CODA Williamsburg boasts a stylish and vibrant atmosphere that charms guests, although some have noted a bit of wear and tear. While travelers commend the hotel for its cleanliness and the professional staff, the rooms are sometimes criticized for lacking amenities and requiring attention. Despite the praise for the pristine pool and gym, the hotel's value for money is questioned due to overpricing and missing conveniences like fridges. However, its tranquil yet ideal location earns accolades for being close to various attractions, offering a restful stay.

Coda's top pro is its location - we enjoyed a week exploring the best of Williamsburg and it is surrounded by brilliant bars, restaurants, cafes and green spaces. It is also close to the subway, so accessing other parts of the city was easy. We took trains into Manhattan and up into Queens too.

On the first few days, service was excellent and welcoming. However, on our last few days we found it to be really disappointing. Reception staff suddenly made us feel like we were hassling them simply for asking simple questions.

The king room with a balcony was brilliant and perfectly suited us for an extended stay. The size was fine for NY and the balcony had a great view overlooking the park, which we loved for people watching. Minor points for the room would be that more hangers in the wardrobe would be good, as would a bin other than the small one in the bathroom. Also when we arrived we had only been given one towel!

The bar in the hotel is nice and not massively overpriced when compared to similar locations in the area. We also appreciated the small shop downstairs, free coffee and free water.

Ultimately despite the disappointing elements of the service, we really enjoyed staying at Coda because of its brilliant location. Thanks especially to Toni for her help during our stay.

A great staycation with my friend— particularly loved hanging out and relaxing poolside. Agusto was very attentive to us, making sure we had everything we needed.. food, drinks & towels before we could even ask for them. We will be back soon before it gets chilly out!

This most recent time I stayed at coda was for a writing power session. I live in nyc but sometimes you need to go somewhere the dishes and laundry won’t stare at you…waiting…watching…
So I go to coda!
But that’s not the only time I go. I also go all summer to sit by the pool and work. Have you ever done that? It’s glorious! If you’re burning out you just jump in the pool and re-energize! It’s magic (it’s science). Coda is my fav place to do it!
The vibe is chill. Franco, Augusto, and the other staff are welcoming and helpful. They’re not snobby or elitist (which is, shockingly, a thing in nyc, I mean you wouldn’t think so, but can you believe it?? lol).
They have great spaces to work, the rooms are spacious, and the location is stellar in general. They’re off the Bedford stop, which is one stop from the city, but also it’s on the L train which connects to every major train line in the city- so you can really get around.
Also, they’re next to nature! So you can see brooklynites in their most natural habitat- a park!

I booked a 6 night stay via booking.com, arriving on 10/10. The room rate that I paid apparently included breakfast. On the second morning, a member of staff hadn't turned up and so I was advised to go out and that the breakfast charges would be credited back. The following morning although the open sided roof terrace bar was open where breakfast was currently being served, it was very cold- 8C/46F outside and same within, we just couldn't sit in there. Even the person on duty was wearing a coat and sitting in the corner out of the way. He suggested we could eat it in our room but sitting on the bed.....really? I think that it is reasonable to have a certain expectation of what we should get whilst staying and these kind of compromises are not what we should need to make. We ate out and was told by the 'director of rooms' that we would be credited for all the breakfasts, not a problem. Clearly it is a problem, as 5 weeks later have not been refunded. We had to pay a $250 deposit charged to CC at check in and told it would be refunded after check out- this I waited 30 days to get back, never ever experienced this before at any hotel.
Perhaps trivial but equally serious, on returning to the room on Sunday night, an apple that I had left in the room, had been taken- I could care less about the apple but something of mine being removed without my permission leaves the unpleasant feeling that housekeeping cannot be trusted and undermines confidence in the establishment.
The room was generally unloved, it all needs attention: A drawer in the hanging space cannot be opened to use as bedside table is in the way. A large open cupboad without shelf, clearly intended for a fridge but doesn't have one. Dressing gowns were stated as included but were not in the room.
At $450 per night, the place is overpriced as is certainly no 4 star hotel. All round disappointment.

