Alpa suites is well located close to the ferry terminal and other main areas of Cebu ie malls. Etc.
Staff is very pleasant and helpful. Rooms a bit smallish but quite comfortable and there is good wifi. Kettle is provided in room for your complimentary tea/ coffee.

Stayed here for 6 night holiday. Location is good for restaurants and shops, other ares of Cebu easily reached by taxi. Good service from friendly staff, especially restaurant staff at breakfast. Breakfast was OK, food was regularly replenished. Choice could have been better. Hotel and room were clean. The shower was poor with not much power so not much water. The towels were old and they did not provide hand towels. The air conditioner was noisy which was a problem at night. It is and average hotel but could be improved.

We only intended to stay here for one night and ended up staying 3. The rooms (including the bathroom) were very spacious, modern and clean. The cafe staff were always smiling and keen to please. In Cebu it is hard to find a place like Alpa at such an affordable price, we were glad to find this hotel.

The nicest thing about ALPA CITY SUITES is that it is travelers friendly: location is near to big malls and staffs are really great and accommodating. I was emailing staff now and then prior to my arrival and replies were prompt and clear. Upon arrival,I was supposed to go on a city tour but it rained so I decided to go somewhere. They called the place, booked me and got me a taxi. They did everything and my time was not wasted at all. I enjoyed so much eating in my room too, as the room service was fast ; the food /drink was gorgeous. The kitchenette is a big bonus! I don’t need to go to other restaurants. The taxi driver-tour guide they assigned me on a city tour the following day, was the biggest catch. Highly knowledgeable, fluent in spoken English, honest, helpful, etc. I got a photographer, bodyguard, and teacher, all in one package at a reasonable price. A rare one to find. Ask for Mr. ALLAN CANTILLAS. Variety of buffet-breakfast menu daily during my 3 day stay. The juicy, fresh and tasty fruit made me feel so healthy! Smiling Staff everywhere! Highly Recommended!

We stayed at the Alpa suites hotel twice within 3 weeks. The rooms were quiet and comfortable, the staff eager to please and the breakfast buffet was excellent.
The hotel is a 5 - 10 drive from the malls etc, but the availability and low cost of taxis make this a minor inconvenience.
Outstanding value for money, the Alpa suites will be my hotel of choice next time I am in Cebu

A short (15 minutes without traffic) and cheap (under 200 pesos) cab ride from Mactan/Cebu international airport.
Spotlessly clean rooms and common areas, attentive and friendly door, front desk and wait staff. Dining room offers local favourites and a buffet breakfast complete with made-to-order omelettes is free.
When one guest asked for ice cream for dessert (not on the menu), the cheerful waiter disappeared out the hotel's front door with a bowl and returned a few minutes later with a huge helping of strawberry ice cream complete with a cherry on top!
Checking out can take a few minutes because the hotel is still printing out long, detailed receipts. But credit cards are accepted and the front desk offers limited currency exchange for Canadian and US dollars, Euros etc.
A great base for day tours that offer hotel pickups. You will feel safe at this hotel. Stayed on 3 occasions in rooms on 9th, 8th and 5th floors.
King bed suite was roomy and included fridge, microwave and sink. Temp controls allowed for any preference. Windows open, too. Good hot water and water pressure in the walk-in shower. In-room safe and good free wi-fi.

I was in this hotel suite last July 2012 for 3 nights with my girlfriend and was very pleased to have chosen this hotel. The staff were excellent and polite. The housekeeping staff were hard workers too. Because of what I saw in the housekeeping staff to work hard, I gave the lady a generous tip for she came to do her job well. The breakfast meal was good as well and the cooks were very friendly too. This was my first trip back to Cebu after being away for nearly 30 years. The hoel itself was located not far from where I grew up in Singson Village, a few kilometers away from the hotel. Overall, I would not mind staying at this hotel again. Kudos to all the staff at Alpa Suites Hotel!

