Despite some guests finding the Hilton Garden Inn Washington DC/Greenbelt's atmosphere to have an old-school charm, others consider it outdated, with worn fixtures. The staff, however, consistently earn praise for their friendly and attentive service. Cleanliness is a noted strong point, with rooms being tidy and smelling fresh.
The hotel's location is popular for its convenience, and while the rooms are spacious, opinions vary on their maintenance and décor. The value proposition receives mixed reviews, with certain aspects like breakfast being points of contention. Amenities are deemed satisfactory, albeit somewhat dated.

Hotel's Favorite
Friendly staff, clean rooms, and good service. I stayed here a total of 3 nights/4 days at this location. I had two nights in Room 505 and then booked an additional night here in room 634.
Rooms were a bit dated but spacious and comfortable. Sturdy and functional furnishings. Rooms had microwave, full size ironing board, minifridge, and direct TV. Slept well all three nights. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Breakfast buffet was OK, only did one.
As a diamond member I travel a lot and I was more than pleased with my stay. I did lose my air pods while traveling so if the hotel finds them in one of the rooms and reads this, send them my way please. I called and spoke to the front desk but this was totally a me thing and not on the hotel. I would absolutely stay here again if out in the Greenbelt or College Park, Maryland area.

I needed to get away. Glad it was Hilton G.I. Friendly staff. Clean facilities. Very accommodating. Met or exceeded my expectations. Front desk staff was awesome. The Breakfast was well worth the price. Oatmeal, French Toast, pancakes, scrambled & spinach and broccoli eggs, sausage links and patties. A variety of bread& pastries, 3 juices, coffee. Served & all you can eat.

At check-in the rate presented did not sound correct but I checked in as we wanted to get to the room. I then returned to the front desk and showed him the confirmation email with the correct rates. I was assured it would be corrected. When I checked out I was not presented a bill. I was told the amount which I again said was incorrect. At that time I was told it was a deposit that would be reversed. When I checked my credit card bill I was invoiced at the incorrect rate. A call to the hotel has hopefully corrected this. Unfortunately this seems to be a pattern that I have experienced at various Hilton hotels where the amount charged is not the confirmed rate. We asked for housekeeping service at check-in and did not receive it. The room was very quiet and the bed was comfortable but it could use some upgrading. There were exposed screw holes in the bathroom wall as if something had fallen off the wall and was not replaced. There was a conference with loud music blaring in the ballroom but this did affect my stay. I am trying to be forgiving of a struggling industry but when you are paying over $250 a night you expect a little more. The continental breakfast was minimal but the staff there were very nice. It did not appear that they were serving hot breakfast.

The hotel was average, and the room felt unsafe. The door that connects the adjoining room looked as if someone had previous tried to break in, it look like it might be coming off the hinge or door jam. left me feeling unsafe. A hotel that cares about its' guests would have fixed them problem.

Toilet floor tiles are broken and wobbly. The room carpets was very worn and stained; very dated. In the early morning hours, we could smell weed fumes in our room probably coming through the vent from next room. Upon check-in, front desk girl didn’t acknowledge the Gold status and didn’t mention anything about food credit or complimentary breakfast that comes with the Hilton Honors until I asked. Upon check-out, the credit didn’t auto applied to the bill and I have to get it fixed. So make sure you ask for a print out of your bill.

Several of the staff were seem to be put out with my request to have the room cleaned and rolled their eyes when I told them I was checking out a day early. Breakfast was buffet style and expensive. I could have stayed at a Hampton for less money and have a free breakfast.

I reserved this hotel almost 3 weeks back with valid confirmation. The reservation was from 10/7 to 10/9. When I reached on 10/7 around 11PM, I was told, hotel was overbooked and there's no room available. No one called me prior that there was no room and I was simply told, look for other hotels. Even I checked in through Hilton app.
I had to call different hotels around midnight to get a room. The hotel didn't take any accountability, neither helped me to find a room in near by hotel.
Such a bad customer service and worst hotel management. Cannot even believe hilton app anymore.

Stayed at this Hilton for 2 straight weeks. Of those 2 weeks my room was cleaned once. Once all towels and washcloths were used, I had to daily go to the front desk to ask for more. Prior to entering room, hair on bathroom floor and around bathroom sink. Shower looked as if it had not been cleaned prior to my arrival. Since my room was only cleaned once, I had to buy soap and shampoo from a local grocery.

I’ve stayed at this Hilton Garden Inn many times. It remains a good stay, but it’s more of a Holiday Inn Express now than it was in the past. Dated, but very clean and has what you want and need. the staff were efficient. There were a lot of families booked this stay and it was quiet and all were well-behaved. Friendly atmosphere. The restaurant and buffet breakfast are no longer worth it in quality and cost, but convenient. So is grub hub. Definitely recommend for a no frills, solid stay in a great location for travelers off the highway, visiting DC or Univ of Maryland, NASA, or the other gov agencies nearby.

Dear Ameb66, We sincerely appreciate your feedback and while we do our best to always deliver a rewarding experience for our guests, occasionally we do fall short and I'm truly sorry you left somewhat unhappy. It is only through feedback such as yours that we are able to maintain and continue improving the level of service that our guests have come to expect from us. Whilst an apology will regrettably not alter the outcome of your experience on this occasion, I do extend it with all sincerity.

Me and my husband spent 2 nights here for his friends 60th birthday, The room was clean and big. It was during COVID and they were doing more than I expected. There is a TGI Fridays about a block away (definitely walk-able), It was nice to be able to eat, drink, and socialize so close to the hotel. My son interns at TCP of Potomac, and if they hire him full time, we will be regulars at this hotel.

The hotel does have a shuttle bus service but I'm not sure if they go to Maryland Stadium. Please contact the hotel directly.
Sorry don’t remember only it was an upper floor
Metro is a 2-3 min ride from the Hilton in Greenbelt. You can go to the Metro website and plan your actual trip and the time it takes to reach your destination. The train system is easy to navigate and trains arrive and depart very close to the posted schedule.
The hotel does offer shuttle service, although we didn't use it.
Dear Alicia D,
Greetings from Greenbelt, MD.
Thank you for allowing me an opportunity to assist you and thank you for considering us for your lodging needs.
To answer your question, we are roughly 8.4 miles from FedEx Field (1600 Fedex Way, Hyattsville, MD 20785) by car.
If you'd be interested in taking the metro, we do provide our guests with a complimentary shuttle service to the Greenbelt Metro station or, the New Carrollton Metro station however, it may take up to an hour (depending on time of day) to get to the Capitol Heights Metro station (closest to the stadium) and then a brisk 15 minutes walk to FedEx Field.
I hope I have answered your questions to your satisfaction. Please do not hesitate to contact me personally at 3014747400 ext:7124 if you need further assistance. I am happy to be at your service!
