We took a twenty minute ($30.00) ride by taxi from JFK. Once you turn onto Wyckoff, you begin to have second thoughts. Graffiti abounds everywhere. Directly across the street from the motel is a burnt out building. You might ask why did they build a new motel in the middle of a low income Brooklyn neighborhood. Location,Location.Location!!! There is a subway station directly across and to the left of the motel. It is about 20-30 minute trip into Manhattan depending on where you're going. At days end you arrive right back at the motel. There are two food marts next to the motel if you want a snack at night. Fast food(Mcdonalds,KFC) is about a ten minute walk if you can mentally get past the intimidating nature of the area. Suprisingly at night it is quiet. When you check in at the desk the sign says we have guest parking but the next line in parantheses says "at your own risk" The gentlemen who run the place are friendly, but speak little english. Don't bother asking anything about the city. The building is only seven months old and has two floors. We had requested two double beds, non smoking and thats what we got. The room was small but very clean and no cigarette smell. We had a TV with remote. The bathroom was clean and the shower water came out strong. Beds were comfortable and sheets and pillowcases clean. The service however was hardly first class. The guy who services the rooms could take some lessons in customer service 101. He was gruff and rarely smiled. When asking for extra towels, you would have thought you insulted his mother. "Here, want ten dollar tip for that". Although we received new towels, toilet paper and had the trash emptied, our beds weren't made for three days. Finally on day four we got fresh sheets. They do offer a free continental breakfast consisting of donuts, bagels, coffee tea and milk. And its pretty good. Bottom line: For $130.00/night its a bargain. You'll pay at least double staying in the city and unless you're staying at a four star hotel theres no guarantee you'll get a clean room. Would you rather be pampered or save $100.00 a night. Believe me, save your money for seeing the sights, shopping and eating good food. The money goes fast in this town.

It is false advertisement to advertise satellite cable when only like 7 channels come in. I had difficulty connecting to their wi fi server as well. Staff are VERY rude and inconsiderate!!! My job recruiter was assured extended stay was fine for me and my children but we were kicked out after a wk and told "extended stays are not granted." Well learn some flippin English then maybe the place won't be ran so poorly or have such a lack of communication. Last min I had to find another place to stay so the kids and I weren't walking the cold sts. As I was researching where else to go I was yelled at that we were there past check out time. Apparently nobody cared if 2 toddlers were on the street. Finally was able to get a cab to another place and was offered no help in packing it up.

I stayed at this hotel because I need to to find a hotel near the subway and it was cheap. I did not find anything on the reviews that really stuck out. However sometimes it is never just one thing but a collection bad items that make the whole experience like a bad memory.
First thing is the hotel does not have a computerised system, which is why they could not find my reservation in their pile of papers. Finally I show him my reservation and they gave me a room. When I got to the room I realised what a mistake I had made. The room completely out dated and the sheets and bed covers looked worn and faded from the sun. However hotel bathroom had looked like it had been refurbished. The hotel had a very seedy look and the management do not seem to care about the appearance of it.
The only saving grace for this hotel was the subway was right outside the hotel. The L line takes you right into Manhattan in about 20 minutes.

Location is very convenient for access to the subway - just steps away from the door step. Overall the facility is very nice. The bathroom, sheets and room were clean, however I requested non-smoking and the room obviously wreaked smoke. There wasn't an alarm clock, nor remote for the TV - perhaps these were slightly overlooked and I never called to find out if was an oversight. My stay was enjoyable, served it's purpose and I would stay here again.

Although the room was clean, the guy at the front desk spoke almost no english, and the hotel is in one of the WORST neighborhoods in New York. Taxis will NOT pick you up in this neighborhood. Police regularly patrol the subway because of so many muggings too. Don't even THINK about staying here. I couldn't check out fast enough!!!

The Red Carpet Inn exceeded my expectations; I found a discounted rate on a website, 99$ for the night, for a room with one king size bed. I was on a strict budget, and I did not want to share a bathroom, so this was the cheapest room I could find. It is conviniently located next to the L train, and for those of you who have a car, there is a parking lot in the back of the hotel. There is a convinience store and gas station across the street, with an ATM. I found the hotel to be clean and tidy. I was very surprised when I entered my room; the bathroom was very clean, no mold or anything of the sort on tiles, sink or tub. The TV had some decent channels. The bed was comfortable, and I had a good night's sleep. I can recommend room #127. If you have a limited budget, and want something clean and comfortable, and you don't mind being a train ride away from Manhattan, this is the place for you.

I had booked this place because I wanted to stay overnight in Brooklyn during the holidays season, and this was the cheapest place (by far). After reading the reviews, I had prepared for the worst.

But then I was pleasantly surprised. Of course, this is no luxury hotel, and there is not much to speak of in terms of friendliness (but it wasn't terrible service --- I had a few requests which they attended to in an efficient manner). Also, the expectations for the breakfast should be managed (but at least it's something, right?).

But, the room was perfectly clean and comfortable and, more importantly, the hotel is RIGHT next to the subway. As in less than 1 minute walk away. And it's a pretty convenient line as well, you can get to Williamsburg or Union Square quite quickly.

The neighbourhood itself is rather dodgy and there are not many eateries available.

Overall however, this hotel was perfectly fine for the price, you just need to manage your expectations.

I think this hotel should charge not more than $25 a night. There were lots of bugs and the room had a very bad smell. The elevator needs a check up. I don't think this hotel is safe. The bed was broken. I first thought it was a prank. The room had two broken televisions. The phone plug was broken. So if there was a problem I couldn't call 911 or front desk. My husband and I couldn't sleep. I wanted to sleep in the car cause I new our car has more comfort. I don't understand why they charge so much and the name "Red Carpet" is misleading. I don't understand why companies such as tripadvisor, booking.com, hotel.com and trivago are working with a hotel like this. I believe they don't even deserve one star. At least I know now when a hotel is on those websites it doesn't mean it's a decent hotel.

DO NOT STAY HERE.

I am a musician. I stay in hotels more than I stay at home. I have stayed in hotels all over the world. After a shift in plans we had to book late and this was our last resort.

The staff are awful, they spent the majority of the night shuffling half awake girls in and out of the rooms 'by the hour' for the strange men that came and went throughout the night.

The entire place smelt of cigarettes and weed. The fire alarms had all been ripped from the ceiling. Blood stains on the carpet and beds. The furniture in the room covered in scrapes and 'tags'.

The door in my room had several different pieces of graffiti on it. Cigarette burns in the bedding and mattress. Cigarette butts on the floor of the room.

The staff were awful, ignored our complaints, hid behind their bullet proof glass and refused to acknowledge our complaints.

Do not stay here. There is no reason to ever stay here. It is disgraceful.

We stayed at the Red Carpet Inn located in Brooklyn, New York 06/16-06/19 and was very impressed. The staff was very professional and helpful and the motel was very clean and tidy. We just thought before that it's Brooklyn, NY therefore it's not going to be any good - but to our surprise it was quite the opposite. We will definitely be using that motel on our next trip to New York. Thanks Red Carpet for a wonderful, peaceful weekend.
