When in Brooklyn, this is our "go to" hotel. This was about our fifth stay at the Marriott Brooklyn Bridge. We love our rooms with incredible views of the Empire State Building and Statue of Liberty. The service has always been good and includes a daily $25 credit for breakfast or drinks at the bar. The location is convenient, near to the Brooklyn or Manhattan bridges, walking distance to a subway station and DUMBO. This visit we requested a larger space because my sister was staying with us. I won't do that again. The suite had no view and was a LONG walk around a square from the elevator. The cost is moderate for a New York City hotel.

This is a lower end Marriott. At check in, Titanium status was not recognized nor a good room provided. Had a room facing the roof and inner windows. Was told this was due to an HVAC issue where half the rooms in the hotel were unavailable. The room was tired with stains in the sink, shower and doors peeling (see pictures). Our tv did not function properly for 2 days as we were unable to access streaming services. There is a daily required resort credit for the hotel of $25 that you can use at the bar/lounge. But said lounge is only open from 5-12, and one day it closed early so weren’t even able to properly use. The M Lounge is only open on weekdays for breakfast. Wish I would have known at booking as I prepared to use this area to work. However, the gentleman that worked in the M Lounge was very nice and apologetic about the lack of communication. Will not stay near again, better options in the Brooklyn area.

Response from Hotel Management, Owner at New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge
Responded 2 weeks ago
Dear Kamila, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your stay with us. I greatly appreciate you pointing out areas that need management attention As a titanium Bonvoy member, this is definitely not the stay you have come to expect from Marriott and we apologize for any service failure you received. I hope you will give us another opportunity as we are working through some of your concerns and ensure a true Brooklyn Marriott experience.

Good location but disappointing stay. For the price (it came out to $384/night including taxes for a basic King room), I expected a nice, clean room. Unfortunately, I found multiple towels and surface areas with bunches of someone else’s hair throughout my stay. My floor (7th floor) also reeked of cigarette smoke (unclear if this property allows smoking but if so that was not communicated upon check-in). There was also no real place to store things in the room — there were no dresser or drawers, but instead, there was just a small closet with a few hangers. The walls are paper thin, too, so I could hear everything going on in the hallway, but I can overlook that. I was primarily disappointed with the lack of cleanliness and overall extremely minimalist design of the room especially considering it was not a “cheap” stay. It certainly felt more on par with a stay at a Holiday Inn. Lastly, it seemed like kind of a rip off that Marriott charged a ~$20/day “resort fee” that goes towards food or beverage at the “lobby restaurant” that must be used per day or else you lose the credit. I honestly never had the opportunity to use this credit. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to my friends or colleagues.

I am a Marriott Bonvoy Elite customer. My family stayed at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge on November 10th and 11th, 2022 and it was a thoroughly unpleasant experience. Worse, the unpleasantness is apparently intentional on the part of Marriott. We were in room 6006 in the South Building of the hotel. The hotel room had no bureau. We had nothing to unpack our suitcases into. The room had one desk chair and no comfortable chair to sit in. The room had no table to sit at. The night table between the beds had no drawer in it, so I emptied my pockets on the one shelf that supported the TV. (The Bible and Book of Mormon were on the floor.) There was no radio, just a cheap alarm. The temperature in the room was in the mid-60s, but the heat could not be turned on at all. The air conditioning unit was blowing cold air into the room until I turned everything off completely. There was no spare roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. We wanted to call the front desk to ask about our accommodations, but there was no obvious way to call the front desk from the telephone in the room. We were reduced to calling the hotel from outside, on a mobile phone. When we asked about this at the Bonvoy Elite desk, we were told that the hotel had been renovated in a "minimalist" style, and the bureaus and side chairs had been removed. The heat is not permitted to be turned on unless the temperature outside is "cold." I gather 61F is not cold enough to qualify. This cost us more than $600 a night. And this was considered a "free upgrade" to my original reservation. It wasn't minimalist; it was just cheap. The last Holiday Inn I stayed in provided a better room for a quarter the price. My wife and I were unhappy with our experience and I wrote to Marriott to express our displeasure. The corporate office referred the complaint to the local management of the hotel. Their reply was a brush-off. Essentially it said, "You didn't like the room? Sorry about that." They offered no compensation for the bad service. I have stayed at other Marriotts and been quite satisfied. The Brooklyn Bridge hotel is a very bad example and we surely will never stay there again.

It’s a great hotel but what makes it stand out is the great staff. Particularly Beverly ! She went out of her way to help me with a couple of needs and had a smile on her face the whole time. She actually gave me her own glasses cleaner. The other staff was always helpful too when dealing with a package that was shipped.

Leslie and the team at the bar were wonderful; professional, courteous, efficient. Leslie dealt with some unfriendly and “entitled “ guests but was consistent in her level of service. Thanks for a great experience, Leslie!

Solid hotel in the middle of Brooklyn. The rooms are large, especially considering the location in DUMBO. The hotel is nice and well maintained. The daily charge for food, dry cleaning, etc. is a little off-putting, especially for quick stays.

I had a lovely experience at this Marriott. Everyone who worked there were both friendly and professional. I do have to single out 2 lovely ladies: Beverly at the front desk, who took her time to answer all questions and was also very accommodating. She encouraged and signed me up for the Marriott Loyalty Program. Agnes, was also Lovely, it amazes me that both these ladies really took the time to know their guests, by day 2, they not only remembered my name, but also the room number. They do really give you such a warm welcome. The hotel, itself was clean, and overall very user friendly. I used their fully-equipped gym everyday. It would be nice if the bar area, was open more often during the day.

We have stayed at this hotel a few times to visit our son in Brooklyn Heights. It’s clean and convenient. However, the most recent visit was extra special, because we met Candace when we checked in. The staff is always really pleasant, but Candace was the best first impression we’ve experienced at a hotel ever. She was smiling when she greeted us, she answered all of our questioned, and she left us smiling and excited for the day. She’s a winner!
