The New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge has earned praise for its prime location and the spaciousness of its rooms, with quietness often noted as a plus. However, opinions on value are less favorable, with guests highlighting the steep prices and additional fees, feeling these undermine the hotel's offerings. Service quality appears inconsistent; while some guests commend the friendly staff, others report frustration with less attentive service.
The atmosphere is marred by outdated decor and maintenance concerns, although the comfortable beds receive positive mentions. Amenities receive mixed reviews, with some dissatisfaction over the absence of certain expected features.

Detailed Reviews
After five days in this hotel, there were bad and good things to say.
Bad:
1. Keycard door unlocking mechanism failed soon after arrival. Since we could not go out to eat since our coats were in the room and it took time to repair the lock, the hotel gave us a $50 credit which we used to eat dinner at the in-house Great Room Restaurant and Bar.
2. We had to switch rooms after the second night due to truly excessive noise well after midnight from a neighboring room. We called the front desk who then called the neighbors requesting they quiet down and again called the front desk asking security be sent when the noise continued. Neither approach worked. Our request for a new room was quickly granted and there were no further noise issues. Hint: avoid shareable rooms as the door reduces soundproofing.
Good:
1. The staff we encounter (front desk, housekeeping, restaurant, security) were uniformly friendly, polite and helpful.
2. The Great Room Restaurant and Bar hamburger was surprisingly good and it and the fries were cooked accurately (medium rare and crispy respectively).
3. The $25 daily hotel credit on our Expedia reservation was sufficient for my wife and I to daily have a light breakfast (coffee and roll for me, coffee and fruit/granola parfait for her) at the in-house Brooklyn Pantry.
Conclusions:
There were issues but the hotel handled them well.

We recently stayed at the hotel to attend a wedding. From the beginning we warmly greeted by attendants at street level willing to assist with luggage and parking. Check-in was efficient and quick. Room was easy to find, nicely furnished suite, noise was minimal. The hotel bar was fun and great signature cocktails as well as great draft bears and menu. The ballroom where we had brunch the day after the wedding was beautifully set and the breakfast choices covered every picky eater. The location is spot on, a quick walk to the bridge, quick walk to stores (Macy's) and wonderful eateries.

As travelers from the west coast landing in NY at 6am, the Marriott has always had a room available by 8am so we could shower and nap before starting our day.
And for years we always start our day with breakfast in the M-Club where Leonard works who is just a super friendly and delightful guy. Always remembers us and shares stories about his growing family.

If management just fired all the people who work here, the hotel would actually be really nice. The location is fantastic - right downtown, within walking distance to restaurants, delis, gym, etc. The rooms are much more spacious than anything I'd stayed in in Manhattan.
But holy moly, the administration couldn't be more incompetent. After a long day of travel, I checked in and wanted to take a shower, only to find hair all over the bathtub and sink and floor so it was obvious the room hadn't been cleaned. So instead of moving me to a new room, they sent up housekeeping - at 10pm - to clean the bathtub in front of me, while I was trying to eat dinner and take a work call. Talk about awkward and disruptive. Then, they offered a measly set of points or $50 to compensate (mind you, the going rate for a hotel room is around $670-700/night. The whole thing felt like a poorly scripted dramedy, leaving me wondering if anyone at this property actually values their guests' experience.
For the price, you’d expect top-notch service. Instead, you’ll likely leave with a lot of frustration and a story to tell. Avoid.

Rooms, beds and cleanliness are very good. Service was already over by 10:00 a.m. It was annoying that WiFi was only available for an additional charge of $15 per day. That is really stone age or a rip-off. We solved this by getting a Marriott membership, for which we used the WiFi in the train station. The bar area is usually overcrowded. Breakfast is served at a self-service counter with single dishes. Coffee is in a paper cup, whether you sit down or not. But we experienced the practice of using paper dishes everywhere.
The location of the hotel is very good for visiting hip Brooklyn and Williamsburg

Very underwhelming experience staying here on a weekend. The front desk people were not very friendly and were less than helpful at check in. The room was okay but lighting was not good and several bulbs were burned out. Although I have lifetime Platinum Elite status, it was totally worthless here. Firstly the MClub is closed on weekends until Sunday evening. Secondly no places in the hotel are open for the breakfast that is supposed to be provided to those with Platinum or Titanium status so we were given a $30 voucher that could only be spent at a “grab & go” set up at the bar. To add insult to injury, the mandatory “Resort Fee” yielded us an additional $30 food voucher that was only spendable at the same substandard “grab & go” set up.
Next time we go to Brooklyn, we will stay certainly stay someplace else.

