Detailed Reviews
Though "suites" is a stretch (floor space is pretty small), the 10' high ceilings make it feel spacious. And the kitchenette is the best I've seen in a hotel, complete with full sized stainless steel fridge, sink, microwave, coffee maker, real plates, glasses and silverware, and dishwasher! I've never seen a dishwasher in a hotel or extended stay place before. And there's lots of other stainless steel and frosted glass in keeping with the clean modern decor. I think Alyssa was the front desk attendant who checked us in, she was friendly and very helpful.
Theirs is one of the best free hotel breakfasts I've had, with two kinds of eggs, veggie sausage, waffle maker, and the nice touches of walnuts and almonds for oatmeal and packets of Sriracha sauce. And the dining/lounge area is lovely.
The neighborhood is rapidly gentrifying, so there's graffiti (some of which is kind of pretty, see photo) and rusted metal storefronts with a few modern buildings sprinkled in, and a Whole Foods with EV charging a short 0.5 km walk away. It's right by the Gowanus Canal with a pleasant walking path, though it's not the most attractive canal. It's also a short walk from the restaurant district on 5th Ave in beautiful Park Slope with any kind of ethnic food you could want, and 1.2 km from Grand Army Plaza and Prospect Park. And it's 100m from a subway stop (N,R,W), and very close to the BQE (I-278). A great location.
One small issue: a car alarm in the back hotel parking lot went off about a dozen times between 10 PM and 6 AM, waking us up many times, it's not clear what the hotel could have done about it because you'd have to walk around the block to see which car it is and notify the owner. The alarm clock also went off at 6 AM on a Sunday morning - shutting that off should be on the room cleaning checklist.
In general a great place, I could see myself being happy here for another quick stay or even 2-4 weeks.

Recently we stayed at TownePlace Suites Hotel. The location was perfect to visit our son in Park Slope. The room was nice, with full kitchen (well, minus gas stove) big refrigerator. The modern bathroom with excellent water pressure in the shower (body wash, shampoo & conditioner provided on the wall). Complimentary breakfast can have more selections. One complain - the bold coffee was watery, no taste. But across on 4th Ave there is a Starbucks for a real coffee fix. The rooms are cleaned every 3 days, but we requested to do it every 2 days and we were fully satisfied with the services. There is a small gym with treadmills, steppers and some dumbbells and kettlebells. The laundry is across from gym - 3 new front load washer ($4.00 per wash) and 3 dryers ($2.00 per cycle). Green Ivy bodega on the corner is open 24 hours, fruits, water, etc. Finback Brooklyn brewery is next to the hotel on President highly recommended. Fifth Avenue in Park Slope is one block and it's full of stores and restaurants. Try Brooklyn Burgers & Beer for burgers, Brooklyn DOP for pizza by the slice or 5th Avenue market & deli for a sandwiches. The Union subway station just around the corner , 2 minutes walk , it will take you to Manhattan. Another option to use is a new company called REVEL with Tesla Y models for a ride to Manhattan or JFK or EWR. We will be back and the main reason is front desk employees. Alyssa, Adjoa (she is going by "Joy"), Daniel and Robert did provide outstanding service for us with all the requests coming from us. We are really pleased with the hotel and it will be our home away from home from now on when in Brooklyn.

We booked several rooms at this hotel for family and friends coming to our daughter's wedding in April 2022. The GM, Maurice Alfaro went all out to ensure that everyone was comfortable, and well taken care of. He called me during the week prior to the event, to see if there were any special needs guests he should be aware of. I really appreciated that, as we had many seniors in our group. He arranged to distribute our welcome packages to our guests (no charge, unlike the Adam street Marriott, where not only did they charge us, but didn't deliver packages to several guests)
Maurice asked if we wanted to host a welcome dinner in their downstairs lounge, and after some thought, we decided to host a Goodbye brunch the day after the wedding, where guests could stop by, grab a bite, and say goodbye. Maurice was present for the brunch, and kept asking if there was any way his team could help. They provided paper goods, and coffee. Which really helped us out.
The rooms were clean, spacious, staff was friendly. Maurice was very helpful, and took my calls whenever I had a question. One of our friends was taking a red eye, and requested an early check in. Maurice personally got on the email, to ensure they would have early check in.
It was all these personal touches (during a stressful time - ensuring that all guests were well taken care of) that caused me to write this review.
I wish more of our guests had booked at the Towneplace suites. The main Marriott on Adam street was awful. I do not recommend it AT ALL. No managers to be found.
The only time i heard from the assigned manager, was when it was time to pay for something. The coach company that was at the top of their list completely bombed. The only thing the hotel had to do was hand out the gift bags to incoming guests. They totally messed that up. Some guests flat out didn't receive bags, even as they watched others receiving them. Leaving them to think that maybe they ere not on the welcome bag list. I only found out about this from a close framily member, who knew I had arranged for the bags, and repeatedly asked the front desk for hers, and each time they told her she was not on the list. Instead of asking their manager to recheck the list (she was on it), they told my framily member to ask me (the mother of the bride) to authorize them. At that point she gave up, as obviously she didn't want to bother me.
A couple of guests told me that their rooms were not cleaned, and they were told by housekeeping that since they were checking out the next day, their room would not be cleaned the day before (?????!!!!)
Moral of the story, stay at the Towneplace suites on President Street, if you want clean rooms and personalized service.