We had an excellent 4-day stay. We were allowed to check in early as our flight arrived into Cebu at 6am. As soon as the first room opened up and was cleaned (it was a king-sized bed), they got us right in. It was very much appreciated after 27 hours of travel from the States. The hotel could use a fresh coat of paint, and the front desk needs updated equipment, but it's very, very clean, and the housekeeping staff is very diligent. The breakfast buffet (free) is outstanding! The menu variety was great, and the amount of food you get for the price is excellent! My wife and I were both highly impressed. The other meals ran about P200-300, and were also great. The rooms are well appointed, but could use a wall or alarm clock. Local tourism brochures would also be greatly appreciated. The 5th floor was quiet. Most areas can be reached by taxi for about P100. A P200 ride from the airport. Would definitely stay here again. TripAdvisor signs posted in elevators!

I spent a week in Alpa and booked it as the reviews were so good. Don't get me wrong there's not that much wrong with the hotel. The price is low, but if they did raise those prices it wouldn't be worth it. In fact they should probably lower their rates after this review.

What was good:
Location to IT Park.
Restaurant food was decent.
Staff is okay.
Easy to get a taxi, but at rush hour difficult to get in and out by car.

What was not good:
Very noisy, heavy traffic and cleaners in the morning making a racket.
Smelly and grey towels! The towels really smelled of noodles or something rather. I even left a note on the table with money so that the maid would give me white and clean towels - to no avail.
Poor shower.
No amenities - there's literally nothing you can do in the hotel and the surrounding area is appalling.

Also the top two floors were closed for renovations.

I will not go to Alpa again. I'd rather spend just a little more so I can have a good night sleep and white and clean towels. See my review of Marco Polo where I stayed after Alpa.

Response from ALPAGM, General Manager at Alpa City Suites
Responded May 26, 2011
Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to write a review about our hotel. The amenities that we offer are indeed lower than the five start hotel that you are referring to but our room rate is only 48% of theirs (USD 60 versus USD 124). 90% of our guests find in our hotel a perfect balance between value and money. Our hotel is located in the middle of the city, only 10 minutes away from SM mall and Ayala mall while the other hotel is much further away from the city and thus less traffic. I will surely look into the problem regarding the towels as it is not our standard. Cleanliness is one of our top priorities as you can also read in all the guest reviews. During your stay we were re-painting the hallways on the 9 th and 10 floor in order to keep our hotel in a perfect condition, those floors were not closed and we only placed a note to apologize for the inconvenience. Sincerely yours,

Don't be fooled with the title. Simple is good for me. I've been to other hotels that have pools as far as the eye can see, lot of restaurants, and have a lot of activities that can be done yet they fall far behind expectations because they are either too expensive, too far away from anywhere, and the service that is provided can be very disappointing (yes it is plantation bay). Alpa was really a big surprise but in a good way. It was very clean and smack dab in the middle of anywhere you really want to go. The rooms are very cheap (I got the most expensive one for 61 bucks and it was quite nice) and are clean. The food selection is a bit better than some of the hotels with the same price range (more international food anyway). The room that I got also had a microwave so it was pretty convenient for someone like me who enjoys to buy food out of the hotel and bring them in the room. The staff was very nice and accommodating. There are taxis right outside of the hotel and the guards always write down the number and company of the taxis and asks where you're going. SM and the other malls are just 5-10 minutes away (depending on how good the taxi driver is and the traffic) which is pretty cool because most of the stuff my girlfriend and I wanted to do anyway was somewhere other than the hotel.

Now here's the bad part. It might be a bit too simple. There is no gym, pool, or garden of some sort. One of the things I really like about hotels is that they bring something unique, yet the only thing I can really say is that its simple. I guess that makes it unique.

Overall, I would stay here again but I really hope that the staff continues to improve the place up. Maybe place a few more things in the hotel like a gym, pool, or even just a souvenir shop.

Taxi in Cebu City is one of the safest and easiest in the country. As you get out of the arrival area, the taxi station is at the right end. You can also arrange for the hotel pick up.
