I stayed for a week and will stay again the next time I need to be in Brooklyn. The staff was courteous and professional, the room and bathroom were clean, breakfast was delicious, and most importantly - I was able to park in the gated parking at night (for an additional small fee). The room was quiet and the train sounded more like white noise. The bed was very comfortable. On the negative side, the TV has only basic channels which wasn't a big deal. The neighborhood isn't great - it's a commercial area with garages but I felt safe walking in the area during the day. There were no instructions in the bathroom how to turn on the shower - basically you need to turn on the water and pull down the tub spout. I did not expect that. Other that that everything was great. The market in the corner had a huge menu for take out lunches/dinners if you want to eat in the room. The room has a small fridge, microwave, and a coffee machine. Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

I chose to stay at this Best Western based on the 5 star recommendation from others. I received exceptional customer service from the receptionists, breakfast reps & housekeeping staff.
There was a variety of freshly made, healthy breakfast options served in a clean, well-maintained breakfast room.

The Best Western had the friendliest staff we've experienced in our extensive travels! Front desk, housekeeping, breakfast room staff - everyone greeted us with a genuine smile, was very helpful if we had questions, and wanted to be sure that we were enjoying our stay.

There is an elevated railway line in front of the hotel but we had a room at the back and never heard the trains.
The room was well designed - nothing is big in New York but there was plenty of space for our belongings. The fridge and microwave were useful, and the free bottles of water were much appreciated.
There is secure parking next to the hotel which is very reasonably priced.
There was a better breakfast selection than at similar hotels (some items were better quality than others).
The hotel is a short walk from the subway if you want to go to Manhattan.

The mattress could have been softer (but many people prefer very firm mattresses). The thermostat on the air conditioning needed to be set about 10 degrees higher than the desired temperature but otherwise it was effective. The area seemed to be a little run down but we were assured that it was safe.

If you want take out I can highly recommend David's Brisket House and the Wholesome Food Market.

On the third day of my stay, I asked for housekeeping to clean my room (at 11am), and for at least a fresh set of towels. When I came back to my room at 2:15, it had not been cleaned, so I called down to the front desk to ask them to send fresh towels for me. They said they would. At 2:35, I went down to the front desk to say I would carry up the towels myself, I just needed some fresh towels. The woman at the desk, and a man helping someone else, said not to worry and that the man would bring up my towels immediately after finishing helping the other guest to her room. The towels never came. I would have done all the leg work myself! I tried to do the leg work myself! This hotel is not so budget that this level of non-service is acceptable. It's one thing if the staff had just apologized for forgetting to add my room to the roster of rooms to be cleaned, and told me that housekeeping was gone and there was no way to get a clean towel, but to repeatedly have people promise a *very simple* bit of service that is included in the price I paid for the hotel room and then not deliver is frustrating. I will probably never stay at a Best Western again.

The Best Western was not my first choice; however, they have exceeded ALL of my expectations. I needed a hotel to stay at for a week, while my son was recovering from surgery. The staff at the Best Western Plus Arena hotel went above and beyond for us making this difficult time easier. They accommodated my ESA dog, carried our bags to the room (even tho they don't have a person on staff who normally does this job). I recommend this hotel to everyone! The staff is simply the best, and truly understand the meaning of hospitality and customer service. I travel for both work and pleasure around the world and have stayed in some of the finest hotels and they do not compare to the care we have received here. Thank you to Ijitra, Devin, Keshia, and Samya!!!!!

AirTrain is a great option for getting there as the LIRR station at Nostrand and Atlantic is right outside. Bus lines north (New York Avenue) and south (Nostrand Avenue), and the B25 (Fulton) and east (B65 on Dean) and west (B65 on Bergen) as well as the A train at Nostrand and Fulton (about 3 street blocks away, and an express stop) make choosing mass transit easy. Lots of ethnic eateries around, and if you get in late there's a 24-hour deli on the corner for your late-night meal needs. Nostrand Wines and Liquors (NE corner of Nostrand and Atlantic) has a great selection of beverages at excellent prices to accompany the usually tasty meals from any of the local eateries. If you're a light sleeper, ask for a room at the back of the hotel so you're away from the LIRR station.

It’s quite a hike from here to our daughter’s campus, the reason for our visit, but the subway station at Fulton is only a five-minute walk away. This part of town feels a bit rough, but we had no incidents walking at night, and the hotel itself is clean and comfortable with friendly, smiling staff. Breakfast had the same options every morning but was well rounded: toast, bagels, pastries, cereal, eggs, sausage, pancakes, yogurt (+ nondairy), fruit…

The room is small, but was clean and served the purpose. The walls are thin, we could hear every door slam, I had never experienced that in a hotel before. The hotel faces the train, so you will want to request a room on the back. As for parking there are about 10 spaces and a $15 a night charge to park. Which was good compared to other places. Now the alley for the parking was blocked, so I had to drive on the sidewalk to get to the alley. There is security at night which was good. The staff was nice and helpful.

Was very surprised to find this nice older property in a somewhat older area of Brooklyn - an area that could use a facelift. I picked the place because it had ample parking at very reasonable rates - a rarity in Brooklyn. But there is also a train station right opposite the hotel and provides easy access to JFK. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean though the property in general could use some updates - like our mattress. Though the hotel doesn't have a restaurant, there are plenty of nice stores and cafes nearby to buy what you want, including excellent coffee & wine. The walk to them is safe and within 5 minutes. I wish the air conditioner had more controls like fan speed in addition to the temperature. But overall very satisfied with the experience.

No frills hotel. Budget friendly. I read a lot of reviews before choosing this one because I’m paranoid of staying somewhere dirty. This hotel is clean enough, no bugs in sight, friendly service, and $15 per day in and out parking. I didn’t try the breakfast but it did smell good. We walked around the block to Rosalia’s Cafe and had coffee and bagels there. Close to the subway too! Overall, easy check in and good stay. I will stay here again in the future.

I didn't see a subway stop, but an Elevated Train runs right outside, and the nearest stop is Norstand Avenue, a half-block away. I don't know if it's part of the subway system or commuter rail because I never took it.

It’s a 10 minute stroll to the subway and depending on what station you want to go to another 10-15 mins. Once you’ve mastered the subway nothing is more than 30 mins ie Manhattan.
