Detailed Reviews
My wife and I spent the evening hanging out at a friends place nearby. Since it was so late (3:30/4AM) we decided to spend the night in Williamsburg rather than drive back over the bridge. I called a few hotels, as Hotel Tonight would no longer let you book rooms for check-in immediately, given that it was so late. I called the Wythe hotel first, the person on the other end of the line was INCREDIBLY rude, basically didnt want to deal with handling a check in and hung up on me. Then I called the Williamsburg Hotel, however their rate relative to what the rate expressed on Hotel Tonight was a huge price differential and the representative wouldn't match the rate. Then, I called the Hoxton. I should mention that we've stayed in all of these hotels many times before, including the Hoxton. However this experience was memorable; we arrived in the lobby around 4 AM and was pleasantly greeted by Jason A (I believe that was his name, please forgive me if that's incorrect but I do need to mention how hospitable he was). He was exceptionally kind, made us laugh constantly throughout the check-in process (I'm sure we gave him plenty to work with, my wife and I are characters), assisted us with grabbing any refreshments we needed and then double bagged all of the glass bottles, AND upgraded our room. We had been imbibing that evening and I have a tendency to ramble on and on about nothing, going on tangent after tangent - he tolerated all of it with a smile on his face and complete professionalism. The room was great, spacious, good water pressure (as usual). Small rooms; but the Hoxton is a great hotel with a great bar, good food, awesome place to hangout during the summer, and staff like Jason A make a stay there well worth it.

I had a total blast staying at the Hoxton. The staff is friendly, the environment incredibly casual, welcoming, relaxing and stylish. Though the rooms are small, the hotel makes up for size with its courteous staff, local recommendations, in-house dining and drink, and in-room amenities including full bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Even comes with a yummy breakfast in the morning free of charge : )

Had a delightful stay at the Hoxton Williamsburg .
The staff (especially Talisa K ) went out of their way to make our stay special . Talisa set up our room with flowers and Champagne beautifully . The staff always asked how we were doing and if there was anything they could help us with .
The rooms are decorated beautifully, if you’ve stayed at any New York hotels , you realize at times you might have to compromise room size for the luxury of staying in such a wonderful location . I would keep that in mind here at the Hoxton, the rooms aren’t especially large but the common space in hotel gives you a wonderful environment to socialize and work .When you need to retire to your room you will find a well appointed and cozy room with a beautiful Bathroom.
Travel safe and be well and if you care to check out Williamsburg . I would highly recommend the Hoxton and Klien’s Resteraunt in the hotel for your stay ans dinner 😎

I was so excited to stay at this hotel after I had been to the lobby before and because of the great location. From the photos, it looks nice but on further expectation things look a bit dirty when you see the showerhead (looked kind of moldy) and other bathroom appliances.
I found my room lacked the basics like even water glasses and my water bottle didn’t easily fit in the sink to fill. When I went down to ask the front desk to fill my water, they were talking on the phone and ignored me for a solid 15 minutes.
You have to ask for anything else including an iron or steamer. They only give you enough towels 1 per person and you have to request room cleaning specifically.
The $4 breakfast in a bag is a good idea but not as advertised - seems to just give you whatever they have that day.
No coffee options in room either. Just hot water in the lobby that you put a coffee bag in.
Overall felt like it was really lacking even the essentials you would need in a hotel and was definitely not the experience I was expecting.

The Hoxton hotel is an average boutique hotel, with a myriad of issues which keep it from luxury status.
To begin, there is a minimal signage to denote where the hotel actually is. I arrived in the evening, and if it wasn't for GPS help could have easily missed the tiny type face outlining the entrance. Upon entering it is far from clear where you are expected to check in, I was greeted by a lively bar scene with no clear signage I was in the correct place. I actually stepped outside to make sure there wasn't another entrance I might have missed. Eventually I found the main desk tucked away in the back. Staff was friendly.
The room itself was minuscule, which can be expected from hotels in the city. As other reviews have mentioned, bathrooms are questionable, with the showers easily leaking into the whole bathroom; my girlfriend kept towels on the floor to keep herself from slipping and tolerate just how cold the tile was. The bed was fine, room itself minimal with a mini fridge, TV, and small desk with packets of dried tea/coffee. Items like pens, notepads, etc you might find in hotels were not present as they were removed due to the high touch nature of hotels and the ongoing pandemic (this will come up later).
The hotel bar/restaurant was average in quality and overpriced, even for the area. Restaurant staff were mixed, with kitchen close time being unclear amongst them. Our waitress was lovely, and was able to give recommendations to better spots in the neighborhood.
Upon arriving home I received an email I was being charged $100 for taking the partially used soap, shampoo, and conditioner from my hotel room.
There was no sign in the room, mention at check-in, at booking, in the FAQ or terms and condition regarding a fee associated with using the provided toiletry items. The only thing I could find was section 11 of their T&C under damages for charges of items missing from your room.
I figured that a half used shampoo bottle would just be thrown out so decided it was better to not let it go to waste. I would hope that a "luxury hotel" which is touting their sanitary measures during the pandemic isn't reusing soap between guests. It should be known the half filled toiletries are contained in PET 1 plastic, which is designed for single use and easily leach carcinogens when exposed to heat/cleaning chemicals which render it essentially impossible to clean and isn't approved by the department of health of NYC for reuse in common areas of bathing.

