is a nearby attraction that you must pay additionally to use.

But Worst of all .. the posted checkout time is 10:00 AM and you have to pay 500.00 per hour extra. I guess that works in Japan but here in the Philippines the Hotels treat you special and will give you an extra hour or hours depending on their load.

Breakfast is like a tourist class cafeteria OK with salads and such but kind of lame .

Do better by staying at the luxurious hotels that treat you like a guest and not a journeyman. try nearby Bai Hotel for about the same price...much better experience there.

The price of their rooms is very affordable and is recommended for families. The rooms were very clean and were spacious. I like that it has a large fridge and a microwave oven. I like how their bathroom feels like very Japanese since it is a pre-fabricated model and had Japanese technology placed. However, there are many things that Toyoko Inn should look at to improve like their wifi, it's a bit slow. Their elevators have sufficient number for many guests, but the problem is they don't go to the lower ground level entrance which is the major bulk of guests enetring. it usually goes to the 6th most often because it is where there reception is. for example, someone went down to the 6th floor from the 11th floor and the going up button in the LG level is already pressed, the elevator should should've proceeded to go down rather than going up. It is quite a hassle for guests waiting at the lower ground especially if you have many things to bring.

This hotel got booked for us under our tour we purchased! We arrived at 1:30 to be told we can’t check in until 4pm unless we pay 500 peso to check in at 3. When we finally Got to our room which is very small no room for luggage, bathroom is horrible can’t use shower properly, dirty towel left in room. Asked to get two extra pillows to be told we have to pay, we agreed to pay and when I asked to bring them up they told us we had to come down and pay for it and grab them ourselves, not even an option to pay on check out. Just wanted to relax after a long flight to get here, pretty angry at this whole experience and I’ve only been here 3 hours, really don’t even want to stay here now!

We had a late and delayed flight but grateful the van (free airport shuttle) waited for us. The lobby was simple & check-in was easy. Before going up to our room, they asked us to get the amenities we need (dental kits, shaving kits & combs). We stayed at the Twin C Room, it has a big ref, kitchen sink, tv, microwave, dining table & chairs & 2 big beds. The bathroom was like the ones in Japan, compact & small. There were no cabinets too. The beds were comfortable to sleep on & the ac was working well.

Breakfast was served in what was like a cafeteria hall, it was supposed to be plated but it was served buffet style, breakfast menu was simple. It changes everyday.

Location of the hotel is superb & convenient because its connected to J Centre Mall and there were pharmacies, banks, convenience stores & a spa nearby. Happy to have our massage there. The hotel was also beside the Skywater theme park but unfortunately it was indefinitely closed.

Checkout was easy too. They allowed us to leave our luggage because we have a late flight, we just came back for it. We weren’t able to avail of the free shuttle going back to the airport because we weren’t able to book a day before (it’s not automatic even if they have your flight information), good thing we have relatives to bring us to the airport.

Overall, price was reasonable and we had a nice & comfortable stay here.

We had a great stay at this hotel. You are basically connected to the Jcenter mall, which makes for convenient food, etc, and we did not have any issues from the crowds nearby. The breakfast buffet was nice and my wife especially enjoyed. The only drawback was the waits for elevators, but that is to be expected for a hotel this size. I would stay here again.

We travel to Cebu once a year and we have always stayed at Toyoko for couple night, we were very happy and a great place and price.

September 2022
Went back after the pandemic to Cebu and we decided to go back to Toyoko as always.

Wow !!
It’s not even the same place, crapy service with this new management. 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️.
My wife is a member as well , usually get discounts and checkout use to be lunch time.
They called us in in the morning at 9:30 am saying our checkout is at 10am. Really!!!??

Overall it’s not the same as it use to be.
Bad bad service , not even friendly anymore.

How is this hotel going to earn there customers back with the un friendly service and poor management.

ZERO rating

Staff in general, very friendly and helpful. Room, very clean with plenty of facilities + free wifi connection. Breakfast, free buffet style, something for everyone. Lifts, all working properly and very clean. Reception staff really helpful. Handy for the J Centre shopping mall. We enjoyed our short stay immensely. A big thank you to the Toyoko Inn.

We are staying at this hotel for nine days. The rooms are spacious and well equipped and the staff is friendly. The hotel is only one year old and in typical Philippines fashion it is already lacking in maintenance. Elevators that are painfully slow or not working at all. The laundromat has machines that are out of order and unusable. The ones on the 8th floor do not work at all. They claim problems with their maintenance contractors.

The website advertises a waterpark but it is deceptive. The waterpark is not affiliated with the hotel and one day of family usage is 3000 pesos which covers a one night stay. However, there is no discount for hotel guests so in essence you are being forced to pay for a room for which you have already paid. This borders on out and out fraud.

This could be a very nice hotel but the Filipino management is doing a very poor job. Toyoko Inn should be loathe to make further Philippines investments or should consider direct Japanese management.

Hotel was very convenient. It had a mall next door. Room was clean. Breakfast was free. If your a smoker you can smoke on the 6th floor outside next to the eatery. The bar next to eatery had cheaper drinks than outside the pool area. There’s a water park as well. Would book this hotel again.

Update: I am in the hotel for the second time. The check-in took almost half an hour and then the key card didn't work and made me to go down to 6th floor 2 times from 17th and still the key card didn't work. It took half an hour more for them to come and fix the problem and change the door's battery and not even any kind of apology at all. Then later when we needed an extra pillow we called the reception a few times and they didn't even bother answer the call. The reception didn't care even if there was an emergency. I am totally disappointed and take the stars back. In my eyes and to my second experience it is now worth 2 stars only.