I stayed at this hotel Oct 21-24, 2021 to attend a wedding at 501 Union (which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel) and was made to feel welcome from the moment I walked in until I left for the airport. The hotel is brand new and my suite had a kitchenette with full-size refrigerator, microwave, coffee-maker (single cup), plates and utensils. The included breakfast is hearty and had 2 kinds of eggs, sausage, fruit, yogurt, waffles, oatmeal (with toppings), breads, muffins, juice, etc. The dining room staff kept everything clean and sanitized. The area is very walkable and safe. Thank you to my new friends at the front desk!

I originally wasn’t going to provide feedback but after my checkin experience I feel the need to inform Marriott considering how much I’ve traveled and chose to stay in a Marriott chain hotel.
I checked in via the app and requested early checkin. When I landed I never received word if the room was ready so I messaged through the Marriott app on my phone. The rep stated they would reach out via phone to inform me when the room is ready. I never received a call. Therefore I called the hotel and a gentleman picked up. He asked for my full name and proceeded to leave me on hold for about 5 minutes with no follow up. I hung up and called back. A lady picked up and stated she both called and messaged me. I told her I didn’t receive either & that a gentleman left me on hold for 5 min. She commented in a passive aggressive manner “Well, I guess I’m sorry”.
During check in at the front desk there was a lady by the name Adjoa. She clearly had an attitude from beginning to end of the checkin process. I have a feeling it was her on the phone when I called back a second time. Another gentleman who appeared to work there arrived towards the end of the checkin process but didn’t say anything. Every opportunity she had she came off inappropriate:
1. She requested my ID & I handed it to her in her hand. She returned it by sliding it on the counter back to me. Typically, you hand back in the manner you received it. Same applies to currency.
2. She asked me if I’m here on business and pleasure and I asked her why is that important. She rolled her eyes and commented my company is listed so I responded to put whatever.
3. She provided my room keys and slide them to me without making eye contact and commented “make a left” of the elevator.
4. In every Marriott I’ve checked in before; the reps have most definitely been pleasant and even Thanked me as a customer and my loyalty. Adjoa didnt nor could careless.
I’ve stayed at this hotel a few times now and don’t recall seeing her. I’ve definitely spent enough money in Marriott in general and at this location with the elevated rates. Im not exactly sure what was wrong with your representative but there is a definite opportunity for customer service skills training. Her approach is a perfect example of how not to treat your customers.
After reaching out to Corp Marriott, they responded the local mgmt team would reach out. I’m still waiting…

It was a Friday night and our family arrived in Brooklyn after a three day road trip to find our nearby Airbnb reservation did not meet our expectations. We scrambled to find alternate accommodations. Towneplace Suites in Brooklyn accepted our dog and had a room available on short notice. Yes, the room was overpriced at over $400, but we were exhausted and needed a place to regroup. Upon arrival we were greeted by smiling, helpful staff who went above and beyond to make us comfortable. One front desk agent even walked out to our car with us then stood in an empty parking spot on the street holding it for us while we moved our car. That saved us $40 in parking fees. All hotel staff seemed to be genuinely happy in their work and the recently built hotel was clean and comfortable. The neighborhood is not tidy or quiet, but that likely comes with the location.

Hotel staff very helpful and friendly. There is no parking garage. Only 6 PARKING PLACES the hotel pillars and several on the pavement near the hotel walls. Room very basic and simply furnished. No extra amenities. Street very dirty and saw dead rats in front of the hotel. Breakfast disappointing. Packaged items under-cooked oatmeal cold hot water, breakfast area stuff slow in keeping available items. Disappointing experience

Dear DCtraveller41, thank you for taking the time to provide us with valuable feedback. Unfortunately, we encountered limited parking challenges like in the most significant city. We are one city block from the subway line to assist you in navigating around the city. We are working with the city to help us keep the street clean. We are in the process of implementing and rolling out a fresh new breakfast offering. Once again, thank you!!

We stayed at this hotel because it is near our daughter's apartment in Park Slope. Nice, new hotel. Very clean, friendly front desk and cleaning staff. Good breakfast. Our major complaint was that the sliding door to the bathroom has a 1-2" gag when closed, so you can see right into the bathroom when someone is showering. I've seen these doors before in other NY hotels. The hotel needs to add a metal trim strip, so when the sliding door closes, there is no gap, and the bathroom user has privacy.

This place is fantastic. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. They all welcome visitors with a smile and a friendly word, despite being treated poorly by some guests (I’m looking at you, elderly man with 2 dogs)
The rooms are clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The cleaning staff are friendly and helpful, especially when you need towels and other items. It was surprisingly quiet with the exception of people who can be inconsiderate and have loud conversations in the hallway.
Parking can be tricky. It’s close to the subway and shops and restaurants. Park Slope has a lot to offer.

Dear Marriott: You have a 5 star exemplary employee at the front desk named Daniel. He is phenomenal, so friendly, efficient, nice and helpful.
Thanks for all your help and assisting me to safely get my Mom into a waiting uber.
All of the staff at this hotel really made us feel welcome, everyone has a smile and a pleasant greeting and asks to see if the guests need anything. The evening front desk employees were extremely nice as well and it was fun to chat with them when we came in.
Our room was very clean and has microwave, refrigerator etc. The shower had wonderful pressure, beds very comfortable and the room was quiet. I did not hear any noise from outside or from the hall.
Next time I am in NYC/Manhattan I will be staying here as its worth the short travel time via subway/uber and I much prefer this hotel over any in Manhattan.
The location is fantastic so close to many highly rated restaurants and interesting shops