I have stayed in two of the other Williamsburg hotels that are in close walking distance, and much more expensive, and I thought this one was much better. I was traveling alone this time so I chose the "cozy" room, which was definitely small, but fine for just me. What I really liked about it was it is extremely well thought out. There is a spot for everything. Light switches and outlets next to the bed, a desk with outlets to work or put on makeup, a full length mirror with outlets nearby, big drawers with a safe under the bed, a hanging area with a drawer, shelves to place things, hooks near the door for coats, bags or towels, an electric kettle to make tea or coffee, a hook outside the door for umbrellas, and a hand shower and overhead shower, and a decent hairdryer. The room was very quiet and the bed and pillows were all very comfortable. The thermostat actually heated and cooled like it should, and there were nice curtains and sheers on the windows. If I was traveling with my husband, we would definitely have needed the larger room.

Came back to stay at the Hoxton and loved the room and amenities. The attention to detail and style is so good - loved the artwork in the landings, have never seen another hotel do that. Little touches like this give everything such a good vibe. The small room actually had plenty of pace for the 2 of us with 3 suitcases.
The mini breakfast hanging on the hook outside in the morning was brilliant and the coffee for the machine in the room was high quality [another first for us in a hotel].
Lastly, we checked out early and welcomed the front desk's super friendliness and high spirits at this early hour and we lingered with Marshall and Tiara for a great start to our day.
Will definitely return

The Hoxton bills itself as a boutique hotel which often is associated with an old building gussied up to look modern. Nothing of the sort here. The design elements are definitely of the post industrial style with a lot of metal and clean crisp lines. The rooms are in general very tiny (170 square feet for most) but with built in cubbies and shelves, a pull down desk top, and a bar for hanging clothes, you can manage. I loved the view of the NYC skyline especially at night, so make sure you ask for the Manhattan view. There is a lovely cafe in the lobby where you can get coffee and light breakfast items. There is also a restaurant which opens at noon, which we did not visit. The neighborhood is great, a short walk to the river or the ferry to Manhattan or the subway, and there are numerous restaurants in nearby. The Covid protocols were all in place which made you feel safe. As with most NYC hotels, you pay a high price especially on weekends but for us it was convenient to the wedding we attended. All in all, a great stay.

We loved our stay at the Hoxton Williamsburg.... the location is just perfect close to the L train subway, or best you can also take the boat to reach Manhattan or DUMBO!
The hotel is really cosy and calm so are the rooms, and the cherry on the cake is the view! Opening the curtain in the morning and staring at the skyline.
The staff is super lovely and helpful.
I would have stayed longer!

We stayed at the Hoxton immediately after our wedding in Brooklyn.
First, the good -
If you're lucky enough to get a Manhattan view, they are stunning. The interior design of the hotel is quite nice. As for location, if you want to be in the heart of the Williamsburg action, the Hoxton obviously delivers. Also, every staff member that we interacted with was extremely kind and helpful.
The not so good -
Only ONE out of the four restaurants/bars were open during our stay. This was probably the biggest disappointment. There are plenty of amazing restaurants within walking distance, but we had to go to another hotel to get the rooftop experience. A few details were amiss in our room. The shower products in our bathroom were not refilled and were almost completely used up upon our arrival. The towels were thin and cheap. Not sure if this was intentional, but our bed (which was AMAZINGLY comfortable) had no top sheet. A placard fell off of our wall in the middle of the night and woke us up with a loud bang. The bathroom door is semi-transparent and there is a mirror in the hallway directly outside of it. This makes it so that your partner gets a great view of you sitting on the toilet while they are lounging in bed.
Overall, my feeling was that if you're going to be a luxury hotel, be a luxury hotel and don't skimp on the details. I wonder if we had paid just a little bit more to stay at one of the other similar hotels in the area if we would have enjoyed ourselves more. Lots of potential in the Hoxton, but it felt either past its prime, or still has some work to do.

No, there was no mini-fridge in our room.
It’s a restaurant so I think they be fine during the day, at night it’s more like a bar but they won’t be banned.
Yes it is. 👍
I think they are just for the winter.