Mostly a positive stay, however not entirely. Really good location in Brooklyn, close to subway and easy access to airports and main highways. The staff were uniformly pleasant and helpful and knowledgeable and at check-in my Bonvoy status was acknowledged and appreciated. The room was large and well appointed, surprisingly so for NYC. The parking garage is a little expensive at $60/day but the elevator takes you right upstairs to the lobby, a real plus. A major disappointment was with the “attempt” to use the $25 food and beverage credit. Neither their restaurant nor the M club for Elite Bonvoy members are open on weekends and there were long lines of people waiting at the “Pantry” to get a limited selection of coffee, pastries, yogurt, etc. There was one unfortunate employee having to be a cashier, barista, bagel-toaster, you name it; three employees should have been the minimum for the number of people waiting for service. Common areas for people to sit and eat after they get their food are not cleaned to any degree. When I complained about this to the front desk, their suggestion was to maybe “go to the Panera down the street!!!!!” Frankly, there were a lot of things I liked about this Marriott but I can’t recommend staying here for the price - better value at the Hampton Inn where they understand that cleanliness, coffee and breakfast are important to travelers.

Because of the pandemic, I have not been able to travel to the New York City area for 3 years. We've enjoyed staying here in the past for several reasons. The rooms are much larger than in Manhattan, it's easy to get to Manhattan from here via subway, the surrounding area around the hotel is charming to walk around, and the amenities provided to me as a platinum Marriott Bonvoy member have made this my choice hotel in the area.
However, things have changed a bit since my last stay. I have always appreciated the Club Lounge in this hotel in the past, which provided us a very good breakfast, along with access to non-alcoholic cold drinks, a filtered water station, coffee, a do it yourself espresso machine at other times of the day, and computer stations that you could use to print documents. In the late afternoons on weekdays, the lounge provided an honor bar and hors d'oeuvres. Now, the lounge is only open until 10 am for breakfast on weekdays, and not at all on weekends. I understand that I would receive extra Marriott points for this, but again, I'd rather have had the lounge amenities over this.
I've also not been happy about the terms of the daily "resort fee" the hotel charges. There's a $25 extra charge per day, but you are given a daily $20 dry cleaning credit, along with a $25 food and beverage credit to be used in their pantry or bar, and a single $15 credit to be used with Lyft. The daily credits have to be used per day, and cannot be carried forward to the remaining days of your stay. The pantry is only open until 1 pm, and if you aren't a drinker, the food/drink credit is worthless afterwards. As for the dry cleaning services, unless you get your order in early enough, you won't get same day cleaning for what you want laundered. And while the order sheet in your room says the service is available 6 days a week, I actually did have something I wanted laundered on Saturday, and was told there was no weekend laundry service available. That kind of moots the benefit.
Here's hoping the hotel changes things a little going forward.

How sad to let such a place deteriorate without doing anything.
We feel a lack of care, the carpets in the corridors are stained, the cleaning, including in the rooms, is not up to standard, some of the furniture is very damaged, sometimes broken.
It’s all the more a shame as the common areas are magnificent, as was our room with a breathtaking view.
The breakfast is just up to par, really the minimum required…
The reception staff are just friendly (when there is someone….)
The location is convenient, close to the metro, and guarded parking is available (paid)

The primary problem with our stay was that our room was the lack of housekeeping services for two of the four nights we stayed here. The first time this happened, we were put all day and returned - no housekeeping. We asked at the front desk and letter that night, we had fresh towels and emptied trash! The next day the room. Was attended to appropriately. The third night, we were out for the day and came back and again, our room had been neglected by housekeeping. I again asked the front desk and requested housekeeping. We Reurned after 10 pm and still no housekeeping service. I called the front desk and was informed that housekeeping was gone for the day (I did not expect them At this point). Extremely disappointed at the service in this overpriced hotel. If you don’t want to have go out of your way to get fresh towels and your waste baskets emptied, I would suggest taking the $250-$350 a night elsewhere.