Dear rayp714, Thank you for sharing your feedback. I appreciate the opportunity we had to speak and am glad we were able to address and resolve your concerns. As we discussed, the refund for the breakfast credits was processed through Booking.com since the reservation was prepaid via a third party. Regarding the incidental deposit, international financial institutions can take 15 to 30 business days to release holds, which unfortunately can cause delays beyond our control. I understand how frustrating that can be, and I appreciate your patience throughout the process. We also took note of your feedback regarding the room setup and housekeeping, and our team has already taken steps to ensure these issues are addressed moving forward. We truly value your business and look forward to welcoming you back for a much-improved experience in the future. Please don’t hesitate to reach out directly if there’s anything we can do for you. Our second stay at the rebranded Coda Williamsburg, we’d previously stayed here under its previous guise also. Location was fantastic for us and Williamsburg/Greenpoint in general. We first used this location as it was close to an event we were visiting and after our enjoyable first visit in 2019 we returned in 2022 and 2023.

Our 2022 visit started poorly as upon arrival we we stung with a resort fee per night that enabled us “free” use of the pool, gym, coffee machine and Wi-Fi…..we explained we had no interest in the pool or gym and for the few thousand dollars we were spending we’d expect the Wi-Fi and cheap coffee would be included. No manager was available to field our complaint, 2 hours later still no manager until the guy stood next to the girl we were speaking to introduced himself as the manager…..bizarre. To be fair they did let us off the resort fees (over £300) as we showed it was not mentioned when we booked and had been introduced post booking with the Coda rebrand. After that we really enjoyed our time there, so much so we rebooked for 2023 knowing we’d have to pay the extra fees.

2023 arrives and so do we at the Coda, we specifically booked a room with a balcony as relaxing listening to the Williamsburg night was part of the attraction, on arrival however they were unable to give us the room we’d booked and paid extra for. For the inconvenience they offered use free use of their loungers by the pool which they explained cost more than the difference in room per night. Having little choice we headed to our new room pretty miserable about the whole thing.

Not happy we brought it up with reception again, who magically found us the room we’d booked and if we stayed 1 night in the other room they’d swap us the following day…….and they did, which was great. If they’d offered us this upon check in we would have been fine about it, however I’m guessing the following day some other guest would be told they weren’t getting the room they’d booked!

We enjoyed the rest of our stay. However upon talking to another guest, he said he’d not received the room he’d paid a premium for either and that he was also offered loungers he had no interest in in lieu of a refund.

It’d appear this is a tactic, overbook premium rooms then compensate with lounger passes which cost the hotel zero rather than refund the difference.

So mixed reviews, if they handled guests better I’d have zero complaints (well once we found out they’d bring a fridge to the room), however after being burned a couple of times now and hearing of others also we’ll probably stay elsewhere next time.

We were looking forward to staying at this hotel. Unfortunately that will never happen.

All flights into LGA were grounded at their destinations on 9/9/23. This made the National morning news on 9/10/23.

I called the hotel repeatedly for an hour trying to speak to someone on Saturday 9/9/23 when our flight was cancelled and rescheduled for the next morning. I wanted to keep my room so it would be ready for me when I arrived at 10 am on the new flight.

Getting through to anyone at the front desk was infuriation. A constant loop of pressing 0 for the front desk only for the phone to ring and ring and go back to the prerecorded selection to press 0 for the front desk.

After doing this for 35 minutes a gentlemen picked up the call. I gave him my name and number. He looked up my reservation with my
Confirmation number. I told him that my flight was canceled and I needed my room. Check me in. I had already prepaid the full charge of $1240 for 3 nights. He told me I was in good shape and my room was held for me.

I also talked with John at reservations who was helpful but could not help me with check in and the delay.

I also sent two emails and the front desk manager, James, assured me that the staff looks at emails in a timely manner but whomever was working the desk on Saturday night dropped the ball.

When we arrived to the hotel in a torrential downpour the reservation had been canceled as a no show despite the emails and phone calls. James at the front desk did help to refund the full charge, but had no room available for me for my bushiness stay, nor di

anyone at the desk seem to be too arsed about the fact that their telephone and e-mail customer service is nonexistent.

Despite providing the emails sent the night before at 6 pm and 8 pm, and the phone call with the front desk, the staff was nonplussed because I didn’t apparently have the NSA level of documentation to show with whom I spoke or that my email was received.

They left two guests stranded with no hotel, didn’t refund the no show however, until I showed up and raised cane. Didn’t even offer to look at a sister property for us. Nah, they screwed up and instead of working with us they wanted us GONE. No explanation other than someone on the night shift marked it a no show and cancelled it (they kept asking me who was working at the front desk last night - Sir, I’m a guest, I don’t work here and don’t have access to your employee schedule)

Boo CODA. Your lack of any pleasant or accommodating front desk service from Millennials is proven in the lack of communication we and desire to service guests. I guess no one wants to work too hard. Too bad for $500 a night

James did refund the charge and we went to The Henry Norman Hotel and the difference in the friendliness and welcoming atmosphere was palpable.

Quite perplexed by the stellar reviews, perhaps largely influenced by the chill(er) pool vibes when compared to the BK competition. Location is great and the pool decent but my recommendation stops there.

The hotel's aesthetic is adequately stylish (boho contemporary) but there's wear and tear throughout (peeling wallpaper, scratched wood floors, lumpy mattress, etc.). We could hear the water pipes throughout the night, including from neighboring rooms, and at one point the toilet just stopped flushing. There were no robes/slippers or mini fridge, and the towels were small and scratchy. We requested a quiet, interior facing room but unfortunately the music from the pool precludes any real serenity.

Customer service was the biggest headache. Throughout our stay we called the front desk with various requests and they answered 1 of 4 times. The room service hours listed were incorrect and despite ordering food through the app provided in the room, it never went through. When we checked out we barely received an apology for the inconvenience.

This is a 3-star hotel at best.

We stayed for 3 nights, booked this hotel because we were visiting our son who lives in Williamsburg.
I'll start by saying that the front office personnel was quite nice and tried to be helpful for the most part.
The room was quite small even having a small balcony viewing the park, that we paid at $450 per night.
No amenities in the room like coffe maker, water heater nor minifridge. Small closet with 6 hangers.
No hand towels when we arrived, only face towels beside the bath towels.
On the second day the two bath towels had been replaced, no hand or face towels though. We asked for small towels and were told that there were in the laundry, and to give them one hour. The towels never came.
On the third day we returned to the hotel at 10 pm and found the room hadn't been serviced. We went to the front desk to ask al least for some towels (since we were lacking some from the previous day already), which we luckily got a few minutes later.
I do not believe the value for money makes sense to consider coming back, in terms of service but mostly for the lackluster amenities and facilities.

Visiting friends in Williamsburg I choose Coda over the Hoxton for the additional space in a Luxe King (170 sq ft at the Hoxton vs 295 at Coda).

I'll start with all the staff were great, any issues with the hotel are not their doing.

The hotel is not a four star, and is essentially a seasonal place that centers around the pool. The lobby is unimpressive and there is no security to allow only those with key cards up to the rooms. The rooftop bar was not open. The restaurant was only open for breakfast and over the weekend. We received vouchers for breakfast and, again, service was good but the restaurant is disorganized and the food was bad (even for free). We had other vouchers that we didn't use.

The room was clean and spacious but all Luxe Kings face the courtyard, which is full of tarps and isn't a nice view off season. There was only a blackout curtain (no sheer privacy curtain) so you have to choose between no privacy or no natural light. The room was sparsely furnished; no robes, slippers, mini bar, or luggage rack. We asked the front desk for a luggage rack and they brought one up. The bathroom floods if you have the shower at full blast.

The bed was comfortable and the I enjoyed the scent of the bath products. Housekeeping was provided and was good.

All in all, this hotel is lacking amenities expected from a four star hotel. We had a good nights sleep, the staff was friendly, and the location was excellent. Just don't expect a luxurious hotel stay!

We stayed as part of a wedding, and we anticipate the highlight will be the party in the Bohemia room. The staff at the front desk were also kind, and they offered free snacks (apples, granola bars) in the lobby. The area seemed to be an up and coming neighborhood with bars and coffee shops within minutes. We also went to one of the best Japanese restaurants I’ve been to - Rule of Thirds- within 5 mins.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed at the value for price in terms of the accommodations ($600/ night on the weekend). Essentially, it’s an upscale dorm room, with very thin walls, small bathroom, minimal amenities (ie bottled Fiji water was the only option). There was no refrigerator or mini bar. We also were unaware that the pool or “beach club” was completely closed and non-functional. There was nothing indicating this on the website, which is false advertising. I was almost going to purchase a pass in advance, except the weather was not great.

Highly suggest exploring other options. I was told that it used to be a “happening” hotel before the upstairs bar was completely abandoned. That is a shame but makes sense.
